  1. Hello to everyone. I used to post here back when my wife and I were still in the process of getting her here. Now we are happily married with a 2 year old boy and one on the way in 9 months hehehe. God has been so good. She took her Naturalization Interview/Test last year on December 8, 2011 and upto now we are waiting for the oath letter. During her interview, she requested to have her name changed because the name that they were going to use will not match with her married name and everything else that she currently has (license, green card..etc..). We live in Georgia so everything is done in Atlanta. Can anyone help us, especially those who went through in Atlanta to give us a good estimate on when she will receive her oath appointment letter? By the way, here is a help for those who are also zoned in Atlanta.. I have the link to where it shows the dates for the oath ceremony: http://www.gand.uscourts.gov/naturalization/

We are hoping that she will be in either Feb or March according to the schedule but we are not sure since she did a name change. I hope that it will not take longer than 2 months. Thank you.

  2. I hope you can help me with my situation. I am now filling out the affidavit of support (i-864)form and I have no clue what to put in the annual income section (questions 23, 24a & 24c) and this is the reason why. I just started a new job last year (2007 September) in USPS (United States Postal Service) so the most recent tax return is only for a few months (Setmember to December of 2007). So that won't be enough to make it to the poverty guide and my annual income was only for the months of September to December, but my per hour rate is way good enough to pass the poverty guide and to support my wife. Should I put down a good estimate how much I would be making annually according to my per hour rate in questions 23, 24a & 24c? There is a part in the form where I need to put the actual gross income from the IRS which is from September to December (question 25). For question 25 I know I need to put the amount from the IRS when I filed. So if I put an estimate of my annual income base on hourly rate in questions 23, 24a & 24c it will be larger than in question 25. They will not be exact. So what should I do? Should I put an estimate annual income base on my hourly rate? Please help. I am afraid that they may not grant or approve her green card. Thank you so much in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Kits

  4. On February 12, we will be departing to the US. What should we expect once we get to our POE in Detroit and what documents will they ask for?

Also, her parents and her brother will apply for a tourist visa after we leave and we know that they have a pretty good chance of getting it since their only reason to go is to witness their ONLY daughter's wedding. Besides the wedding invitation and a copy of Faith's visa, what else should we provide them for their interview? Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Kits & Faith

  5. Praise God once again. Today is January 10, a day after the interview, my fiancee got a call from the USEM and told her that she is scheduled to pick up her VISA tomorrow, January 11 at 9am. Praise God for His goodness. We never expected as well to get her VISA this quick. Thank you all for the help and support that you have given to us. God bless.

  6. Hello my fellow vjers...

First, me and my fiancee would like to give our deepest appreciation for all of your help and prayers, and for all the information that we have learned throughout this journey.

Yesterday, January 9, my fiancee went to the embassy for her interview. I'll go ahead and skip everything and go straight to the interview part.

When her number flashed, the consul (lady) was still interviewing a gentleman with the same type of visa application (K1) and she could hear her asking the guy so many questions and this made her feel more nervous. When it was her time she smiled and greeted her and the consul did the same. She told her to hold on for she was doing something with her computer. And then the questions began. TOTAL OF 4 QUESTIONS ONLY!!! THANK YOU GOD. Here are the questions:

1.) What does he do for living?

2.) Which state does he live in?

    3.) How did you meet?

    4.) Is he a Filipino?

She was very relieved and calmed because the consular and her had a CASUAL talk instead of an interview type of situation. On the third question about how we met, my fiancee told her that we met all the way back during our elementary years for we went to the same school til 6th grade. Then when the consular saw our class picture from the yearbook back in 1993 she was smiling so hard and chuckling and asked her to point where I was in the pictures and so was she. After showing her she laughed like in "kilig" way and said to her that we had a very beautiful love story for she hasn't encountered this before. So they started laughing together about that. Hehehe.. I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for answering our prayers.

After her interview she asked the consul if she could pick up her visa and all she said was..."OH SURE!!!" So she got the pink slip and filled out her contact information so when the visa is ready she can go ahead and pick it up. Now we are praying that the visa would be ready in a week for pick up.

FOR THOSE THAT ASKED FOR THEIR VISA TO BE PICKED UP, WHO CALLED OR TEXTED YOU? WAS IT STILL DELBROS OR THE EMBASSY? AND HOW LONG DID IT TAKE BEFORE THEY CONTACTED YOU? THANK YOU.

  7. Please pray for me and my fiancee. She will have her interview at 7:30am in USEM. Pray that our God will guide her and giver her wisdome and strenght. As well as the right responses and direct her to a nice pre-screener and consular. Thank you and we will share everything once she is APPROVED!!! Thank you guys and God bless.

  8. Hi Dezee..

I am not sure if I am correct.. if anyone can correct me please do.. Deezee you mentioned that you got a pink slip. I believe pink slips are for those that wants to pick up their visa in the embassy. Did your fiancee asked to pick up the visa? I hope you get your visa asap this month so you can go do the CFO thing and be with the love of your life...

