  1. Hi..I got approved October 1 but got the CRIS email the next day. Should I wait for another touch to know that USCIS has sent it to NVC? Also, will NVC email me or send me a mail telling me my MANILA CASE NUMBER or they don't do this and I just have to give them a call like once a week? Thank you.

Also, I have their number but not their email address? Can anyone tell me the correct email address to use to ask them about my case?

  3. Dear fellow VJs and kababayans. I need your knowledge and help especially those that are passed this step already. Me (petitioner) and my fiancee just got our NOA2 updated today and just waiting for the NOa2 hardcopy to come in the mail. Can you guys tell me in step by step (if possible) what I need to do now while waiting for the papers to get to NVC? How long usually does it take before it gets to NVC? Thank you very much and God bless.

  4. I met the love of my life back when I was still in the Philippines. We met during our kindergarten and elementary years (we both went to the same school) but we never were so close to each other. I left the country when I was in 6th grade back in 1995 and I went back home in 2000 and was able to get in touch with her. Went back in 2004 and saw each other gain during a batch reunion. In 2006 I went home again and unexpectedly there she was and this time..LOVE came.

  6. Hey :P I didn´t know bszoom was working on another update and I was sort of working on my personal one since I don´t appear in his one :P I just did it from April to end of June since I thought applications from March and earlier should already be approved. Kinda surprised me that Chasnik is still waiting...that´s crazy so long. I thought the old ones were just inactive here on VJ. So when USCIS says time for approvals is 6 months it doesn´t have to be like that? So I just added the earlier ones as a number after I was finished. I post it here just in case someone wants to peek. Maybe there are other people who aren´t in bszoom´s list..

  7. Well I'm not a historian and do not know a lot about politics, but I did some research and I'll let you guys do the thinking and judging. I too also have wondered about it, and have wished that all of us can be processed this way. I mean to be honest, it is WRONG. There should be no special treatments..but only to pay more money if we choose to have the case expedited. It's like applying for a job that the company should not discriminate against the applicant's race age sex whatever..etc etc..i know it's not about employment but just giving an analogy..

well anyways.. here's what I want you to think about.. it could be just coincidence???

2003-2005 Director of USCIS and DHS was Eduardo Aguirre (CUBAN)

CURRENT Director Mr. Gonzales..forgot the first name..ALSO CUBAN..

so i guess the officers at USCIS tends to give special treatments to cubans maybe they DON'T WANT LOSE THEIR JOB hehehe.. lols..remember they have the authority..DIRECTORS.. and if i am correct President Bush is the one who puts them to this position

  8. well I went up from 6 to 16..still thank you bszoom for everything.. I was actually hoping to get a real touch yesterday (Friday) and have something good by Monday..but I guess I'll have to wait again next month.. October is when we turn 6months in waiting.. so i really do hope..God willing..that October is the month that we will get our NOA2..i hope no later than Oct 22 for it will be the 60th day since the case had resumed from RFE response.. and my fiancee's birthday is on the 31st.. hahaha HALLOWEEN..

  9. We were approved September 10th, I called NVC today and our file has not arrived yet. Hey Kits, I have been watching your progress, you are well overdue for your K1 approval, I hope it will come soon!! Good luck!

    Ken & Marife

Thanks Ken & Marife.. I am praying that I will get my NOA2 before this month ends.. thank you and God bless.

yeah, it's really overdue. i hope you get it soon.

Thanks guys..I'm trying my best to stay positive..but I am praying so hard to have our NOA2 this week..if not early next month. October is our sixth month so hopefully I won't have to wait till Novemer or December just to have my NOA2.. huhuhu...God bless guys and keep us in your prayers..thank you.

  10. This is a post to share what I believe and nothing more. Not to offend anyone, but more to give others hope and give encouragement to those that are still in wait including myself. It may or may not be the same to what rebeccajo had to say, but would like to thank her for what she had said, as well for the others. I hope the readers will get something out of this..

I would like to start with this very familiar verse, and if you haven't heard of it then I'm glad that you do know now.

    1st Corinthians 13:

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

LOVE is PATIENT, LOVE is KIND. It does NOT ENVY, it does NOT BOAST, it is NOT PROUD.

It is NOT RUDE, it is NOT SELF-SEEKING, it is NOT EASILY ANGERED, it keeps NO RECORD OF WRONGS.

LOVE does NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL but REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH.

It ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES.

LOVE NEVER FAILS. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and LOVE. But the GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.

