I haven't filed yet, we need to in September.. I'm just following out of curiosity, but I read on the USCIS Website that because of the back log with the removal of condition cases they automatically extended the 2 year green card 48 months once your papers are received and you get your NOA1 from them. Unless I am misunderstanding this.. Feel free to correct me. Here is the website I found: USCIS Extends green card validity . It's from January 2023. Hope this helps!

Yeah I’ve seen that as well. I’m not as worried since I’ve got 2 more months but was just curious if there is anything that can be done right now. But yeah, I’ll give it a week or two more and hopefully NoA will arrive 😊

  2. Hi all

My package was delivered on 7/5 and it says it is “Delivered to an agent for final delivery”. I still didn’t get charged for it. I do understand that sometimes it takes longer but since some of you filed after me and already got notifications is there something I can do to check where the package is. This is just so I can be ready to prepare a new package on time in case they lost it. My green card expires 9/15, so I have about 2 months left.

  3. Hi guys,

We are planning our wedding in America for June 2022 and my brother with his wife and daughter is planning to visit. Does anyone know what is the earliest interview date in Dubai? Did anyone recently had an interview for tourist visa over there?

Also his wife has a tourist visa from 2015 that expires in 2025 but it is with her maiden last name, where after she got married she changed her last name. Does she need to apply for a new visa or she can travel with that one? Also, the child is 2 years old, so I’m assuming in case she needs a new visa she can just go for both of them to the interview, since I’ve read somewhere that toddlers don’t need to attend the interview!?

Well that was easy. They barely asked us anything, just went over a few of the photos we submitted in advance looking for ones with our parents, then took some additional evidence I had, and explained the I-751 process. Case is under review, they mentioned they had to do some security stuff first, no updates on the case status yet.

Glad it went smooth and that you didnt have a really uncomfortable interview like I did. Your status will probably change tomorrow afternoon to new card being produced and hopefully by the end of the next week you’ll have your greenie 😊

ATTENTION TO ALL THE K1 FILLERS: at the interview the lady said that I was lucky to have had the interview today as my medical examination that I had taken the day before the K1 Visa interview - Oct. 6th, 2020 - was about to expire! At that point I would have had to submit the medical form 693!

It really lasts 1 year from the day you have it.

I thought that the rule is if you have submitted your AOS application within a year.
However I heard that after October 1st all the interviewers will be required to be vaccinated. Take that info with reserve but I’m sure you’ll be informed on your notice of action if you have to be vaccinated.

Congratulations to all of you for getting closer to your green card!!! Really happy for y’all.
I have a quick question; does anyone know how I could potentially speed up the process on my side…? I got my biometrics done in the beginning of August and it then changed to case is ready to be scheduled for an interview but since then nothing…. I would really love to have my combo card and finallly being able to start my career. I had already done a request regarding the travel authorization since it was technically out of normal processing time which is why I got my biometric appointment. But nothing since then and I don’t know if there is anything I could do to help speed it up?
    TIA 🙌🏼

If you did your biometrics and it says that interview is ready to be scheduled I think that there is nothing you can do to speed it up. It really depends on the field office now when will they schedule it. However if it goes another month or so, I would try to call them and check what’s going on

Really? What type of questions have you been asked?

Honestly it wasn’t that bad, but I’m a person who doesn’t like to share a lot of private things with strangers so it kinda made me uncomfortable.
The questions were: when did you meet, how did you meet, when and where was your first date, why did you get married, did you travel before and where, when where and how did you propose, how long do you live together, address, phone number.. that’s what came up on my mind right now about our relationship questions. But first he went through the i485 form and just asked almost everything from it. It was really annoying to be honest.
I do understand they kinda want to “investigate” and see if the marriage is bona fide but that was a lot lol

  8. We just did our interview and it went well, just way to many questions. It is not a really comfortable situation when you are being asked so many private questions by a stranger but oh well, nothing we can do about it and hopefully in about 2-3 weeks I’ll get the card. I’m just happy that after 2 years we are done with this and now we can hopefully take some break until removing conditions.

BTW the ead card is out for delivery

You may not need the 2020 tax return, but I wouldn't go without it. They may well ask for it. If your financial situation hasn't changed, there's no need for another I-864.  Your medical was done recently enough. If it's marked "complete", no need for the I-693.  We took everything we could think of to the interview and needed almost none of it, but it was better to have it because you never know what they'll ask to see. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply, that was helpful. Btw, where do I see that the medical is marked as "complete"?

  10. Hi guys,

My interview is in 2 weeks and I am preparing all the documents for it. I do have couple of questions regarding what to bring.

    1. So we submitted 2019 tax return forms both for sponsor and joint sponsor together with i-864, since we filed the AOS before we filed the 2020 taxes, do we need to bring the 2020 tax return for the interview or we are good? Also should we bring the new i-864 forms for the interview? In the letter it says "If required, a completed form i-864 ...", but I'm not sure if we need to submit a brand new one or the one that we submitted is already good?

    2. I did my medical back home in September/October of last year and we filed for the AOS in January, that means that I do not need to bring the form i-693 medical report?

    3. I do understand that bringing more evidence is better, but what do you think if this will be enough: marriage certificate, joint bank account, apartment lease, credit cards, tax return, photos?

Our Biometrics were completed on July 19th. We submitted an expedite request for the EAD the next day (July 20). As of today no further updates. I chatted with Emma on Friday and got the standard blah blah blah...just wait from the very unhelpful agent.  Just wanting to vent today.  Happy to see so many of you moving forward.

Sorry to hear that.. all I can advice you is to stay busy somehow, I know it’s hard but give your best. It sucks, but let’s hope you hear something in the next couple of weeks.

My case turned into Interview was scheduled this morning! Asked to a Live Agent if he could tell me the date but he said he did not see any changes on my profile.....I will try once again tonight or tomorrow

I would say to expect it to be maybe last week of September. You’ll receive a letter if not by the end of this week then for sure Monday or Tuesday next week. Congrats

  13. It all depends on local offices. I’m in Miami, FL and I had my biometrics 6/29, a week after it changed to case is ready to be scheduled for interview and then about a month after 8/5 it changed to the interview was scheduled and then 5-10 days after I received a letter in mail with instructions and interview date 9/15. I have never expedited anything and have never heard anything about EAD nor AP.
So if you local office goes with the pace as mine is, you should hopefully shortly expect some progress.

  14. Hi guys. I’m getting ready for my bio appointment tomorrow and I have couple things to double check with your experience.

    1. So on the applicant’s information worksheet (AIW) there’s a question about race and white is not an option from one of those, so I’m not sure what to do?

    2. Also just to double check with you the required things to bring with me tomorrow. The NOA for biometrics appointment and all other NOAs. And also for identification document I’m assuming my passport with the K1 visa in it will be fine?

    3. Anything else that is needed?
