Done with medical and got her updated on her shots.

FYI - no flu shot needed between April and September. Only required from October through March.

And for those doing spousal visa in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, make sure you bring cash to the vaccination location. They don’t accept bank transfers or credit cards. They were pretty rude and almost kicked my wife out because she didn’t bring cash, until some nice guy came to her assistance.

What is the covid shot requirements? Did she get that one also?

    Hello VJMembers,

Please bare with my long letter. I decided to make a topic here about the letter we received from USCIS. Our case was filed May 16th 2016 and got transferred to Vermont Service Center from California Service Center last August 9th 2016. We called and talked to a Tier 2 agent and we have been advised that our case have been reviewed and done reviewing already and just waiting to be adjudicated. The agent even emailed the adjudicator to know more further about out case. But today we received this email from USCIS stating:

****We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

Because of the security checks required in your specific case, normal processing times do not apply. If you have not already been contacted for fingerprinting, you may be contacted in the near future.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

We hope this information is helpful to you.****

Its not really clear on when we can hear from them about that finger printing that they would need from my fiance. Plus isn't it the main reason why we got transferred in the first place? Because they say my fiance's record? I really don't understand what kind more security checks they needed to find out? Please VJMembers, if any of you had the same situation like ours, please let me know what to do and what to expect. They said 'Normal Processing Time" do not apply in our case. That means that even if VSC says within 5 months for I-129F that doesn't mean we can get approval within that timeframe. Please please help us. Thanks all in advance and God Bless...

Hi it has been years but I wonder did you get approved?

And I am still waiting. Stuck in pending security checks with USCIS. Still no NOA2.

Is there any update on your case ?

    Hopefully you received NOA2.

I filed for my wife Sept 2020 so it's been almost a year now with nothing. I recently made a request to expedite and was informed that they couldn't make a decision as my Security Check was pending. From what I'm aware the Security Check consists of an FBI background check, fingerprints and a name search. I work for the Department of Defense so have had a background check and fingerprints done. I called USCIS and they say it may be my wife's background check they are waiting on. I'm still waiting for my case to be reviewed. I filed for my 12 year old daughter April 2021 and in less than 60 days her case was being reviewed. USCIS told me it may be my wife's security check yet why would they be checking her out prior to the case even being reviewed? Makes no sense.

How is your wife's case now? Is there any update?

    Same situation here.

What does this mean? It’s been like this for a month. Howlong does these security checks take ? I don’t have a criminal record.

‘Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks.’

I am having the same exact situation right now. My case was sent from Nebraska to Vermont. Also sent 3 times outside of processing times.  (september 2020 NOA1) I got same message you got from USCIS. We also travelled a lot of Countries and petitionary(my husband) has comman name. I do not know what would be the reason but I wanted to share. How is your case coming along? I cannot see your case timeline so I dont know if you guys received an update. If it is please share with us here and update on your timeline.

    Good luck

Did you get any updates on your case? How do you find out when your case was transferred from vermont to Nebraska?

I asked EMMA another 2 times and was told my case was never transferred. But so far I still didn't get any updates since it was actively reviewed end of December.

No, nothing yet the only weird thing happened is I tried another outside of processing time e-request. It said I cannot dublicate because there is already one in process now (something like that) I can request in 30 days from the day I applied(which it was already 60 + days old.) But no movement...

I found out from tier 1 from live chat through Emma. But keep in mind they also dont know much. For example I requested call from tier 2 they instead send me email saying they sent my case back to Nebraska. Later on I talked to tier 1 they said it is in Vermont. I said but they sent me email saying my case sent back to Nebraska. Their response was that tier 2 has more detail info but tier 1 doesnt....Instead of asking directly Emma try asking tier 1 or (even better) tier 2..They will give you more solid info. I believe you are almost done with first part, most of the people get approved soon after USCIS actively reviewing. Good luck let us know when you are approved.

@millefleur I apologize for not being specific and I didn’t mean to hijack I just wanted to know the thoughts of the author of the post. I am waiting on NOA2 for my K1 and my fiancé is Brazilian. My NOA1 is April 12th 2021. I need to know how to get my fiancé into the US without being vaccinated and if that’s even possible at all. If it isn’t then we have to figure something else out and drop our case entirely because getting vaccinated is not an option. We initially were going to file the i-601 for religious exemption once married and in the US but the Proclamation of November 8th totally threw that plan out the window :( and now I am so lost and feel discouraged on what to do. This process is emotionally exhausting and frustrating. I appreciate any help I can get.

What did you end up doing because we will wait for mandate to drop as well. We are not going to get vaccinated.

really? Is it a good sign if it's transferred back to Nebraska? Was your case approved?

