I'm sitting at day 140!!!!!! thought I would see something by now!! nothing unforunately!!!! ahh well!!

I am at day 137. I am hoping the rest of us May filers get approved this month. Maybe we will see a bunch tomorrow. Pleassssssssssssssssse!

best of luck to the rest of us may filers!

  2. Just want to know if there is a California service center number to call? Does any one also know a idea about what day of the month of May do they think they are processing now? Just needing a idea or good guess. My wife and like all others are very anxious. My wife is starting to make me nervous. I'm doing what I can... God bless each and everyone of you as we share this pain together.

My priority date is May 19, 2007

    ===========

My noa 2 just came on fri so you should be close!

must be nice!!!!!!! Congrats!! lets see more of dis!

  3. Well, I am happy to annouce my wife has finally made it here. She received her K-3 visa (passport and paperwork packet) on Sept 28. That is 13 working days (or 17 days) from the interview date, where they told us 7-10 days. By the grace of Allah, her POE experience was very smooth, infact we were done in 10 minutes. The border agent did not ask any questions from her, just from me as I had filled out the customs card and put my information on it. All in all a very smooth and pleasant experience. Wishing all folks, all the best and a speedy reunion with their loved ones. Thanks for all your support.

    GREAT NEWS!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

  4. I wasn't sure if I should post this or not because I don't want to raise anyone's hopes too much, so please take this information with a grain of salt. :)

I called CSC yesterday using the RFE trick & talked to a VERY nice man. He said my case had not been assigned yet, but that it would be very soon. He then told me that the latest cases to be assigned were dated 5/17/07!!! I asked if I could expect to hear something in the next 2 weeks & he said he thought so. I know that isn't any kind of guanantee, but just knowing my petition isn't lost is comforting!

Also, to maybe help clear up the whole "how do they prioritize petitions" questions: I mailed my petition 5/15 & it was received/signed for on 5/18, but the csc guy said my petition was dated 5/21 which is the date on my USCIS account page (and supposedly on my NOA1, but I never received the hard copy).

Hang in there guys, with luck we will be moving forward soon! ;)

hey Ktjett!!! Thats interesting that guy told you they were working on cases from 5/17/07 becuase when I called on Tuesday (I think), the lady I talked too was very nice as well and she told me they were working on cases that were submitted on 5/24//2007! That is exactly a week off from each other! wonder if one of the people we talked to had misread the calender or something!!!! but just wanted to put this out there!!! My NOA1 was priority date of 5/23 but the site tells 5/29, so it must be when CSC receives them and NOT when TSC receives them! which is kinda BS for us that sent to TSC cause we lose those few days of transition!!! just another messed up thing w/ the system!!!

    thats my 2cents for today!!!

good luck to the rest of us may filers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Hi Scott..first of all congratulations.. 2nd is can you tell me how can you actually speak to an officer instead to a USCIS customer rep? As far as I am aware most of us that had tried the RFE trick ended up speaking to someone who doesn't really know a thing. Thank you.

This is a prompt list that will save you phone time since you may have to call several times before you are connected to the service center...if at the end of the prompts a message tells you there are no officers available to take your call you will be transferred to the national call center (this is a waste of time) just hang up and keep trying to get an officer...it took me about 20 tries so don't give up !!!

    Call 1-800-3755283

Listen for the choices and follow these steps ...i other words for the first choice press 1, second choice press 2, then 2, then 4, then 2, then 1, then put in your case number ( EAC or WAC AND THE NUMBER) then 1, and last 1....the last one will connect you with a live operator...then you say you are calling to inquire about the RFE ( request for evidence ). Tell the officer that my lawyer told me i had an RFE and you want to know what they are looking for.

This works...I've used it twice and it worked both times.

    Scott

    Thanks a lot Scott

I just did the RFE trick and got more info than I had previously gotten!!! Usually they just reread to me whats on the USCIS site and be about it! but this lady for foreign, perhaps hispanic from the accent but great English and very helpfull!!! she took her time to ask someone if my case had been missed or whatnot and she told me they are currently working on cases submitted on MAY 24 I'm not far from there!!! My submission date to CSC was according to online May 29, so I have a weeek or so left (AT LEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

just thought you all would find this helpful! sorry if its a repost! still a newbie! tryin to contribute what lil i know!!!

