  1. ooook let's not get carried away here, some of those are way weird

    1. Who is d Petitioner?

    2. What does He/She do in USA?

    3. When did He/She last met u? not sure about this one

    4. When dis He/She went US and how? why would they ask when the USC petitioner went to the US?

5.What r His/Her hobby? since there's no way to verify this i doubt it's ever going to be asked !! lool

6.Who else stay in US along with Petitioner?

    7. Show some Family pics never heard of F1 asked that

    8. Whats d name of Company where Petitioner works?

What r His/Her job timing? I doubt that's ever going to be asked

    9. Are u Married?

    10. What do u do here?

    11. Who else stays wit u ?

    12. When do u plan to go USA? wouldn't that be "once I have the visa" for everyone???

Guys these r general questions in F1 Category, Where did you hear that those were asked generally to F1s exactly???

If u hav any other questions do post here.

It can be helpful to all of us.

It may be specific to India, but in any case there are topics and parts of the forum specially for interview questions, let's not clutter this one here ok? please

  2. Thank you guys, leaving her there I dont think so lol it was always just me and her.

But what's this about working 10 years, haven't others old parents got their visa? She's got her own retirement money and money aside she was never gonna use anything that's not for her to use French expatriates have z way to get French social security abroad.

Where in the process wouldn't they let her? The medical?

  3. Hello,

I was wondering : I know as a permanent resident you can petition for some people in your family but not your parents.

Have you guys heard of any special circumstances cases when it happened? For exemple, my mother who is alone has alzheimer's. It's not full on but I'm scared of leaving her behind for 3 to 4 years.

Have you heard of people being able to bring one parent if they can't function alone? or maybe if she became legally dependant on me, like if we got me responsible for her... something legal like that.

So yeah, just wondering if you guys ever heard of any "special cases" existing when it came to permanent residents and a parent.

    Thank you for your help.

  4. That would make sense.. in the F4 category... likely a petition that was filed some 15-20 years ago... the officer could have granted the approval however wanted to confirm that the relationship still exists and the petitioner is till living. In F1, F2A, F2B, IR2 categories .. photos are usually not necessary.

Yes that's what i thought too, Proving a rlp between parent and children is usually done with just a Birth certificate.

  5. the only question the consulate can ask u is "so u were married zero times?" if it's the truth u're fine

here is just not the place to ask that, and what puru meant is if u were uncomfortable writing zero u should have printed it and filled it by hand instead of sending it like that if u were scared u'd have problems because of it

case closed, off topic done, thank you

  6. since PD is oct 15 and this guy is dec 9 that's barely more than a month and a half, their regular speed lately. pfff

btw i called the NVC AND the USCIS to ask about starting a fiance Visa while this one is still pending, i was told basically one cancels the other. and the NVC guy who seemed to not know much about how it goes told me well the current PD is 2004 u're 2006 so that's 2 years away (shows he didn't notice it moves 1 1/2 month at a time and not 1 month) telling me that fiance visa would certainly issue first.

My question here now is, if i do go that way and it issues and i move before this F1 does, and i get married etc... i forgot what happens after that. What type of visa do i get? how long does it last? i get married then adjust my status then what does that make me? and then how long till i become a permanent resident for 10 years? how long till i can petition for my mom? how long till i can become a full citizen?

and im wondering all that compared to what i have to do after i get my F1 visa.

it just seems it's way less of a hassle with a F1 visa than a fiance visa.

Lord Jesus please make it go faster !!!

  7. All i know is i might go the fiance route if it doesn't go faster by next fiscal year.

it's just ridiculous, after all this time. And this "law" better not affect it !!

Do you guys think if i use the fiance visa and get married to my USC fiance i'll still get my visa through my dad once my PD gets current?

If the PD gets current wile I'm waiting for the fiance visa I'm going the family visa way.

I guess I'll call NVC and ask.

SMH the slow movement is just a big cloud of shame over them. BIG SHAME !!

  8. Personally i am having a VERY VERY hard time thinking they could adopt that speed and keep with it.

That would P... me off ! I mean they woke me up to pay their 400$ summer of 2010. now summer of 2011 has come and gone. and if they keep up with that speed of 1 month something every month we're looking at end of 2012 beginning of 2013.

Don't they have no shame? i mean don't you think after this whole mess they'd try to at least go a lil faster than that? hire some people? do something?

In the âst every time there was a retro it was back to "normal" (meaning the date right before the retro) with the first bulletin of the fiscal year. This too has come and gone and no jump.

    That's totally unacceptable ! I just don't get it...

  9. Don't you think you should edit the first post instead of copying and pasting every time in a new post?

I mean it's not like the historics of that is that interesting to keep...

you could just add a reply saying "first post edited to add : ..." so that we get the email notification.

    Wouldn't that be enough?

oh unless this site doesn't let you after a certain time. If that' the case sorry i said anything
