  1. i got my EAD on May 10, 2009, but it was touched today, june 30, 2009,

then i received a notification from CRIS last June 23, 2009 stating that card production has been ordered for my i-485 application,

then i got another notification from CRIS last june 24, 2009 stating the same thing, card production ordered,

and what's freaking me out now is that i got another notification from them today, june 30, 2009, stating that my case (i-485) has been transferred to CSC to speed up the processing of my case, what the h*ll was that?

My case was transferred to CSC, but without an approval, and is now out of processing for quite some time. Still nothing.

USCIS is just .. bonkers as far as I can tell.

  2. There are still a few of us hanging around. If we don't hear anything soon (like in a couple of weeks) we will ask the congressman to intervene. Other than receiving the EAD and AP in early January there has been no action on our case that we can see.

An inquiry sent to CSC two months ago resulted in a response that "your case is currently being reviewed by an officer" which to me translates to "we don't know where it is, on someone's desk we hope, and we are too lazy to go look for it"

Good luck to all still waiting

have you recieved any word yet?

  3. Quick question-

We filed for AOS and the EAD... we recieved a letter for a biometrics appointment, and went. We just got an appointment for a 2nd biometrics appointment.

Is there any way to get out of going for a second appointment? We already went!

We called the USCIS line and the person said.. no you have to go.

    ... why?

One is for EAD and one is for AOS... if go to the first appointment with both notices and get it all done in one visit other wise you need to go a second time

We brought both notices WITH us (and added it on the paperwork), but apparently USCIS scheduling is different. Oh well.

  4. It's inconvenient, but USCIS must have a reason -- maybe the fingerprints weren't up to standard, or something.

... That's certainly possible. My husband has worked with chemicals and hot objects for many years and has a lot skin damage on his right hand. All right.

We'll have to reschedule for now- its scheduled for 9AM and its many hours away and I can't afford a Manhattan hotel! but, that's what we'll do.

    Go.

Thanks guys! You are all completely awesome.

  5. Hi Guys

I got an RFE for tax documents with the I-485. It did not state fi they wanted Pete's tax documents from last year from England, or whether they were interested in MINE? Anyway, the new menu is .. impossible.

How do you get a human?

Any help you guys could spare would be hugely appreciated!

Who prepared/signed the I-864? The USC...

I'm sorry. I prepared the I-864 with copies of my 2005, 2006, and 2007 1040-A's, as well as all my W-2s. ... They said they wanted the most recent tax document. .... I sent that! (They also asked for a copy of his Birth certificate which was also present in the packet).

The reason they do not care about the alien's income because it is not expected to continue from the same source... Sounds like you provided it... maybe just send it again....

Thanks. I appreciate you guys' input. :)

  7. My husband's I-765 was rejected, because it was out of date. ... but the most recent one on the uscis website (which was silly of me to assume was up to date  ) expired 8/31/08... does anybody know where the latest edition of this form is, or have a copy they could share?

    Thanks!

The I-485 I-765 on USCIS's website is acceptable (upper left says "OMB No. 1615-0023; Expires 09/30/08""OMB No. 1615-0040; Expires 08/31/08") - The code is misleading because it simply isn't expired. What was the rejection notice's exact wording?

It wasn't the I-485, it was the I-765.

USCIS has not propagated a new version "Form I-765 (Rev. 05/27/08) N" is still valid.

Aha! Ours was revised 4/4/08. Thanks guys!!

  9. Our I-94 expired on Oct. 7th 2008 and we were married within the time frame (Oct. 4th). We went in to get our social security card before we were married but it was too close to the date it would expire so they told us to come back after we got married, which we did but they still didnt issue a card. The guy said we need to get a new I-94 in order to file for a social card. Is this required, do we have to order a new form from USCIS for $320? I thought i read in here somewhere that I-94's cant be renewed. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Sam

You can't 'renew' an I-94 - at this point you will need to wait until you get the green card or the EAD (if you applied for one) then reapply for the Social Security Card/Number.

You just saved me a heart attack. I didnt' even know you COULD apply for that before your I-94 expired and had a mini-panic that the window had closed.

We filed for our EAD, guess we'll have to wait.

  10. Hi Guys

So I've been compiling the AOS packet. For the I693A .. do I need to bring all his old records with him? He swears that the sealed envelope was kept at Immigration and that he wasn't given it back. (This contained the DS-3025 no?? I"m not sure I never got to see it, obviously.) Also am I the only person that can't seem to get the site open to locate a civil surgeon? I just "cannot be shown" every single time!:crying:

Anyone that clarify this will get free internet brownies!

  11. Have you called DOS to see if it was sent and lost in the mail? I only ask cos there is long history of stuff getting lost from the embassy?

I called last week and they said it was under review. Today, they just said, no nothing scheduled. Call back soon.

We sent our packet 3 five days before you...doesn't make any sense that you don't have your packet 4 by now....I guess calling is the only thing to do...

Can you direct call the embassy to see what's up? Presumably they dont' ship the papers to the States for processing.

  13. newenglander, you seem to be having a bit of trouble posting - if you find you're getting lots of double posts, as seems to be happening in this thread, you might want to try clicking on 'Add Reply' (middle button at the VERY END of the conversation, not in anyone's post) which will avoid that happening ;)

I'd be very interested in hearing the outcome of the Manchester question as well! specially as, as someone said earlier, there isn't even a US embassy there... I wonder who your fiancé spoke to when he rang?

No packet 4 yet! but we're getting ready.

... How much is the actual visa? I've seen it around but I can't seem to find it.

    $131 is the fee.

    Thanks Julez. You rock! :)