We make choices in life everyday, and one of them is choosing who to spend the rest of our lives with and which path to take. Yes, we could choose to find love here, but sometimes love happens elsewhere. It is true indeed that loving someone from a different country with different culture and background can be more challenging. But this is the risk others have chosen for LOVE and what makes it more exciting. We learn to adapt, accept, and do whatever crazy things we could do just for love that we can't explain. Sometimes it crosses my mind why am I going through this when I can get away with it? Just find somebody here and no need to go through this process. But then it's all about TRUE LOVE why we have chosen to take this direction. We just happened to find it elsewhere unexpectedly and have chosen to stick with it. Ofcourse, each path we choose to take have consequences or challenges, but that is only to test us. We need to be reminded that life in this world is never perfect. Problems exist in our lives and it will never go away, it all depends on how we deal and face them.

Our fiance(e)s may not know how everything else goes around here in the USA, but I think we have forgotten the real reason why we are trying to get them here and be together...LOVE. It's not if they can speak English well or understand it or can communicate well, or know how to do things here in America, but for me what's really one of the most important aspect between a husband and wife is not only to understand the language that comes out of their lips, culture, background,etc....but the LOVE LANGUAGE BETWEEN A HUSBAND AND WIFE. I know the day will come when we no longer post here and go on with our lives, but before we can all have our separate ways.. Just want to share that JESUS LOVES ALL OF US HERE. One way or another, HE will make a way to bring us together with our fiance(e)s in HIS PERFECT TIMING. God bless us all and our fiance(e)s in different countries. We will OVERCOME THIS PROCESS guys.

Thanks Johna for sharing your timeline.. You are almost finished.. wish I had the same journey as you did.. God bless

I just finished a conference conversation with the National Visa Center, Congressman Pomeroy from the State of North Dakota, and myself concerning the I-797 Notice of Action form mailed to Visa petitioners. According to the National Visa Center, this notice of action stating the same thing you will see on the USCIS website or that is emailed to you is not important and will not stop the process of the K1-Fiance` Visa. For those of you who are worried or upset that you have not received this NOA2, you need not worry. This NOA2 is not needed to move forward in the process of obtaining a Visa for your fiance`.

As to notifications, as long as when you check the status of your individual application using the receipt number that USCIS has given you from the 1st NOA, you have nothing to worry about. So the idea that NOA2 is a cruical and critical step is false. Do not be discouraged if you never receive this NOA2, your application is still moving forward! The only time you will need to worry is if they inform you via email or the USCIS website that your petition is disapproved.

If you need further guidance, feel free to contact me!

    Thanks,

    Neil

To my fellow kababayan.. If you look at my signature below or my timeline, you can pretty much have an idea what I am going through. I sent my application back in March and got a NOA1 in April. Not quite so sure when to start counting the days (from mailing or from NOA1 date). Anyways, if we are goint to start counting back in April this October will be my 6th month of waiting. Even with a RFE I've had I believe I am still overdue. I called yesterday because it's been more than 30 days since the case has resumed and still no NOA2 yet. The person I talked with yesterday was a nice gentleman and told me that my case is being reviewed by the officer and that I should hear something soon. But I am aware that with USCIS, soon can mean months instead of days, although I am trying to be positive and hoping for it before this month is over. As far as I know, NVC can only receive your case if the petition has been approved, but I am also aware that some never got their NOA2 email or hardcopy that made it to NVC which means that they have been approved or else NVC wouldn't have it in the first place.

I think some cases, not all, just happened to be in these mess or errors of USCIS' system. If everything flows perfectly as it should, everyone would have a smooth journey as follows..

After sending the application>>>>CHECK CASHED/CLEARED>>>>NOA1>>>>NOA2>>>>NVC>>>>Consulate/Embassy of the beneficiary>>>Packet 3 and 4 (medical and interview)>>>>VISA (if approved during the interview)...and follow other laws and regulations of the beneficiary's country before leaving..some countries the beneficiary needs to attend some conference or so before they can leave the country (like the Philippines).

  13. Hey guys,

NOA2 on September 19th. I actually just called NVC (I know, wishful thinking) and of course they haven't received my petition yet. The person I talked to was NOT very friendly. I guess customer service does not get any better with this process! I had to call 6 or 7 times to actually speak with someone too. Oh well, eventually it will get there!

BTW, my status online at USCIS still says I am pending too, but I got that hard copy in my hot little hands! I'm just glad to have one step done. On to the next!

kits, I really, really hope you get your approval this week. I can't believe how long they are making you wait. I read your story and I think, wow, you have such a strong case. I can't believe they gave you an RFE. But keep the faith, you will get approved and you will be with your love. I know how unbearable this has been for you, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I am praying you will get your good news by the end of this week. :)

Thank you Musicgirl0912.. Yes I was really surprised that they wanted more evidence since we have known each other since childhood. It's not like the usual case where I met her when I went back home like a year or two and asked her to marry me. And when I sent the requested evidence I was really hoping to get my NOA2 soon. But I guess my officer who is handling our case is either just too busy or could be slow. Whatever the reason maybe I wish he/she may see that TRUE LOVE exists between me and my fiancee.. just give me my NOA2 please please... so that you don't have to work on them anymore officer.. so you can get rid our case and start on others heheheh..

