  1. Hello congratulations on being a US citizen, did you apply on the 3 yr rule too? I read somewhere that your process took only 2 months is that true? What did u send with your application? I'm getting ready to mail mine out soon.

No I apply based on the 5 years rule.. and yes It only took a lil over 2 months.. I got lucky because they were having the oath ceremony the week after my interview... I had my interview last Thursday and my oath ceremony is tomorrow :).. The uscis recieved my N-400 December 19th.

Remember, he's not a US citizen yet. I know he'll be a good boy and not apply for any jobs claiming such until after the oath http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/358739-denial-of-citizenship/

Congrats to OP, though, you will be a citizen very shortly!

I never claimed I was lol... My aoth ceremony is tomorrow so I will be tomorrow if everything goes well :)

  2. Thanks for the info I appreciate it :).. I don't plan on moving back to my original country till I'm too old to do anything illegal lol.. I was told at my interview to keep my passport because I can still use it to enter Morocco.

I'm gonna be getting an US passport as well, so I think it's gonna be nice to have 2 passports :D..

  3. Hi.

I passed my interview and I'm scheduled for the oath ceremony this Thursday. I have a quick question about dual citizenship I hope somebody can help me with.

I did some research and I found out my country Morocco allows dual citizenship , My question is what do I need to do to maintain my Moroccan citizenship along with my new American citizenship ? Is there anything I have to do ? or do I automatically remain Moroccan citizen ?

  4. Hi all I'm putting together my n400 docs and wanted to know if I should need utility bills, joint bank account statements, leases, medical etc from the pass 3 years, or will it be over kill. I know I definitely need 3 years of income tax. Just wondering, do they give rfes if you don't need enough info? Maybe it's better to send more?

Yes I would submit all the prove you have. it's better to submit more than they need rather not submit enough.

  5. Hi everybody. I had my interview today at the Cincinnati field office and I wanted to share my experience.

I arrived 30 min prior my appointment. I wasn't really nervous until I sat near this group of people who were waiting for an interview too and they were asking each other questions about the test which made me second guess myself lol... Anyway the officer called my name and we went back to her office, she placed me under oat and started going through my application.. I stopped her and told her about a speeding ticket I didn't list. She asked me if I went to jail that day I said no she said good and continued going through my application. Once done she asked me to read one sentence and then write one sentence ( we have 100 senators).. Then asked me 6 questions I answered all of them. And that's it I passed then she told me they were having the oath ceremony next Thursday and gave me an invite :)... It was a pretty easy process just don't freak out and you'll do just fine :)

  7. Hi Tarik,

I would def include memorizing your dates as part of your studying.. coz you just never know.

Keeping in mind it really is for the last 5 years or so, so hopefully you haven't got too much to remember. ..

The main dates you want to remember would be when you traveled our of the country (in my case the IO asked me when was the LAST time I traveled outside, she didn't ask me about the other times).

Also, try to remember when you married/divorced (depending on your situation).

I think these would be the main two sections to remember dates. ..as for employment and residence, if you can have at least some idea the order in which you moved and possibly the month/year, then you should be in good shape.

But just remember, every IO is different. .. my IO only asked me about my latest travel and that was it!!

Good luck for Thursday! You'll do just fine!

    Thank you very much :)

  8. Hi.

I have my interview this Thursday. I was going through my application and I wanna know if I have to memorize all the dates I listed on my n400 application. Like residency dates, employment dates and times I traveled out of the united states. My memory sucks when it comes to dates lol and I'm scared I might give wrong dates at the interview. Do they ask you for dates or do they just ask you to confirm the info after they read it ?

  9. It really depends on if your applying based on the 3 year rule or the 5 year rule.. If applying based on the 5 year rule you don't need to include any evidence that you are legitimately living with your spouse.. The photos is up to you ro take extra set or not. I'm planing to take some to my interview on Thursday and I figured if you don't need them I'll use them to apply for a passport later if I get approved lol.

  10. The same thing happened to me. I thought I did not register so I sent a letter to the sss explaining that I did not know I was required to register then I got a letter back with my registration number and when I went back to their website and checked it showed my registration date in 2008 lol. I did not ask any further questions lol.. I guess when you go get your social security number they register you... I bet if you go back to their website and recheck it will show him as registered. make sure to not put any dashes in date of birth.

  11. Hi.

I filed my N400 last December and my interview is next Thursday. When I filed I got confused about listing traffic tickets, I did a lot of research and a lot of people said traffic tickets less than $500 and not related to DUI do not have to be listed. So I did not list my only speeding ticket.

Now I got paranoid and I don't know if I made a mistake by not listing it. I went back to the courthouse and got the receipt showing I paid the ticket.

I'm planing to just come clean and tell the officer at the interview about it and explain that I did not know I was supposed to list speeding tickets. Do you I would be ok doing that ? Or am I gonna have a problem ?
