Thankyou for your info. I got mine on this week already. :)

my suggestion is to call USCIS customer service to get more information on your case. Good luck

Hello! I already received my receipt number via sms few days ago and I checked the case status

On January 24, 2020, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number ##########. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address

-I’m happy about the progress of my case. Thank you

    Hi everyone!

I hope you had a good day so far.

I’m really worried because we sent our application December 2019 and we also got our NOA1 already. On the NOA1, it states to verify information to make sure everything is correct. And all the information on the NOA1 is correct. However, they haven’t cashed our check yet. And it’s been over a month since they received our application. We sent it at their Lockbox Facility in Texas.  We’re just super worried.

Any ideas what could possibly wrong? Or how long does it usually take?

    I appreciate it a lot.

    Have a great day!

    Is I-797C same as NOA1?

    I-797C, Notice of Action

It's the first notice of action letter (NOA1) from USCIS after filling the petition. Receipt notices contain the receipt number used to track the case

You should have a case number which you can use to track the status of the case online

Hello!! I submitted my papers Dec 23,2019.. Just got SMS yesterday and fee hours after that they cashed the check. And notices will be mailed soon I’m sure.

You said you already received NOA1? Hmmmm.. This is a unique scenario. Have you called the USCIS service center yet?

I hope you hear from them soon

  4. Hello everyone!! After 32 days I got a notice from USCIS saying my AOS packet wasn’t properly filed because I forgot to sign my I-131 Application for Travel Document and did not include the fee.. We wrote a check of 1,225 for the filing fee and biometrics.. I guess my question is... is the filing fee for travel document new? I did not read any fee about this form before... thanks

Hey! Yes I did. You can see my timeline in my signature.

I sent it Jan. 14th, got the texts on the 20th and received hard copies today.

Funnily enough they cashed our checks after the text notifications, on Wednesday the 22nd.

But to be honest we were expecting a month-long wait because that has been the average up until it became really quick all of a sudden for most January filers.

I’m happy for you!!! I still don’t have any update with my papers.. I don’t know what to do at this point.

We were in the same boat. the only indication they got our packet was that they cashed their check today. You could definitely e-mail them at lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov . We did.

    Give them:

    1. your name
    2. your birth date
    3. Your address
    4. the forms you filed

At first they'll respond with an automated message saying that someone you'll be contacted within 30 days. It will take them sometime but they'll eventually get in touch with you. Hope this helps and good luck with your visa journey.

    Hi!!

I sent them an email the other day , and I got the response saying they will get back to me in 30days. Did you they cash out your check today? And you also filed your AOS December 23rd right?

sorry about all the questions! And again thank you

Writing the above reply reminded me that you can check if your check or credit card already cleared. (Although I should say mine actually cleared 2 days after I got my texts.)

however it does sometimes take longer after and around holidays because of the number of potential documents increase (as usps delivers all at once after holidays)

I see.. I appreciate your response!! I will give it til the end of the month see what happens 😉

Hi Kay. They ran our credit card 32 days after receiving our package. It was late in the day, around 4 o’clock pm. Keep checking your bank account. I’m sure the Christmas and New Years holidays slowed things down too. Good luck and keep us posted when they do. Trust that it will be soon! I know it’s hard, but it will happen.

I sure will!! Thank you so much and goodluck with AOS

32 business days? Calendar days? Thank you

For those of you that mailed your packets prior to the holidays you'll  have to take that under consideration. You know how things go with everyone rushing out the door. Yes  no excuse but it happens. Remember they have 30 business days not calendar days to get your receipt to you. I suspect this week you'll get your receipt don't  panic it's  coming.

Hi!! This is encouraging but I still can’t help but worry.... my AOS packet got delivered Dec 23 and I still did not hear anything from USCIS. We mailed it to the Chicago lockbox... It’s frustrating :(

They FINALLY ran our card this evening. I’ve never been so happy to have money taken from my account. 🙌🏻
Thanks everyone for all the encouragement when things were looking bleak!

Hi!!!! We mailed my AOS packet December 20, 2019 and they received it December 23rd. I did not get any SMS or Email. They did not cash out the check yet.. I don’t know what to feel right now. Just overthinking things... How long did it take for them to cash out your check? Ughh , upsetting.

I used Fedex and sent it to the street address on the USCIS website.  There is no rhyme or reason why some things happen quickly or take forever.    And it’s a waste of time and energy to call unless 30 days has passed - learned that during K1 process.    And we never got a text - only notice was NOA in mail.   Online case status was never current - always a lag of a few days to over a week with every step.  Hope you get something soon!

We did not have any issue with K1. We got sms and email etc. But this AOS process is making me nervous..Did they misplace the papers etc etc.. But anyway, I thank you for the responses . I also hope to get something in the mail soon 😊

from what i hear is that if initial review of application wasnt clean it has to go through a secondary review and that takes time. Either ways i think you should hear soon

I see.. Did you do the same thing- AOS through K1? Many thanxxx

Took almost 3 weeks for my NOA back in July.  Knew they had received it and was worried when I didn’t hear anything.  But once I got NOA everything moved fairly quickly with Detroit field office. Had green card in hand by Nov 29th.   So basically 5 months from filing AOS paperwork.

I guess I’m just really anxious about the whole process.. I’m always thinking that the delay has something to do with the holidays.. Did you mail yours through USPS? Thank you

  13. Hi guys!!! I came in the country on a k-1 visa and now I’m happily married. I submitted my adjustment of status packet last December 20, 2019 and USPS confirmed that it was delivered to the Chicago lockbox on December 23 @ 5:37 pm. Until now I have not gotten any sms or email from uscis saying they have my papers. Just worried about it.. Does anybody have the same experience? What should I do next? Thank you