  6. heartily agree with the first comment, about asylum seekers and those in danger; I'll willingly wait months more if that's the reason

the second thing - well, I guess it's the famous sarcasm, so maybe not meant to be taken literally, but as I read doug & angel's post, the 'going out of business' comment referred to similar proposals in the world of commerce... I thought his comment was quite measured, actually, and doesn't need to be responded to snidely, but each to their own :)

haven't read the document in detail yet - though I did scan it - and haven't reached the 20% figure yet, so I'm interested to know it's there; thank you :)

The sarcastic point is this - what would we all do if there was no immigration allowed? The powers that be don't HAVE to let foreign born citizens in, you know. Indeed, there is probably a dark enough political tide in this country towards such a school of thought.

Much of what I post is intended to give the posters and readers pause to think. There is loads of grumbling about service and wait times. My husband and I grumbled and worried our way through a 17-month greencard filing, so I personally have experienced the delays of the system. But the fact remains - this IS the system. It does function, albeit slowly, and gets the job done.

I worry more about the law and political mindset in this nation towards immigrants than I do the system that is trying to process them. Each of you petitioning to bring a foreign-born person to this nation would be well served to think long and hard about your loved ones life once they get here. Amnesty has affected the perception of immigrants in this country and your loved one may experience reactions from less-than-thoughtful members of our society.

Immigration is more than getting a visa - it's an ongoing paper shuffling process, true - but it's far more than that. You are bringing someone to a new land. The adjustments from that and its ramifications will last your entire life. If you are so impatient that you find the visa process tiresome, I suggest you don't have the patience to be married to someone who will themselves need your support and encouragement in making a life-changing transition.

though i agree with your entire post, with all due respect, your 17 month wait to your green card was not while you were separated from your husband with you in the UK. your timeline processing was very fast to unite you two. We are just grumbling to receive the same treatment. let the process slow down once my fiance is here with me and we are married. i can wait 3 years on her green card no problem. waiting 140 days for a NOA2 is insane when previously people were approved under a month as you were. And i am sure if you had met with the delays we are getting during the first stage of processing you would have grumbled just as loudly as the rest of us, being separated from your husband indefinately.

that is what you fail to understand. I am fully prepared to help my future wife adjust to life in a new culture and country, but in order to do that, she needs to be able to come here.

    Chris

Well put Chris! I completely agree with you! waiting a month for processing then having your SO with you is not a problem! waiting many months is when you start to feel the pain! Its something one would never understand until you go through it!!!! But there are always "those" peeople who think they know how it feels but actually have no idea!!!

  7. My NOA1 date is May 14...am I getting left behind somewhere?

Yeah, i dont think they go in order of receipt as they claim! at least not 100% of the time! and I'm sure some are faster than others!!

hopefully they push a lot out this week since its the end of month! they might have to raise there quota as cops do for traffic violations!!!

still new to all this but in the same holding pattern as many others!!!! My Priority date on my NOA1 is may 23!!!!!! hope I get approved soon!!!!! as well as the rest of us may filers so June forum can start getting there approval on!!!!!!!!!

  8. CONGRATS TO SCOTT !!!

 However on our part we are a bit low really, after 156 Days and one RFE at the very start, We just now got an email from Cris saying we got an RFE AGAIN !!!

Seems insane to me that they could have had it for this long without looking through it and listing what they need

OH well have to just pick ourselves up and move on and try to look at this as a step forward.

CONGRATS AGAIN AND HOPE MORE APPROVALS COME THROUGH

hey shadow42!! sorry to hear about the RFE's!!! thats the worst!! I was curious what you got RFE's for?? Wanted to see if I had missed something in my application and could possibly prepare what i may need.

sadly, my application is still on some shelf some where in CSC, my priority date on my NOA1 is 05/23, so looks like i have at least 2 weeks or maybe 2 1/2 weeks 'til approval!!!! was hoping my SO would be able to come back w/ me in Jan on my return visit but thats not looking very good!!!!!!!

I have mailed my 8 letters so far...I hope everyone else has mailed their senators, congressman, and other key Government figures and media outlets.

Zee, I have noticed that although you received your NOA 2, you still wrote your letters...just wanted to say thanks for all of us still waiting and also those who come after us. Best regards.

