I have heard mixed info regarding foreigners getting married in the Philippines after a divorce, some LCR accepted a copy of the divorce decree.  Being a former Filipino I would, almost, expect you to have issues without completing the recognition of divorce process.   There have never been any clear answers to this issue.   I have yet to find any clear answer on any of government website either.

You may have to contact the LCR where you would plan to marry and inquire with them.

    what is LCR sir?

Were you naturalized before the divorce?    If NO being you were both Filipino when married you would have to complete the annulment process.  If you were a USC before the divorce you should be able to get the divorce recognized, which is still a court process.

yes sir i am a USC before the divorce, but its more easier to get recognized right? i ll just show the divorce decree?

  6. Hi All,

This is for CR-1, IOE, NVC Phase, at this current situation with the virus, how can one move forward without a police certificate?

Should we wait until the quarantine is lifted, then obtain the police clearance OR submit a letter to the NVC explaining the current situation, as well as providing evidence and stating that we will provide the police clearance on the interview day? Please advice and thank you in advance.

The NVC guide here on the forum is so outdated. They merged the DS-261 and DS-260 together.

    Oh thank you very much.
