My experience with the USCIS mis-information line has been poor and we live 3 hours drive one way away from an info-pass. I used the "Did not receive a notice by mail" form and got results. It may have been coincidental, but I do not think so.

I tried to put in a request today on the USCIS website for being outside the Chicago N400 processing time of 5 months. My wife's priority date on her NOA is 3/27/14. The website said she was still within normal processing date and a request could not be made. I wonder how they are doing their math?

For an update we are still waiting on the que message from Chicago. Missed the July Oath taking, so the next scheduled Oath taking in our area is October.

Meryll, our friend, and the lady next to me from Peoria, aIl all passed the interview today. They only asked six questions if you got them all correct. We must wait for the letter to see when the oath taking will take place, but it will be in Rock Island, Il.Also, we arrived early, were called for an interview early, and left before the scheduled interview time.

I already explained to her he may get into the USCIS waiting room, but does not have an appointment to see a counselar. She is going for 3 year citzenship interview on marriage.

Im asking in behalf of my friend, she was seperated now from her husband ( but not yet divorce) and the husband threat her that he is goin to the emabssy on the day of her interview and file a complaint against her that she has an affair with other man or whatever reason he will tell? Is theres a possiblity that the office can entertain him on that day? or whatever?

I would suggest sending in a copy of your passport too. This is to correlate with any trips you have taken outside the US while a permanent resident.

Also, any documents required by the N-400 such as divorce decrees for previous mariages.

Merryll and I arrived at the Naperville Application Center a little more than 1.5 hours early. They had us in and out in 15 minutes. But, it was a two hour drive there and a two hour drive home.

True a search of the USEM does not produce a MNL-IV-22, but that does not mean that this form is not used. If xchaos777 looks at the letter the form number will be at the bottom. A VJ Search of MNL-IV-22 will bring you results including a thread about difference between 221g vs MNL-IV-22.

After reading your links and the US Embassy website, I still hold to my statement. Invoking a temporary denial under INA section 221g on a MNL-IV-22 is not the same as a Notice of Termination of Registration.

She was turned around last summer at a POE and had her multi-year visa cancelled. So not a denial, but a refused entry and cancelled visa. It should not have any impact on the K1, however the CO certainly used that to cause delay. She realized in the interview that the CO was aggressive about that point so quieted down as she was not going to be allowed to explain the situation. We were requested a non-existing document which was identified in the interview as non-existent...yet put us in 221g for not having it. W2,s are not provided to the IRS by foreign, overseas, employers...and the CO had just gone through the packet about where we were and what I was doing there for that year...yet a W2 is required.

I *think* we are past that now...and we are just waiting for the 'issued'.

Being in AR/AP is hard. We were delayed 13 weeks during the document verification process fiasco.

Just for clarification, a 221g means your petition was denied and sent back to the US. You probably received a MNL-IV-22 stating you may get a 221g if you do not supply the requirements.

The right time to do this is within the first 74 days you are in the US. Wait two weeks for your information to get updated in the database then go apply. Do not let them tell you you cannot, because many employees are not knowledgle on immigration with a K1.

If you do not get the SSN within the first 74 days you will have to wait till you get an EAD (permit to work).

The benfits of getting a SSN is that some states want (says requires) a SSN to get married. It also makes it much easier to get a State ID, insurance, bank accont, etc.

The website doesn't update very often and may not reflect the current status - I got my biometric letter exactly a week after the initial NOA. If you haven't already, sign up for the email notifications, they seem to be the best way to find out how the case is progressing.

You are correct, but looking at the Igor report the latest K1 petitions have been taking 6 to 7 days for a NOA1. An educated guess would be the package would be returned in 10 days.

My suggestion would be to contact the bank to see if they will honor the check. Ask why they did not issue new checks if the account number was changed? Then you fiance can ask what can be done to correct the situation.

Please guys, before you judge and accuse anyone of doing anything wrong and illegal.. You need to know that my fiance has been taking care of his nephew for years now. The kid does have parents but his dad barely ever sees him and his mom has the full custody BUT the kid is here pretty much most of the time and by here I mean my fiance mom's house where were staying. My fiance takes care of him, buys him clothes n food, watches him. He is here waaaay more than he is at his house with his mom. That is why my fiance claimed him every year he would have a job. But this year his nephew wasn't gonna be here all that much so my fiance wasn't planning on claiming him next year. My fiance makes enough for two people.. Are you currently living in the US of A? If you are, to do a K-1 visa you would need to be living in another country. The option If you are in the US and getting married is to do a concurrent I-130/I-485 adjustment of status, outlined here: http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide2.

To address your sponsor/dependent questions. Go with the latest tax return you will use with your petition. Since today is tax day that will be the 2013 taxes. If he is not claiiming the nephew for 2013 then the 125% of poverty will be for 2. You are included because the Affidavit of Supportis for you. There may be questions by the USCIS why the nephew was claimed previously.

By signing the document (Affidavit of Support) the co-sponsor is committing to not letting you go on public aid. This means he/she will become financially liable if you receive government assistance like state aid.