What letters did you guys mail to your senators/congressmen?? With regards to the "fast" (sarcasm) processing of the Visa's?? If so, is there a document on this site for the letter, kinda like what there was for the filing??? I am all about putting pressure on our congress to speed things up, even if it doesn't help my case it can help later cases and also maybe have them review the entire process to simplfy it! (doubtful, as they just increased the cost, that would of been the time to do that as well!!!)

  10. OK just came back....had to run ut and get some calling cards...My case is in Vermont and the RFE trick worked today...got lucky with a nice girl...ok this is how you should do it.

    Call 1-800-3755283

Listen for the choices and follow these steps ...i other words for the first choice press 1, second choice press 2, then 2, then 4, then 2, then 1, then put in your case number ( EAC AND THE NUMBER OR WAC AND THE NUMBER) then 1, and last 1....the last one will connect you with a live operator...then you say you are calling to inquire about the RFE ( request for evidence ) you got, baically you want to know what they are looking for. They will probably say that they havent issued one and thats when you ask what is the status of your case...say some dumb things like..." someone told me that after a certain amount of time waiting it meant that i have an RFE" or " My lawyer told me i had an RFE" say anything to make them think that you are not playing a trick on them.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your the man Byron!!!! Thanks a lot for you help!! sorry for the spam of two postings back-to-back!!!!!

think i'm goin to wait a week and try it cuase i called about 2 weeks ago so I dont wanna be "That guy"

    thanks again!!!

  11. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST TRIED THE RFE TRICK...I HAD RIED IT 3 WEEKS AGO AND THEY SAID THAT THE CASE WAS STILL WAITING TO BE LOOKED AT...WELL TODAY THEY SAID ....IT IS WITH AN OFFICER AND I SHOULD BE HEARING SOMETHING SHORTLY....

  13. What kinda things can I go ahead and prepare here on my end that she will need?

Thanks a lot for your help Kim!!!

Things like your pictures with her, proof of phone bills that you were calling her, greeting cards, emails, log of online chat, etc etc

The pictures with her -- I sent these in with the original application! All pictures that I have with her from our engagement ceremony, to the few days I was there afterwards.

Proof of Phone Bills -- I sent in what I had upto my submission time with my originigal application. I have been keeping all records since then as well, I have our history logs from Skype convo's to our E-mails in GMAIL also. I sent what i had with at the time with the original application as well!!

does anyone know if you can get anything official or somewhat official or anything on Skype history?? I have been doing screen shots of the history and just printing those out! not very professional, but only thing I could think of. Can you easily print the history from Skype??

Thanks Kim! your tons of help!!!!

  14. Sallam everybody!

I just found out about this thread from another post I had in the "Asian: South." I am in the process of getting my fiancee here on a Fiancee Visa, I am still waiting on approval from the US side, haven't recieved the NOA2 yet, hope to have it by the end of the month but thats even pushing it!

I am going to Lahore this December and was hoping she would be able to come back with me on Jan. 5 when I leave Lahore. Is this even possible?

Her sister got her Visa Stamped on her passport and everything in about 6months, this was about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. But with everything going on in our country not sure how this will pan out for me!

Any information you all have would be great!!!

    Thanks!!!!

Welcome to theISB forum. I am not sure if your case has been approved because your timeline says approved, but you are saying that you are still waiting?? Anyway, from what I have learned on this forum, the wait time for K1 and K3 interview in Islamabad is about 4 montsh(maximum), so let us say that file your fiance's file reaches Isb on Oct 1, then her interview is probably going to be in Jan 2008, but then, they can also put you on Admin Processing after the interview and that could take from few weeks to couple of months. Yes, I am sorry. I don't like this waitng game either, but there is nothing we can do about it. Good luck to you! Regards, kim!!

yeah, my signature was a bit confusing so I changed it! I am still waiting for my NOA2. 4 months seems to be pretty extreme!!! its going to suck to go to Pakistan in hopes of her coming back with me but then coming back alone! Why would they put the file on Admin Processing?? Just to look over the file some more?? Are most cases taking about 4 months? or are some going a bit faster?? Is there ANY way to expedite this??? Any additional fees I could pay or anything??

What kinda things can I go ahead and prepare here on my end that she will need?

Thanks a lot for your help Kim!!!
