  1. i wasnt happy with my CFO experience as well.

The video that was shown before the seminar was not explained "in balance" with the current situations. So instead of serving it as "informative" one to the applicants, it generates fear & nervousness..

I'm planning to send them an email regarding on this but still im checking on other applicants' experience. Good nor bad, I feel that they need to ..somehow "improve" their seminar. I observed that they were asking some documents that i find it very immaterial ..in short "too much".

Their objective should put awareness to these applicants the life in foreign country & the "must-thing-to-do" in case of emergancy in such country of destination. So i dont see any point why staffs' should be rude.

  2. Hello All,

Anybody know what the direct number we need to call for the USEM to ask if our case was recieved them already. Anybody know what number it is?

    Thanks

Try to call Lorraine Gonzales 528-6300 extension 5184 ...better its the petitioner whose going to give her a call...

    goodluck!

  3. hi, there is also a huge filipino community in Las Vegas which is only a 4 hour drive from Los Angeles or San Diego. Closer to LA and San Diego than the Northern Cali groups in San Fran and Sacremento.

    Chris

really?! can you post the details here..we're visiting Vegas almost every week.. thanks!

  4. i feel that it would be a great help if this idea will happen..specially for those pinays who will be going out of the phils. for the first time..

as for me..i am currently maintaining a blog . it has different categories like LIVING FROM PHILS TO US, MOTHERHOOD etc.. that includes experiences (from K1 up to day-to-day activities), learnings & useful tips upon adapting into a new life here in US.

my blog add is indicated in the bottom part of my signature...

    cheers!

  5. Not a K1! As long as the BC is NSO and on SECPA it's good indefinitely.

CENOMARs one year but better to update if close to expiration.

Some prescreeners ask for it. Some don't. Case by case basis. Older beneficiarys tend to be asked for it more. Ones with children also.

People claim that USEM does random CENOMAR checks also as there is a LOT of fake ones.

Bottomline is since it's asked for for K1s. Get one.

You can order them online! Additional BCs also.

ITS A REQUIREMENT..so you MUST have a copy of it..

when I received my Packet 4, a note was attached to the front page, stating that CENOMAR IS A REQUIREMENT.

I got my CENOMAR online & the date was 3 weeks before my interview date.. better to get NBI & CENOMAR a month before the interview date.

  6. I feel that the above posts have already mentioned those important notes.

Anyway, I just want to share my experience when I first got out of the Phils.

My last 2 years , I was working in Bahrain (Middle East). When I arrived there Filipinos used to tell me that the first 6 months are really critical when it comes to “missing the Phils” … popularly known as “HOMESICK”.

If its first time for a Filipina/Filipino to be away with their family, out of Phils, “generally” they will feel the deepest loneliness of being away on the first six months. Crying is just a normal thing but there should be someone to lighten up things for her/him.

Passing the first 6 months was quite relief for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still thinking of

Phils after those 6 months. Although it’s not that deeply hurt as it was.

So for my first six months, I was busy with some projects after my work. I tried to insert some projects that I will be busy until late evening. So when I got home, I’m rushing to bed to sleep.

Majority believes & experienced that the first 6 months is the battle with “HOMESICK”.

Like what Mr. Fancypants said, let her organize the place on her liking. Think of a certain project that she will be interested. & happy with for the first 6 months… as in busy bee…

If she’s into internet surfing, you can introduce her to internet blogging..Which she needs to established a blog & possibly can earn $ from this in the future.

You can play also with the Calendar, since a lot of occasions are coming, couple can set planning until summer – out of town, road trips etc. So she has something to look forward to.

Majority to Filipinas love to cook, you can buy a recipe book of American food,..maybe 30-min Meals of Rachel Ray..& let her do the experiments in the kitchen. She can also check on-line recipes, print, cook & organize her own recipes’ manual.

Ask the Filipina what are her hobbies…or something she wants to do..then create a project that can be done in 6 months (or more).