  14. Congratulations on your very quick approval. Did you make it already to NVC? Keep us posted. Well, when I called back in early September the person I talked to said it usually takes 30 days before they can get it out off their desks. I know it sais on the update that the time period they gave is 60 days from the RFE response that the case has resumed. I will call this Friday if I do not have my NOA2 yet and tell them that it's been more than 30 days. I will keep you posted and thank you very much nyblubird for the concern. I really appreciate you a lot and it feels good to have someone that do care. I wish you the best and God bless.

You're welcome. We're in this together to encourage one another. I plan to call NVC tomorrow (Thursday) night to see where our case is. I'm hoping they tell me it's on it's way to Liberia but we'll see. I'm praying that you get your Approval this week!

Thanks guys.. I still have today and till friday to hear from USCIS.. I am praying to have my NOA2 this week.

  15. I also have called yesterday (tuesday) and couldn't wait till friday ehehhe.. but anyways I talked to a nice guy and told him that 30 days have gone by after the case has resumed due to a RFE and he told me that the officer is reviewing it and should hear a final decision soon.. (but ofcourse soon could mean anytime now till who knows hehehe). But I'll be positive and hope that he is correct. Hopefully I pray that before this months ends I'll have my NOA2.. Thanks guys

  16. This just crossed my mind and would love to have your thoughts as well. There is this immigration attorney who is very well known and excellent in his cases and he is based in California but has a few locations as well including the Philippines. He also has a talk show called Citizen Pinoy which is aired by ABS-CBN, the biggest tv network in the Philippines and also broadcast their shows here in the US through Direct TV. His name is Michael J. Gurfinkel and my thought was can I still get an attorney even though I have submitted all the papers and just waiting for the NOA2?

Not that I am going to get him but this was just a thought and would love to have your opinion if this is possible. He has done lots of cases that were turned down by other attorneys and said that the cases were impossible and hopeless and turned them to green cards or whatever the cases were.

So I need your thoughts about this. If there is anyone here who is going to file for a I-129F visa and plans to have an attorney I recommend him. Here is his website: www.gurfinkel.com

Thanks guys and best of luck for us that are still waiting for our NOA2. God bless.

Personally, I think you should save your money until you know that a problem exists, where an attorney would be benefical. I know it is tough but hang in there. You are in my prayers. Good luck

Thank you all guys for the encouragement and for sharing your opinions.. thanks for the prayers as well.. I will keep you guys posted once I get a good news..

  17. Thank you ladywhite.. I just thank God for all the blessings even though me and my fiancee are going through tough times due to the long wait. I know it will come..and we are praying for the NOA2 and also for lots of patience and leave it to God.. our timing and the USCIS's timing may not be perfect..but God's timing is always perfect..not too early or too late..

You know, i read somewhere else that you planned on bringing your love in January 2008 ( After Christmas) if thats your plan anyway, i would not worry so much about not getting approved yet. you have nearly 4 months till that time to come, so why worry? you will be approved by then.

I want my baby to come to me now! and as soon as she gets her visa, she is coming the next day! so obviously were more on edge at waiting. But you have time cause thats what you wanted anyway. Right? so don't worry or get stressed out.

    Harout

Sorry buddy..most of us here, if not all, know before we all have filed for this type of petition that we have made plans and have expected dates to have your SO here. Like we all have a good idea that it takes atleast 6-8 months from filing to the arrival of SO here in the US. Unfortunately there are some that have to go through the hard way by waiting longer. Not everyone gets through this journey smoothly like most others have. I filed back in March and after 5 months got an RFE instead of a NOA2, which I can understand. But after the case has resumed it is still taking a lot of time even though for the fact that officers work on RFE first thing when they get to work. I have also searched some members here that had a RFE and took just days or a couple of weeks to get their NOA2. So you see, me and my fiancee are just having it the hard way, unfortunately. I'm already waiting 6 months for my NOA2 to come and I am aware as well that another 3-4 months before she gets here. NVC, medical, interview.. etc.. because of the wait that we are going through we have to keep pushing things back. I am very happy for those that had gone through this process the way it's suppose to be, withouth the extra long wait. A little encouragement wouldn't hurt and would be greatly appreciated. I was really expecting her to be hear around October because her birthday is in that month, or atleast before the end of the year. Well, I guess I go back and just keep waiting and praying. Thanks for those who have given me their understanding and encouragements.

I would also, try to remember, your going thru a high fraud country, and could take a bit longer than you are expecting. i sure hope not, i dont wish it on anyone, but dont expect a certain time when it comes to USCIS.

Well I am really not so sure if my country has a high fraud.. but if so then I'm so sad to know about that.. but anyways there are several here that have their So's in the Philippines and their cases went smoothly.. I guess it's really on each individuals case..some go smoothly and some just aren't.. thanks..
