Just makes sure you bring all originals documents uploaded... Check the remarks on your nbi clearance. It is very important.. If the remarks is (no record on file or no deragatory record) you are Okey... But if your remarks is (no criminal record) expect a 221g..your birth certificates... Makes sure you corrected all the mistakes PSO, and get a Certificate of no merriage in PSO if you are 18 years old and above. to avoid delay..

    What's nbi, 221g and PSO?

  2. @Letspaintcookies won't this new ds260 put back to the front of the line?

You can always fill and submit another ds260 if that would make you feel better. Don't need to pay the fees again, just email nvc and let them know about it and the number of the new form. The new form should get updated automatically in their system but better safe than sorry 😊

Won;t this new ds260 put me back to the front of the line?

  3. On the section of the DS260 that asks to put social media handles, my mom left a letter off one of my social media handles. She called NVC to ask them to reopen the form to make the correction but they said it was not a critical error. She asked if the error should be made known at the interview and the agent said yes. However I am a bit worried. Has anyone has any experiences with making a mistake on the DS260 and informing the CO at the interview. @dwheels76 any advice? I'm new to the forum but I have noticed in other topics you seem to be very knowledgeable.

No that’s not what she meant, I think she meant, it will take about 101 months for a visa to be available for an unmarried child of a usc over 21yrs. The approval will come before then.

She simply stated what’s in the uscis case processing time in the uscis website, it’s just a general approximation.

Ok. All we can continue to do is wait patiently and hope for the best.

  5. Wow...so that’s 8 years before an approval

Well, I gave them a call today, a woman picked, and below is our conversation:

    me: hello

center: Good morning, how may I help you?

me: I call to know the status of my case and why it has not been approved?

    center: what’s your receipt number

    me: I stated it

    center: what’s your last name?

    me: I told her

    center: are you the petitioner?
    Me: no

center: well, since you are not the petitioner, I can not tell you any further information but I can tell you how long your case will take to process.
me: really, so you can’t tell me why my case haven’t been approved?
    center: yes please

me: ok. So how long will the case take to process since that’s all you can tell me.

center: is your petitioner a citizen?
    me: yes

    center: are you married?
    me: no

    center: hold on a sec

center: it will take 101 months to process.

That was our conversation today! Hope this help someone

Wow so that’s approx 8 years before an approval

I’ve similar issue as well, my PD is Nov 2014, and my processing center is Vermont. They only sent the receipt notice and up till now, I’ve not received the approval notice.

I have a friend whose processing center was also Vermont, her Pd was Feb 2013, she got her approval notice 2015..

I also have another friend i met on this forum, his Pd was Dec 2013, he’s yet to get his approval notice as we speak.

I really don’t know what’s wrong with Vermont center.. we really need someone to shed more light on what to do now please.

Did you try contacting them? I also have an acquaintance who received his NOA 3 months after his receipt notice. I’m very confused and I don’t know what to do. I have even contacted lawyers for advice and they keep saying the centers are backlogged. Please let’s keep in touch.

    USCIS shows (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/😞

78 Months to 101.5 Months (U.S. citizen filing for an unmarried son or daughter over 21)

    Inquiry Date: June 13, 2011

So technically you're still within normal processing timelines for the I-130. That said, it might not be a bad idea to submit a case inquiry anyway...most similar cases tend to be processed at CSC instead, which is only 47 to 61 months instead.

Thanks for replying. I did submit a case inquiry, and the response was we're still reviewing your case and we will mail you a response once we have made a decision. The thing is on the visa bulletin my priority date is current on the dates for filing section and less than 6 months from being current in the Final Action section so the fact that I haven't received the NOA is bit concerning.

  8. Hi,

It's been over 6 years since my citizen parent petitioned for me (unmarried over 21). I have only received the receipt notice with the priority date and I am yet to receive the notice of approval. I checked the visa bulletin for October 2019 and my priority is less than 6 months from being current. Is this delay normal? Can anyone shed some light on this delay? Thanks in advance.
