Someone correct me if i'm wrong...but i think the ds3032 is for the CR1 visa. Dave and I both applied for a CR1 and a K3 hoping one of them will reach the USEM. We were hoping the Cr1 but it looks like K3 is faster because once your I-129f is approved, they will then send it to USEM and the embassy will schedule the interview. For the CR1, NVC deals with the case, sending u forms which u have to send back until ur case completes which usually takes longer than a k3. once it has completed, NVC will then schedule ur interview before sending it to the USEM. When i called USEM last week, they confirmed that they already have our K3 and that i have to wait 50-90 days until the interview. Our CR1 visa still hasn't completed.

i called the USEM and they told me they have our K3 case already since Dec 20! Yipee! The girl said to wait 50-90 days for the interview *rolls eyes* i wonder what will happen to our CR1 since up until now, it hasn't completed yet.

If you are fortunate, the CR1 will reach the US Embassy Manila before your K3 interview. Then you can request that your K3 interview become your CR1 interview.

If the CR1 petition does not reach Manla before you get your K3 visa, another option would be to fly back to Manila for the interview. A $1010 spent for a trip to the Phils should be more enjoyable than spending it on AOS.

Is that right, edp333? so even if i just left the Phils (assuming i get my visa before they schedule my cr1 interview), i can come back for the cr1 interview? has anyone ever done this before? thanks again!

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

Thanks for the info. Will keep that in mind. But i'm still hoping they schedule the CR1 interview before the K3 to save us the trouble But our case hasn't completed yet....at least we're close to being with our spouses

Yikes! I'm a doctor ad i didn't think this will be an issue. My plan was to build my patient base here but that was before I met Dave. Syempre ngayon, I want to take the USMLEs so i can be a doc in the US. But of course that's not our priority din. We want to enjoy each other's compan muna bago ako bumalik sa mga duties. Buti na lang you shared this. Have to be prepared when my time comes. Thanks po!

Thanks C & J and MyHoney! I don't like how it feels to be soo close yet so far still =P but there's really not much we can do but to pray and have faith. Yeah, you're both right...expect the longest time. Since feb interviews have been given out already, we're hoping for a March interview. I hope we get to spend our first year anniversary together

hi..im just a lurker here because reading posts has helped my husband and i go through our visa journey. I am the "jaz" of davejaz42107 and i have a question regarding ds230. Can i download it and print it and fill it up handwritten? or does it really have to be filled up in the computer before printing? i hope someone can help me =)

oh, btw, i wrote my maiden name i the I130 form and for aliases i wrote my married name. i don't know if that's gonna confuse them too because at the ds230 it is clearly written to write maiden name on the second line...

sheeezzz...just filling out the forms makes me wanna pull all her hair out

The DS-230 can be filled out either way. Just make sure you print clearly if you fill it out by hand. Just go to the download page and print it without filling out on the computer.

The list is complete, but I was just looking at the site for required paperwork and the NVC now required a photocopy of the first 3 in addition to the original/certified copy. You will also need another original/certified copy of each for the interview.

just letting you know that i sent Dave the documents with photocopies of each. Im so excited cuz i'm hoping i'll be with my husband before valentine's. We've missed a lot of holidays already =(
