I am new here, but I think everyone would appreciate knowing that NVC is still working. I submitted documents for my mom’s case on January 15 and got the DQ email this morning.

My wife and I are petitioning her parents to come to the US from Laos. Does anyone know what the marriage certificate looks like or rather what is needed to show family relationship? Family book?
They sent us a copy of the marriage certificate along with a translated one but it was very confusing as it doesn't state a date of marriage rather just an acknowledgment of marriage.
There is no marriage date on the family book. They need to go to their city office and issue their marriage license. Things that show family relationship include photos together, family books, your wife’s birth certificate that has her parents’s name and dates of births.
Intro: I’m from Laos, too, and I am currently petitioning for my parents. My dad’s case is already approved by the NVC, but my mom’s passport wasn’t good enough, so I resubmitted it in January 13. I hope to hear from them within the next two weeks.

Can you give me a brief explanation of how you started the expedite process? NVC did make a mistake on my mine and caused significant delay, too.