  9. Yes, it depends where you are located in the Philippines. I was interviewed Sept 11. . got a text message from DELBROS Sept 13 that they were in the process of sending my visa and finally got it September 19. I resided in Mindanao but Dipolog City has daily flight to and from Manila.

Hi.. you said Delbros sent your fiancee a text message..is this something that they do to everyone or you have to request for them to send you a text message or after paying delbros in the embassy once approved.. you provide your cell number in order for them to text you? Thank you..

  10. I guess it depends on what you declare when you ship stuff through Fedex. Here's what I do all the time. When I ship something to the Philippines I don't mention anything that has a risk of getting stolen or will be an interest to the potential theft. In other words if I was shipping a letter and a portable dvd player I would replace the dvd player with something like books. I never had problems of doing this, and more likely the box would never be opened. I guess the bottom line is it doesn't matter what courier you use, it's the DESTINATION hehehe. OH well, it happens.

  11. If I am correct, delbros is the one responsible for delivering the Visa's but I'm not sure if they use DHL or they use their own people. Anyways, once approved in the interview can you call Delbros and find out if it has been dispatched or when will it arrived? I'm trying to anticipate everyhing and I don't want to purchase a ticket for both of us and the visa won't make it on time. I've noticed though that most of the members here get their visa in a week depending on the location. In some provinces could take two weeks. My fiancee lives in Imus, Cavite do you guys have an idea if it will take a long time for her to receive it or is it just better to pick it up?

  12. I feel the same way with you coz I also had to wait 2 months already after my interview and my visa is still not yet released from the embassy. I know its so hard to wait but just continue to be patient and you'll persevere. Don't loose hope coz you're almost at the end of the journey and be with your loved one soon. Keep the faith and hang on!

    deezee...

I was just wondering.. is this normal? Like waiting this long to get the visa after the interview? What was the reason on your situation? I've seen that most if not everyone, gets their visa in a week delivered or two weeks depending on the location. And if the consul approves the request for visa pick up you can have it in two to three days. Thanks..

  13. Just a little tip for everyone here. It is very sad to say as a Filipino that our country really is filled with people who do wrong or bad things. That's why our country never gets better. That's just the fact, but I still love my country. So, whatever you send to the Philippines you are more likely to take the risk of either delays or simply not getting it delivered because whoever works for the postal and noticed that the package came from the US or any other countries opens your package or letters and when found nothing they want or do find something.. they will throw it away afterwards. They get away with these kind of stuff too..ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES..here if you get caught and work for the USPS.. it's a FEDERAL OFFENSE..

Basically, you're lucky if the employee in the post office who received and who is going to deliver the package is a GOOD person or someone who has a conscience. Hehehe.. oh well.. I have always used fedex and it gets there in no time with REAL TRACKING. Tells you where it is and when it has left a certain location and they call the recipient when they are about to deliver and when they can't find the place.

  14. hello.. does everyone have to do this? My fiancee did the same and she got a reply saying that her first and middle name NOT MATCH? It's like haller do they know better what's her real name? Or it because they don't have a record of her because she don't need to do this because she got her packet before they implied this new rule? So what's the deal? we are confused.. i sent them another text on behalf of my fiancee through chikka and I'll wait and see if I will get the same reply from them.. thanks guys..

  15. Hello guys.. I'm kinda confused with this new update. The first message said that if you have an interview already you don't have to do this. We have an interview date of January 9 of next year, so do we still have to pay this amount? Why can't they just add that to the fees since it could cause some delay in case on the day of the interview they may ask for it. Let me know..thanks.

  16. Fellow Vjers,

I am going to start filling up the I-134 form and get it notorized. Also, I am going to make copies of all the stuff I sent to USCIS when we first applied and also the RFE documents we sent. Can anyone tell me what are the documents I need to include with the I-134? Like what did you petitioners sent to your fiance/fiancee besides the I-134 and copies of documents you sent when you first applied?

I am also going to use my sister as a co-sponsor. I know for a fact that she needs to fill out I-134 as well and have it notorized. So whatever evidence you guys will suggest that I must include, she MUST include as well? Please I need your help. Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,

    Kits & Faith

  17. My wife has a wonderful voice but don't have a clue as to how to get her into using it as a profession

Maybe a video on YouTube or singing at karoke at a popular spot. Even trying for a spot on American Idol. Anything to get her in a position to be "discovered". Good luck.

I'm not sure if you guys are kinda behind the news. But I'll be glad to inform you. Charice already did a an album in Sweden and just waiting for the release. Also, she will be flying to the US to be on the Ellen Degeneres show sometime this november and will also have an album through MCA Records, a US recording company. Go go CHARICE. We are proud of you!!!
