  1. I was told at the pre-screening that I missed to upload the petitioner's W-2 (but I gave them a hardcopy). I asked if I will be placed under 221g and she said it will depend on the officer's decision. At the interview, the consul did not ask any additional document and said I'm good. So I had the impression that they will probably just upload it themselves.

After a week, I checked my account at CEAC and they still did not add the W-2 there. Should I upload it myself or should I not touch anything after the interview? Anyone with similar experience?

    Thank you.

Nothing to worry about .. my interview was on 13 Jan and the VO said everything seems to be in order , we need to do last minute check and will contact u through email , you can go back to ur city ...they took all my orginal document and passport.. I was also confused that the VO didn’t say anything while two of the people who had interview on the same date , their statuses changed to ISSUED and mine was not reviewed till 18 .. the status changed to AP and on 21 Jan it changed to Issued .. so don’t worry .. check ur status everyday

Thank you so much for sharing. My status was changed to AP on Jan21 (the same day of interview). Now they updated it to READY.

  3. They kept my passport, which is good.

I remember at the pre-screening, I was told they need to update my application from CR1 to IR1. I was also told that my spouse missed to upload a copy of his W-2 in CEAC website. I gave them the harcopy and asked if my status will still be placed under 221g since the file was not uploaded before the interview. She said it will depend on the CO's decision at the interview.

I wouldn't worry.  No visa is actually approved on the spot.  All cases go through administrative processing.  Some take longer than others.  Just watch the CEAC status for the change to "Issued"........good luck.

Hi, thank you. Two of my friends who were interviewed on the same day were clearly told by the consul that their visas were approved and that they will only need to wait 2-3weeks for it to be mailed. Their CEAC status were also updated to "Administrative Processing". In my case, I was only told, "You're good!". I was NOT told that I'm approved and that my visa is going to be mailed. Instead, I was only told to check my status online or call for updates. :(

  5. I had my interview on Jan21. It went okay but I was not told if I'm approved or not. The consul only told me to pick one copy of the small white leaflets next to the glass window and refer to the web and contact info there to check application status updates. I asked if they needed more documents from me to make sure I'm not placed under 221g (refused). He simply smiled and said: "No, you're good!" I was still not sure what that meant so I asked where should I go next. He said: "You're done, you may go home." And then he repeated that I may check my status online or call for inquiries after a certain number of days. I went home and checked my status in CEAC website. It was changed to: Administrative Processing.

From what I know, those who were not approved on the spot were usually those who lacked documents and are placed under 221g until all requirements are submitted. In my case, they did not ask for additional documents but I was not approved either. I feel like I'm in a limbo.

I checked other forums and read that Administrative Processing may take up to 60 days. My medical examination result at St.Luke's will expire in about 60 days too so I'm very worried.

Did anyone go through a similar experience? Please share your story.