  7. i dont know if any of you here watching SEx & THe City or like this sitcom..well, its movie is coming out next year.. im kinda excited since i really do like this ..

anyway, there's one scene in that movie that Sarah Jessica Parker, carrying an Eiffel Tower Handbag, with Chris Noth. That unique handbag has some kinda connection with Phils.. ;)

just posting something light in here..i know how hard it is waiting for the updates...

    best regards!

  8. Blast at Philippine Legislature Kills 1

By OLIVER TEVES – 4 hours ago

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — An explosion rocked an entrance to the Philippine House of Representatives late Tuesday, killing a driver and injuring at least seven people, including lawmakers, officials said.

Metropolitan Manila police chief Geary Barias said a lawmaker's driver was killed, while ABS-CBN TV network said a number of cars were damaged and at least three lawmakers were among those injured.

The blast happened shortly as the House ended its session shortly after 8 p.m.

"I heard it and I felt the blast although I was on the other side of the building. The ceiling of the canopy near the south wing entrance came down," Rep. Teodoro Casino told The Associated Press.

Police have cordoned off the area in suburban Quezon City and were looking for clues.

"We are deeply disturbed and the speaker would like to condemn what happened. We'll make final determination what happened," said House spokesman Noel Albano.

He said Speaker Jose de Venecia was on his way to the site of the blast.

Political tensions are high in the country. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is facing a third impeachment complaint in as many years amid a barrage of political storms, corruption scandals and a feisty opposition.

The Philippine capital has been jittery since last month, when an explosion damaged a shopping mall in the financial district, killing 11 people and injuring more than 100. A preliminary police report said it was an accident.

  11. As long as you really both knew each other more than anybody else, she won't have any problem answering the questions. Tell her to try to relax by chatting with other applicants. That way, when it's her turn, she's already forgotten the nervousness.

Her heart will speak for her! Goodluck!

    --Mae

    Mae has a point here..

During my interview in USEmbassy..I seldom chat with other applicants. So i wouldnt be that much tensed like them.

Although I met this one single mom & i observed that she was very relaxed. Our kids started chatting, so we dont have a choice but to be nice to each other..hehehe

  12. Please share some of your reviews about the Interview Journey..

    MY INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

    goodluck!

  13. THANK GOD!

You guys will not believe it because I can't belieave it myself also and am still very shocked at what happen yesterday afternoon. I been here in the country (Philippines) now for a little over a week visiting my wife and after traveling to Boracay we decided to travel to Makati to do some shopping at the Glorietta yesterday. We started shopping early about 10am and walked all over the mall including there where the bomb exploded in G2. When it went off about 1:30pm we were eating in the Glorietta 3 on the 2nd floor and waiting to watch a movie up on the 3 floor. At that time we saw all this people running from the center of the mall coming our way looking for an exit. My wife had her back turned to all the people running so I told her to look behind her to see what was happening. Everyone was screeming but I couldn't understand what they were saying since I don't speak Tagalog. At that moment we too got on our feet and ran over to the exit where people where knocking each other to the floor trying to leave the mall. When we finally made it outside over on the front entrace we saw all this people outside already visitors and employees. Luckily for us the bomb exploded on the rear of the Glorietta away from where we were eating. We are all very sad of all this people who where hurt and died there. You know I can't leave THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME TOO. Thank God am back in Pampanga now. Everyone else please stay safe!!

    u lucky guys!

    just keeping you posted guys...

its confirmed now..9 died from the blast.

We're trying to figure out if Rhosie will need to submit the original documentation(tax transcripts, W2, Form 1040, Employment letters, pay stubs, bank statements and certification) for the I-134 to the pre screeners and if so will it be returned after the interview. Simple Question, but we're trying to cross all the T's and dot the I's to be sure.

    tax transcripts - photo copy

    W2 - online print-out

Form 1040 - original with my fiance's signature

Employment letter - I have but the pre-screener didnt take it..

Pay stubs - we dont have that

Bank Statements - on line print out but the pre-screener didnt take it,

    hope this will help..
