You can enter an AKA in your online profile. But be prepared with documentation regarding that AKA when you go to NBI for your appointment. Like an annotated birth certificate, court documents for legal name change, or old passports listing the AKA name.
In my case, I'm using my maiden name on my passport, but listed my married name as my AKA name in my NBI profile. The NBI staff did not accept it (I have no official documents listing my married name) and erased the AKA entry from my profile.
Yes, I did that in the NBI profile and we also have all documents with regards to the name change (Local Civil Registry, Court Proceedings etc). Husband did not really use the name on any public document. It just bothers me that it says "even if you did not use the name" , the AKA should be there.
So one should go appear in any NBI office, right? It will not add the AKA on the clearance when you clicked on Renew NBI Clearance?

To those who tried to renew the NBI online by editing the NBI profile, did you get the NBI clearance with the AKA on it?
Or, one should really go to any NBI branch to have the AKA?
TIA.

Help desk is useless. I think they just merely send an email to whomever is scheduling at USEM and of course emails are just piling up over there.
Yes!
Also, starting May 1, 2021, All inquiries should now be sent using the form --

Any luck?
No action! It's been 6-7 weeks!

The problem is - they keep accepting new applications from NVC esp. for the priority cases like IR/CR. They didn't figure it out yet that they should be processing all backlogs already IN THE EMBASSY.

Thank you @angeljolie!
@Lotherest - No action! I called yesterday and they put up another escalation! Whew!

I read of someone who contacted the embassy on Mar 1 and received canned responses whenever she followed up until Apr 1 when she received an interview date for May 26.
Oh, that maybe IR/CR type of visas. This is really being processed by USEM.
Our visa category is F3 and it is expedited since last yr with an interview date but was canceled. We already did the medical last yr so it is due for remedical.
I also get a lot of auto reply everyday when I send a follow up. Whew!

Any news @Mareng @Lotherest and @Immigirl22?
I'm also trying to reschedule my appointment but have not heard from USEM besides their auto reply. It's been 12 days since I emailed them.
No news from my side! My escalation is up there since April 1. I was told it has reached the higher office but I asked around and they were told the same thing. Hilarious!

Did you also receive a case reference #?
I received a case reference # and the same confirmation email that you received.
Yes, I received the case reference number.

But did they email you back?
Just the confirmation email that the case was escalated. After that, no action/response.

My escalation request is since April 1, until now it is still OPEN as they say. I stopped calling the USEM call center because their response is generic.

Do you know how long did it change to Expired from Expiring Soon?
Mine says Expiring soon as well. I already informed US embassy but there is no action to revert the status.
Sigh.

I just checked the CEAC website and it says that our K1 is expired. However, we were not able to schedule an interview since the approval in March due to Covid.
I am worried because it says that they destroyed our Petition. See below:
You have been notified that your registration for an immigrant visa was cancelled, and any petition approved on your behalf was also cancelled. We informed you that your application might be reinstated if, within one year, you could establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control.
Since you have failed to do so, the record of your registration and any petition approved on your behalf and all supporting documents have been destroyed; any Department of Labor certification has been returned to your prospective employer.
If you are still interested in obtaining an immigrant visa, the petitioner should contact the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding filing a new immigrant visa petition. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.Any update on this? Did US Embassy change your status? I want to know because our visa status says "Expiring Soon".

Do you have to have a confirmed interview at the Embassy before being able to make a SLEC appointment online?
No, I think it is fine and they will ask you to sign a waiver.

Hi VJ's,
My son's interview is scheduled April 6 and when he was doing online scheduling the earliest preferred date is April 5. SLEC emailed me saying they accept walk in but only after all scheduled applicants are done. Having said this, and for those who have experience in doing walk in, is it still advised to go there early (knowing that they will give preference to those who scheduled first? Thank you!
Please check SLEC online appointment site from time to time because there are some dates that free up (maybe the one who scheduled an appointment canceled). If he is lucky, he can get a schedule late March 🙂

Same here! It is supposed to be our scheduled interview on March 17, 2020 but then it was canceled!
I don't even think another interview schedule will arrive soon because our visa category is not a priority. But I remain hopeful.
Deep sigh.

Since these visas are not mission critical, nothing will begin until resumption of routine visa processing
I understand. I hope they will resume asap.
By the way, we were expedited for an interview last year. As per their instruction, as soon as the PP10014 is lifted, we can reschedule our interview. But still to no avail. Whew!

Hi everyone! We had our medical a year ago but since it expired, we need to get a new one.
For those who recently went through the medical exam or especially for those who did a repeat medical (bec the previous one expired), may I know how long would it take now to finish everything at SLEC?
I checked the online registration now and was surprised that the earliest to book is March 24, 2021 already.
Thanks!

Hi everyone! We are supposed to have our interview on March 17, 2020 but was canceled. I've been trying to reach the US embassy to reschedule but to no avail.
I am curious who among those who had canceled interviews from March 2020 to present (and were affected by the PP10014) already rescheduled or was issued a new interview date from the US embassy?
Let us update each other here.
Thanks!

This doesn't mention anything about the current immigration ban Trump put on for certain visa types till the end of this year. Such as F3 family Visa's which is adult children of US citizens. We had our interview scheduled 5 days before they shut everything down cause of the pandemic and our consulate (in Montreal Canada) hasn't been able to reschedule it until this ban is lifted.
Again the ban ends at the end of December but do we know if Biden intends to extend it longer? (Initially the ban was only for a few months but Trump extended it till the end of the year).
We are hopeful he won't extend it and we can finally have our interview rescheduled and move next year.
We are on the same page! I am also waiting to know if the Executive order will end by December 31, 2020.

Hello!
Do you know how many days now does the Medical Exam take you to finish?
We are about to do our medical exam for the 2nd time (1st one was expired) and would like to prepare.
The 1st medical exam took us 2 days (with 1 child) to complete.
I would appreciate any info.
Thank you.
NBI AKA
in Philippines
Posted
Sorry, not court proceedings but the Affidavit of Discrepancy document signed by the Local Civil Registry.
We were able to edit ihis profile and add the AKA and requested a new copy using "Renewal". Let's see if we will get a copy with the AKA on it.
I will update if successful, otherwise, I will book him an appointment with NBI branch.
