Awesome news I am in Indianapolis too waiting on my initial interview, I was wondering if they were doing interviews yet or not. I guess once they clear out all the rescheduled ones they will start scheduling new interviews.
Hi! I don’t know the criteria they are using to schedule the interviews but maybe you are right... first the re-scheduled... I can tell you that my husband whose de-scheduled interview was on April 8 (like my previous one) was re-scheduled for July 20. Anyway, as I said, my experience at Indy’s Office was absolutely positive. Now I am waiting for the next step: “notice of the ceremony”. Best of luck to you!

Hi! Thanks so much! It was the re-scheduled one. My de-scheduled interview was on April 8. They were really fast. I am so glad!

Hi everyone! Friday June 19 I passed My interview!!!! 😊 I did at Indianapolis. The officer was really nice and professional. The Office in Indy works just perfect in terms of timing and organization also in this difficult time. I am so grateful! Now I am waiting to get the notice of the ceremony. Thanks to all of you for the advice you gave me during this procedure!!

Hi, I just got the email from USCIS about the Extension of the office Closure until (at least) April 7.
I have the naturalization-interview scheduled on April 8.... I am so worried! I think that, given the situation, they are going to extend further... What do you think? Thanks for your attention!

Hey! Thank you! I called USCIS and they told me that it’s just affecting the ones from March 18-April 1. But then we don’t really know if they will extend the suspension so it’s always better to check the website daily. It’s very frustrating knowing that it’s been such a long wait already.
Hi, I called too right now! 😊They told me the same! I really hope we can have our appointments on the 8th ALSO because this would mean that this hard moment is going to finish... take care and best of luck!

Do you think they'll reschedule visa interviews too in that time?
Hi, I am sorry but I really don’t know! in the communication it is written that they will re-schedule the appointments affected from the closures... Good luck!

My AOS interview is on April 8. Do you think it’ll be rescheduled too? 😢 I’m confused since it states that “USCIS will send notification to those who are impacted by this closure”. I know our schedule is not within those dates.
Hi, I have the naturalization interview scheduled the same day of yours...April 8. I am confused too! I think, (it’s just my guessing!!!) based on USCIS statement that they should keep our appointment, they are going to re-schedule just those whose appointments were scheduled between March 18 - April 1st... Anyway I think it’s too early to make conjectures given the fact that everything is changing day by day... Best of luck to you!

If you are a male over 26 or a female, it will not be brought up. And unless I'm mistaken, it is not required if you entered on a J-1 as it is a non-immigrant visa.
Hi, YES! thanks!! my husband was 37 when he got the Green card. Also, I found this on SSS.gov:
"3. Males Not Required to Register
The following classes of males are not required to register for Selective Service:
• Males over the age of 26;
• Males who did not live in the United States between the ages of 18 and 26 years;
• Males who lived in the United States between the ages of 18 and 26 years but who maintained lawful nonimmigrant status for the entire period; and
• Males born after March 29, 1957 and before December 31, 1959."

It is definitely brought up for males 26 and older. I was a male in my 50s when I naturalized and it was brought up.
Sorry Mike, are you saying that they asked you about the selective service even if you were older than 26?

It asks for “any” selective service registration.
Your husband should go to SSS.gov and see if he was registered (verify or update registration) just to be sure. If he never set foot in the USA before age 26, it is highly unlikely he was registered.
If he was registered then it is essential he print the results from sss.gov that show he was registered.
HI, thanks! Yes indeed he checked on SSS.gov and the result was "a registration record can not be found'. I printed this, so he can bring it to the interview! is this enough?

That is a generic letter, if you two were already over 26 as you mentioned, just ignore the selective service part.

Yes, We both were 35 yrs old when we got the green card and I am a women. Thanks so much!

Hello, my husband and I just got the interview- appointment letter and as documents we have to bring that day we have: Green Cards, Other ID, Travel documents AND any Selective service Registration.
My question is about the last document "Selective Service". I am a women and my husband went in US first time when he was older than the age limit of 26 with a J1 Visa. So, we didn't register.....
I guess this is a list of documents that the office use to send to all the applicants....
Is my guessing correct?
Please advice.
Thanks so much. -

After biometrics, you'll receive notication that your interview has been scheduled. USCIS typically schedules interviews 33-36 days after notification. It seems like you haven't received any interview notification.
'27 days' could mean wait time until you get notification of an interview. It's great that it's very short! '27 days' could be shorter or could also count down to '1' and then say 'we're taking longer than usual blah blah blah.' Maybe you can start blocking dates if you think that you'll have an interview in (less than) 27+33 (to 36) days?
Check the US Citizenship timelines here on VJ. You'll have an idea how fast petitioners get their interview dates for your local office. Good luck!
Many thanks for sharing your experience!

I believe the interview will be after 27 days, wish you best of luck. Which state is that ? my wait time is 5 months
Hi, thanks so much! Indiana! Best of luck to you too!

Hi, I did the biometric appointment on Jan 24/2020 and now on my account is written “we reviewed your biometric” - “wait time 27 days”.
Based on your experience “Wait time 27 days” - what does it mean? time I have to wait to get the appointment letter or it means that in 27 days I will have the interview?
Thanks for your help! -
Hi, I need your advice please!
i have my marriage certificate translated in English and the certification of accuracy attached. Do I need to have the translator’s signature notarized?

Well! I have noticed that husband and wife, brother or sisters, or parents and children filing in the same day usually are interviewed the same day without the need to send a message.
I hope so! Thanks for your response!

Hi, me and my husband applied online at the same time and we asked through the secure message system on the account to have our appointments scheduled at same day.
They were really kind and indeed we did our biometrics the same day. To have the interview scheduled the same day too do you suggest to send them another message or the first one is enough?thanks!

What you have for the 2014 return (no need to order online) is good enough imo. I brought 5 years worth of IRS transcripts to my interview but the IO did not ask for them. Still, it's better to have them in case the IO asks for yours. You can easily prove that you had filed your returns.
Thanks for your help!
11 hours ago, Misuzu said:Just wait for the letter and bring what they ask for. Don't waste your time and effort.
And if they ask for anything extra you can easily back yourself up. They already have everything that you sent to them. Bring only copies of things that changed overtime which is for example: you changed a job since you sent paperwork - then bring paystubs etc.
I will! thanks again for your advice!

Did they ask you in the letter to bring those transcripts?
On the interview, nobody asked me of copies of taxes. They only asked me if I fill out taxes every yer and if I owe anything to IRS.
I guess bring the copies with you only if you are in trouble with IRS, but I doubt the officers even have time to look at them.
Hi, thanks for your reply! I am still waiting for the Appointment letter but in the meantime I am collecting the documents following the suggestions I read online. I didn’t owe anything so I can just bring the tax transcripts I already have, just in case! Thanks again!
-
Hi, I know that at the interview it's important to bring the Tax Transcripts for 5yrs and so, I asked them to the IRS.
But, today I got just 4 yrs PLUS a letter saying that the tax Transcripts are only available for the current and 3 prior yrs.
For older year a return transcript is no longer available JUST "account transcripts".
I just called them and they said that I could order via mail (using a specific form) a COPY of my 2014 return and also it should take a really long time to get it....
So, I ended up ordering "Account transcript" for that year.... I plan to bring for that year also the "copy" of my return that the Accountant uses to give to me.
Do you think this is enough?
Please advice!
Thanks so much.

Hello! Thanks so much!
I didn’t do anything! My de-scheduled interview was on April 8. I just waited for the new notice. Anyway, my husband (whose de-scheduled interview was the same day of mine) was re-scheduled for July 20. Best of luck to your mom.
