Anything yet? We also had to submit an extra document. They kept my husband's passport though. Status still says refused for us

Where do you see 'refused'? I'm not sure I'd place too much weight on the CEAC status - we were approved and our status says "administrative processing".

Congrats! Do you mean the uploading of 2020 taxes?

I uploaded EVERYTHING after seeing posts on this thread. The officer simply rejected documents that weren't needed within CEAC (I checked right after the interview). Didn't want to take chances.

To your question: yes, that includes 2020 taxes which we brought to the interview as well.

  3. Hey everyone, wanted to update that we had our interview and were approved! I don't think we would have been approved had we not known about the CEAC upload requirement, which they checked when we were there, so thanks everyone for that information. They mentioned that it would take up to 10 working days to get the passport back.

It sounds like you're all near the end which is super exciting!

Yes, nerves are starting to build! I'm trying to account for so many variables, I wish I was going in to the interview too. I'll report back tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on how the day goes lol.

I recently described to a friend: this process is like going through your whole schooling and not knowing if you're going to pass until the day of graduation.

Good news I hope? How did it go?

Oh no its not easy for people doing it the legal way.   They make it easy for illegals but people who want to do the right thing are almost punished for having to use their trash 1995 website.

It's sad, but true. Did you hear back yet regarding your uploaded documents?

    That sounds highly accurate.

    Best of luck today!

Its 100% BS.  If they would of told us to renew the tax returns we would of had that uploaded the day they asked us for them.  This whole process needs to be revamped and streamlined because the way it stands its so vague and confusing.  I think I'm more angry now that they are telling me that nothing was uploaded because I wasn't in the door for five minutes after the interview and those papers were uploaded and into the ceac. LOL I emailed them a screenshot of it saying they were submitted hahahaha call me a liar!

Nothing will be revamped or streamlined - this isn't a tech company with the user in mind. They could not care less about user experience/delays/frustrations. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is.

Further, at the end of the email, it says:

I just verified that we could still submit documents on CEAC (in case this is news to anyone besides me lol). I'd definitely consider doing this since it says to do so in the email, just under "additional documents" for whatever sponsor. Probably good to add a note with the upload too, just to be completely clear on things.

Granted, this is all my personal logic and reasoning, so please don't take it as gospel. I think I'm probably as in the dark as the rest of you are about this 😂😔

I've read of people going in with updated I-864's, but going strictly off of what the email said, I would just stick to providing the current financial documents. It doesn't say anything about updating the I-864 to reflect the current information. So, up to you I guess.

You might want to look up and see what others have done in the past to make a decision.

For what it's worth, I will not be filling out a new I-864 because I'd rather chance them asking for a new one than to have to deal with that mess again  I will be uploading the documents to CEAC though as soon as I am able to (Tuesday morning, so cutting it close!)

Let us know how it goes! You're interviewing tomorrow, right?

Thanks so much! Ah there really is no point in being negative or moaning about things that are out of my control. There is a pandemic, no one ever expected this and people are doing the best they can in the circumstances they have. It’s been really hard being away from my Husband but at least I know it’s coming to an end. We have forever to make up for lost time! I consider it a blessing as listening to my friends who are locked down with their Spouses, it doesn’t sound pretty! 😂

Can you please share your interview date?

If you go over to the travel.gov website there is an update stating the work visa ban expired March 31, 2021 and all work visas that have been waiting since the presidential proclamation began last year, have priority over all other visas. So embassies must process the work visas before transferring new cases over from the NVC. I’m trying to get advice from an attorney to see if there are options for us as we really need to get home. I’m going to ask the embassy what the backlog looks like but I doubt they’ll give me an answer as they never can even give me a timeline.
    When were you DQed?

That sounds odd to me. It doesn't make sense that they'd prioritize those visas over immediate relative visas.

    Mid-October - how about you?

  11. 11 hours ago, Thewander said:

Yes, that was the last date they’ve pulled from. She had an interview that was canceled then rescheduled. She’s the last spousal visa that has been scheduled for an interview. After DQ date 10/01/2020, no spousal visa interviews have been scheduled. The embassy also stated in an email to a senator that they will not be transferring any cases from the Nvc until they’ve gone through all that they have already at the embassy, including work visas.

Can you please share that email?

I emailed two senators yesterday - if anyone has any other ideas let me know.

They typically schedule interviews at the end of the month and very beginning of the month. The only interviews I saw scheduled were two k1s. I’m guessing all the rest were work visas which is infuriating.
the embassy has said they are only scheduling interviews for cases currently at the embassy which means all the work visas that have been sitting there over the past year now get interviews ahead of family based visas waiting at the Nvc. The embassy hasn’t transferred family based cases from the Nvc since September.
im incredibly nervous the work visas will set us back months. I’ve been contacting American & Irish officials with no luck at all. But I’ll keep fighting.  We need to get home, this is not ok.

How do you know that "the embassy hasn’t transferred family based cases from the Nvc since September"? I thought I saw someone with a DQ of 01/10/2020 get an interview date?