My case not approved but I think our situation is uniqe. I dont think anybodies case that long. Dont know the reason. They transfered after I sent them that it is outside of processing time already. They viewed a month and sent to Nebraska again it has been 2 or 3 months ago they sent to Nebraska. Nothing yet.

My case was originally with Nebreska which also says on the receipt. After a month I asked USCIS/Emma and I was told it was transferred to Vermont. Then in 4 months, I asked USCIS/Emma again and I was told the case is now in Nebreska. My questions is my case was sent to Vermont for background investigation and then sent back to Nebreska? Does anybody have the experience?

Mine also was in Nebraska and they sent to Vermont and then transfered back to Nebraska as well. Dont know why

Yes, March 2021. I case is being reviewed since June 9 2021. Still, it seems a lot of time if it is already being reviewed. I can't agree more with you. Why do they have everything as a secret and mysterious?

I think you are alright. You should still be in normal processing time. But if they finish your case within the time they give (and most of the time thats the case I believe mine is not usual) you should hear from them soon. Let us know when you get your approval 🙏

Since March. I travel 5 times a year  ever since I know her. I helping her the best I can even with even basic medical services like dentist and gynecologist. I sent them all these evidence on both 129 and 130. These are our love ones that are stranded and it hurts.

2021 or 2020. So sorry confused with timeline 😅 You said They are reviewing your case since June 2020 but your case sent March 2021. Do you mean you started march 2021 and it has been saying under review June 2021 ?

And obsulately I agree it does not make any sense to keep families separeted all that time. I think they just don't care.

I did the k3 visa to push my i130 and none of them has been approved. My i130 is being reviewed since June 9 2020. I don't  know what else to do. There is a link at the USISC to send a notice when it is delayed. I don't IF that really works. Im really desperate and Im travelling ever 3-4 months

Sorry for this but the petition was sent september of 2020 and still offices were pretty much in a lockdown mode

many that work here in US are either sick with covid or can't work in our offices still now at end of 2021

look at my timeline (pre covid)  i was almost as long as this and was tossed from Nebraska after 10 months to Missouri for another 6

it takes a lot of patience to complete this entire process and when the NOA2 fianlly comes and the case is completed to DQ with all supporting fees and documents done there,  its going to sit there for many months till Turkey is ready to schedule

Its not fast and basically unless there are special circumstances ,   there is no way to speed it up

I was wondering something. Did you do anyting that may slow the process. I mean anything. Address changing but not updating, missing document, lack of proof of marriage in any type etc.. I am trying to understand why some people get approved right away and some takes long.

Thank you so much for your time.

Okay, well in your particular situation, I recommend contacting both your congressional rep and US senator.   They are obligated to help USCs with federal agencies, and they have the  staff for that.

Most require that you sign a release giving them permission to contact USCIS on your behalf- often there is a link for this right on their website.

    Best of luck.

    Thank you

Yikes.   Sorry to hear what a struggle it’s been……

Did you say you had contacted your member of congress/senator to do an inquiry on your behalf, since it’s outside of normal processing time?

Yeah it really has been a struggle.

I submitted 3 or 4 times inquiry for outside of processing time and filled a form for ombudsman assist. Ombudsman got back to us but nothing yet. Also nothing from e-request either. Since my husband lives in Mexico now,  I don't know how congress\senator works. I talked to tier 2 they don't have seem to have too many info on our case. Kept saying just be patient.😑

Family is free to move to you if it is taking too long.

Yeah thats eventually what we did.. We met in Mexico but job opportunities really making it difficult (for his major). He would not be able to come to my country because of political reasons back in 2017. It is my country's f up. I will leave it at that. So not everybody just pack their things up and go to their partners country but we are triyng our bests.(btw separeted 1.5 years) Not the easiest one. At least we are together now. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Were you also married US citizen or Perminant resident ?

Because it seems like yours took soooo long omg. Sorry for that .

  17. Hi everyone,

I am getting really hopeless about our case since it has been 1 year 3 months 11 days so far. I sent 3 or 4 times e-request for outside of processing times. Applied for ombudsman assistance. None of the e-requests really answered. (meaning no result yet on my case ) and ombudsman after about 2 months later said that they will let me know when USCIS reply to them. (they talked to USCIS as they say) I am looking everybodies case completed waay earlier than us or about a year the latest. I just do not now what to do. It is not fair to families who have been separated yearss. Do you think I should do I know you will say nothing but wait but I am here to get some info or any other people in the same situation like us.

    Spouse of an American Citizen.

    I am Turkish.

We have been married 4 years and also been together since 2016.(6y)

    Sept 17 2020 (Applied for I-130)

They transferred us from Nebraska to vermont and they sent it back for review back to Nebreska over a month ago.

    Thank you for your answers.
