Adjustment of Status is not affected...Green cards are not affected other than delayed interviews due to Covid.........there is a lot of misinformation and a lot of people just pulling stuff out of thin air.......

Obtaining a green card from within the US after marriage on a K-1 is a process unto itself, even pre-covid, with wait times up to one year.  This is one of the many drawbacks of the K-1 visa vs. the CR-1.  Check the guides here on VJ for a rundown of that process.

Since USCIS offices have been closed for months and not conducting interviews, that backup is expected to continue, especially because they have stated that the plan is to prioritize N-400 interviews.

The best thing is to get your AOS application in as soon as you have the marriage certificate, to get into the queue.  Btw, you can check processing times for your local office at USCIS.gov.

    Thank you :)

There is information on your embassy's website. It states as follows:

Urgent information for visa applicants regarding novel coronavirus

    14 March 2020

As of March 16, 2020, the United States Embassy in Paris, France is cancelling routine immigrant and non-immigrant visa appointments. From March 16, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France is not accepting applications by mail-in. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-fr/niv/information/faqs#need_earlier_appt, or contact us at fae_contactus+fr+mrv+en@visaops.net, or call +33 1 82 88 29 57 (Local Number), or dial +1 703 543 9342 (If you are calling from within the United States), to request an emergency appointment.

Applicants with questions about visa applications currently in process with the Embassy may send their inquiry via ParisIVPending@state.gov for Immigrant visa applications or ParisVisaInquiry@state.gov for Nonimmigrant visa applications.

So I emailed the ambassy about my appointment in June and it is not cancelled, it's really odd, maybe the person who answered me is wrong ? I guess I will drive there and see on the day of the appointment.

Thank you, I must have been blind. haha

Its really odd that it states this and you could still pick appointments.

Right, that's a common point of confusion. Most embassies treat the K visa as an immigrant visa although technically it's a non-immigrant visa. So, you'll find the K visa listed under 'non-immigrant' but it behaves and it's treated like an immigrant. You'll find something similar when you start to schedule the interview -- the system may list the visa under immigrant.

    thank you!

  5. Hello there !

Like most of us I got really confused about the whole process.

We got our NOA2 but no welcome letter ( I heard its common).

We called the NVC so I have my case number and ID number.

When looking at the CEAC the case is READY for interview on the 21 of February.

What are the next steps, I saw I was supposed to file the DS 260 so I did.

I am supposed to receive a letter from the ambassy in Paris, how long did yours take ?

    Thank you so much
