  1. I've been to Harbor View....took my in-laws there when they were first here last 2006. The food served are mostly seafood and it's yummy...ambience is ok..the only thing we noticed was the smell coming from the sea...and you know how polluted Manila Bay is ;)

i really hope the city of Manila will try to clean the Bay...

  2. Hahahah! I stopped taking jeepney rides awhile back, but once i got the visa, i went and had a jeepney ride, pedicab ride and LRT :D mmmm...hopia in ongpin? (eng bee tin)? i should bring that too and sinigang mix :P I'm sure you'll get the visa soon :)

Mae, it's true, i'm leaving in 4 days time, but i still feel like I didnt spend enough time with my family even if I stopped working 2 months ago. parang kulang pa din :P pero syempre, I miss my asawa na din. It's been 11 months since we last saw each other :P

  3. hmmm....that's why they sent me a text message around 630pm on the 11th that they will deliver my visa the following day :P Mae is right, start calling Delbros after 3 working days. Meanwhile, enjoy your time here in the Philippines :P Do things you'll miss, eat the food u won't get to eat there and see all your friends LOL :jest:

  4. you're right, TB skin test (PPD) for adults are not reliable and seldom done. But there is another way to screen TB, which is through AFB Smear which is done by collecting the sputum or saliva for 3 consecutive days.

I have a suggestion, why don't you call SLEC and ask how they go about for pregnant patients? Maybe you'll be enlightened :)

If they tell you that you will have to do the xray, and you're on your 5th month or more, that is considered "safe" by medical standard :)

  5. my friend paid 10,000 for a judge to marry her to her fiance (USC) way back in 2005. But the judge also expedited the paperworks in such a way that when the USC left the phils, he had with him a certified true copy of the marriage certificate so he was able to file for the K3 as soon as he got back. The name of the judge, if i remember it right, is Alberto dela Cruz and he works in Quezon City Hall. I just don't know his number now. Will ask my friend if I see her online.

If you'll only have 20 relatives for the reception, why not do a lauriat? i think that's cheaper, ranges from 250-700 per head maybe :)

  6. After 6 long days (4 working days), I got my Visa!!! Finally!!

would like to thank VJ for all the tips and advises my husband and I got here. Without VJ, the entire process would be like going through a maze blindfolded :P special mention to my newfound friends who've provided support and comfort....Lily and Dee (runs4fun), you don't know how much it meant to me that you guys stayed with me while I waited to get inside the embassy for almost an hour! you took my mind off the interview :) Peewee (mike_n_peewee) one hot mama, smart and super nice ;) Margaux (margautix) uber friendly and sweet :) and iou & Cass (timcass) wish we'd all keep in touch :)

also to edp33, djturbo, roserick and pushbrk and others here in the Philippines forum :)

a short account of what happened during my interview:

appointment time 7:30 am ---arrived at the embassy 5:30, was let in around 6:20am

during the baggage check, I also had bottled water with me but the lady guard didn't ask me to drink from it (like Mari) :P

sat at one of the blue chairs --- arrange the forms DS156, DS157, DS 156, DS157 (remember to attach your photos and to write in all blanks. If you did it online and left a question blank, you can handwrite your answer. Just make sure to write none, N/A on the blanks or you might have to fall in line again for the number stub)

number 7030 -- always remember to look up at the numbers screen to see if your number is being flashed. Only in the finger scanning will your name be called. The rest of the process, it's gonna be your number that will be flashed.

Finger scanning -- 5 minutes after i got my stub, i was called for finger scanning. make sure your fingers are dry :)

Prescreener -- he asked what Dave does for a living, if he's a doctor too, how many times he came to visit and asked for paperworks

Consul -- saw my picture with his parents (who came 2x here, for the pamamanhikan and then for the wedding) and asked if his parents like it here and if they get along well with my parents, and to tell her more about my mom-in-law.

Window 38 --got the PINK SLIP

Delbros window --- pay for the delivery

    was done around 9:45am :)

Delbros sent a message on March 11 that they will deliver the visa the next day and my visa arrived at 3pm of March 12 :)

Thank you God for answering our prayers :)

    God bless us all :innocent:
