  1. Hi all,

Just a quick question, I'm waiting on my visa from the embassy in London after being approved and wondered whether I had to do anything specific regarding the NIE exemption or whether they would automatically add this onto my visa card? Since the new Presidential Proclamation has added K1's in the exempt group. Do I need to show the check-in at the airport anything?

Anyone from Round 2 or 3 that can assist and went through check=in?

hi londoners! good luck for the interviews coming up! Could you update on the questions and docs they ask for please, i know you'd be pretty busy after the interview so i'd really appreciate ^^🥰

I had my interview yesterday and got approved!! 😄

There were 2 rounds, first with a gentlemen who I gave my interview confirmation email and passport 2 US size passport pictures of me and originals of my birth certificate and police certificate. He then asked for the updated letters of intent with both of our signatures. Then he asks for the MRV fee proof of payment and Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) with supporting evidence (I handed over my fiance's letter of employment from his manager/boss and also his W2 and tax transcripts for the last 3 years). He asked a few questions like what's what's the best number to contact you and when I plan to travel + other simple questions. I sat back down in the waiting area for my second round.

My number got called again on-screen and this time it's a female, she makes you take an oath and then proceeds with the questions. Below are the questions she asked me:

    1. When did you first meet? (I asked for clarification and she said when was the first time you knew about each others existence).

    2. What are your wedding plans?

    3. How many times has he visited?

    4. Is your family happy with you moving to the USA?

    5. What State does he live in?

    6. Has he always lived there?

These questions will probably be very different and mixed when its your interview as I'm sure there's a pool of questions they pick from so don't rely on them asking the same questions for you, too. Hope this helps as general guidance and good luck with your interviews!

Ah ok thanks! I had my email on the 8th March and haven't got an interview date yet.... I'm guessing this is a plaintiff vs non-plaintiff issue. Even though all I needed was a reissuance and already had my medical and interview early last year.. 🙄

It looks like the London Embassy has updated their FAQ page, but in particular regarding the extending/reissuing of immigrant/fiance visas - https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/u-s-visa-and-travel-faqs/

Check out "FAQ 3.11) Can my immigrant or fiancé(e) visa be extended or reissued? Can my medical be extended?

    Looks promising.

yayy awesome! did you get your physical letter yet?

I haven't yet, unfortunately! I think I should be fine to just print out the email version that was sent to my fiancé, however.

My interview is still a while away so it might pop-up eventually. 😄

If you guys are still waiting for the interview letter I would suggest you check your fiancés inboxes (spam/junk, too) in case it might have been sent there first.

We are round 3 plaintiffs and got an email response today from the London Embassy.

"Following the UK national lockdown effective January 5, 2021, the Immigrant Visa Unit is only providing limited visa services. We are in the process of scheduling your case and you will receive notification as soon as your interview appointment is confirmed."

I wish I had more information and more of an idea of what to expect. I will update once we have an interview scheduled!

Thanks for sharing - we got the exact same response, too!

My fiancé and I joined the second round of the lawsuit.  We've had been held up at the UK Embassy since March 2020 waiting for an interview.  We were finally able to get an interview scheduled for a few weeks from now once we had proof that we were accepted as a plaintiff in the second round of Milligan v Pompeo.  It's annoying that we had to pay to get an interview but after waiting almost a year we felt like it was our best course of action.

I was in the same boat as you, waiting since April! When did the second round take place? My fiance and I have joined round three so just want to get an average of how long it'll take to see some movement in our case.

All the best with your interview!

Do u mean the NOA2 to be expired on july? If yes, no worries, the embassy will take care of it.

Hi @Mavan, just to get a better understanding of what you mean here - our NOA2 is due to expire June 9th and we've not received our packet either due to current climate. Does this mean the embassy will automatically renew this without any instructions from us?

Also, on the US Embassy in London website they mention in the FAQ:

"A fiance(e) visa petition is valid for four months from the date on which it is approved.  If you are unable to apply for the visa before the petition expires, your U.S. citizen fiance should furnish a statement confirming his/her intention to marry you within 90 days of your arrival in the United States.  This statement should be presented on the day of your visa interview.

Would we still need to present this? Does it need to be dated and signed in wet ink or is a scanned photo-copy fine?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert, but I would send the documents NVC requested. Under normal situation they take over 2 months just to review your documents, then another couple of weeks to schedule the interview. As they suspended all interviews, they will hold your process at NVC until they resume their normal work. Remember that NVC can review your documents and request more information or document resubmission. Everytime they do that, it's another 2 months for the new revision!

Hey could I ask what documents you would need to sent to NVC? I'm also waiting for my welcome letter to arrive and my fiancé called NVC a few weeks back and asked what we should do next after receiving our new case number and they said to do nothing except wait

  9. Hi,

During the K1 visa waiting period after sending off the I-129F application (in October), my fiance visited me in the UK in November. To get ahead and be prepared for the next steps, I printed out the Affidavit of Support and Letter of Intent so he could sign it whilst he was here (rather than have him sign it in the US and post it to me). He had signed and dated it for that day in November, we've just received our NOA2 and are preparing the documents for the interview (not booked yet) and looking deeper found this page (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/visas-news-archive/20161228_ink-signature-no-longer-required-on-affidavits-of-support.html).

Can I still use the originally signed and dated form or is it best my fiance signs and dates to the most recent date and scans and sends that over to me instead? Is there a limit to how far back it can be dated?

How about the Letter of Intent? Is this was also dated from November.

  10. Hi,

On the following page https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/ it mentions the below:

"Birth Certificate: Obtain the original, or certified copy (provided by the issuing authority), of the birth record of each family member (yourself, your spouse, and all unmarried children under the age of 21, even if they are not immigrating with you.

My fiancé was not born in the USA and has a certificate of naturalisation. Would we still need to obtain a copy/original of his birth certificate from his home country?
