    Sometimes I-751 is stuck on some irrelevant status even after naturalization. Many officer don't bother clicking the forms to update online status for it.

    Thank you for letting me know. I read in some forums that there were people with "Oath ceremony will be scheduled" for months. Apparently it still means that the case is being reviewed. Only once it changes to Oath ceremony notice has been mailed, I can breathe freely :)

    Hi @NGorge how did it go yesterday?

    Going to give you a more detailed version.

    So my wife and I went to the USCIS center. They called my wife and I told the officer about the pending i751. He said that right now, he is only concerned about the n-400. He asked me if I am the husband and I said I was. He told me to hang back in the waiting area.

    My wife cleared the n-400 and she said that he did ask some i751 questions to her as well. The officer told her that he did not make a decision yet but most probably will clear the i751 as well. And if he has any concern, he will contact via mail.

    I had no idea how to respond as I felt this is very vague.

    But today, the status of the n-400 application has changed to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled". But the i751 status remains the same at "Case was updated to show fingerprints was taken."

    I will wait to get the official notice of oath ceremony in hand!

    Sometimes it's written in interview notice. Other times, it's not written, but it happens. Always be ready for it and bring the USC spouse.

    Perfect. Going with my spouse for the N-400 interview tomorrow. Will update. Thank you.

    I did the same but I also spoke to a USCIS agent on the phone today and was told since a I751 interview is not always necessary it is up to the interviewing officer. She also stated they do not have a way of requesting a combo interview. Therefore, I should discuss it with the officer at the N400 interview. My spouse will accompany me to the interview and be on standby if needed.

    Perfect. Thank you. Have the interview tomorrow so hoping for the best! :)

    Don't do it. Reasons:

    1) If the child starts crying one of you may be asked to leave the room, automatically converting your interview into stokes interview.

    2) The interviewer may be annoyed with the child / generally doesn't like kids which can change their mood affecting the interview.

    3) You may lose focus because of the child present and answer things incorrectly.

    Thank you. Makes sense!

    Mailed our I751 packet on 10/27/22 via FedEx.

    Delivered to Elgin 11/01/22

    Awaiting text/email confirmation...

    Though I read on USCIS the following:

    • This service is only available for forms filed at our three Lockbox facilities located in Lewisville, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; and Phoenix, Arizona.

    1. Does this mean Elgin filers won't receive the e-notification?

    2. I saw a few others on this thread stating they tracked their case or saw updates on "myuscis". How can I see our case status? Do I need the receipt # from the approval notice first?

    Thanks and all the best everyone.

    Just filed in Elgin on 10/27 delivered 11/01. Any updates on your end?

    I believe that Elgin Lockbox is the Illinois one.

    I got a text notification showing my receipt number after 13 days though others have received sooner.

    Once you receive receipt number, you can track via USCIS case status.

    Double check that Elgin is correct for your state of residence.

    You remain an LPR until a judge removes that status.

    1. Do you need to:

    * Renew a drivers license

    * travel internationally

    * get a new job

    ?

    If so you should call USCIS, say info pass, and request an I-551 stamp.

    2. Carry evidence that you filed I-751 on time.

    3. If your social security card is restricted, today  is a good day to go to the SSA office to get a card that removes that restriction.

    Thank you for the detailed response, Mike.

    Elgin is the lockbox for New York region.

    We need to travel around December. What type of evidence? All I have is a tracking number to show that documentation was delivered.

    I don't think we have a restricted SS. I didn't even know of such a thing..

    Did you send the G-1145 so you get electronic notifications with regards to your case?

    Also, when I did AOS back in 2019 I didn't get any notification of acceptance in 30+ days. I understand being anxious, but my point is, they take their time to do things lol

    Yes. I send the G-1145 form as well. I understand that back in the day, it used to take 30+ days. Right now on VJ, I am on the group of filers who did it during the same time as me and even one person who submitted after me. They got their text notifications and/or extension letters. Hence that got me worried.

    The tracking is your proof that it was delivered. Sometimes they delay in picking it up from lockbox.

    Just because your GC expires it doesn't mean your status will. And even if it was delivered, your extension letter (which will be an extension of your gc) will not probably arrive prior to the three weeks.

    👍 Thanks for the response. Will wait a bit more then :)

    Continue to wait, it's  still early yet. You can not and should not base your case on other cases. You can always put in a support request too sighting a loss document, but they have not even cashed your check yet. I'd say give it another week or so!

    Alright. Yeah. In general terms, I know it is early. But since the GC expires in like 3 weeks, just want to make sure that I am having some sort of proof that I did submit the documents and USCIS has received them. Just a text notification would have helped. I thought those came like in 2 or 3 days. Sigh.

    Relax. You have proof it was delivered, and it’s only been a couple of business days. I’d give it a week or two.

    I know. But since the GC is expiring in 3 weeks or so. I want to make sure that I am on top of things especially considering that I have no proof that USCIS has gotten my package and have not lost it other than the USPS tracking which shows that it is delivered to that PO Box. Thanks for the response.

  11. Hello everyone. Need advices at this point. We had sent our i751 package on October 12th and tracking shows that it was delivered to Elgin lockbox on October 14. We haven't received any text or mails since then. The money order was not cashed either. Starting to get a bit worried considering others are receiving text notifications/797 mails already. What should I do? Also, our GC expires on Nov 13th. Any advices?? I know delays were common during pandemic but not recently. Is anyone else going through this? What did you do?
