  1. Hola mbv:

Yes, you can write the same thing as you wrote on #18. This time write as many details as you can, same story but more details; they want as many details as possible. For me, I only wrote one paragraph on #18 when I first submitted I-129F, then I got a BLUE asking for timeline. I then wrote 2 pages - typed and 5 pages - hand-written, both were notarized and turned in to CO. CO OK'ed it and PINK slip :)

    Good luck!

dam it, fiance just went to her interview and got the blue slip :crying:

we need more evidence and a notorize statement of how we met? evidence is no problem, but im just worried about the statement. do u guys think i can write the same thing i wrote for the I129f question 18? and do i have to sign it? if there is an example on the forum can u guys link me

    thanks for your help!

    :help::wacko::crying:

i read on here that the consulate in ho chi minh city vn are asking for a single certificate now? in the packet 4 (or whatever its called it) it did not mention anything about this? so do i need it? and where can i get one in texas? my fiance has her interview in 2weeks and i'm so freaking out already!

    thanks for your help!

  2. :) Thank you all for all of the congrats. We were very lucky the case went smooth and fast without lawyer's help. Plus I only went to Viet Nam one time, and we did not have an engagement party. But she presented many evidences at the interview, especially the hand-written letters counted a lot!!! The interview took at least 30 mins with only a few questions asked (5 or less), the CO and translator spent most of the time reading two hand-written letters in Vietnamese (my letters to my fiancee). There were too many letters I sent to her, but they only randomly chose to read two. The CO picked the long one (about 5-6 pages). They did not read the letters from my fiancee sent to me. There were many emails but they did not look at. So letters are better than emails.

Just a corrections: Our first slip given was blue (asking for timeline and evidence paid for airline tickets), and second slip was green, NOT BLUE, (asking for our parents' Birth Certs). Then we were approved right away after submitting the Birth Certs.

Hope all of you in AP will get PINKs asap. And good luck to all upcoming interviews. Again thanks all and best wishes!:)

Visao, just a quick question. For your timeline submission, do you have the timeline in both English and Vietnamese? I already have our timeline written down thus far, and I plan on sending it to my wife before the interview just in case. Again, congrats on your pink slip!

    Hi Tyrobe:

FYI: Timeline (describing your love relationship in detailed story) I wrote in English BOTH HAND-WRITTEN & TYPYING; all were notarized. My fiancee submitted the ones in English. I translated to Vietnamese everything I wrote just for her info. The ones in Vietnamese needed not to be notarized and for you fiancee/wife to keep :)

    Hi,

I may ask stupid question: Can you give me the outline how to describe my timelime. Thank you for your help.

    ***Hi caothan***

I sent you a message in PM re: timeline. Any more ?'s let me know.

  5. Hi all:

Is blue a good thing or bad? The blue slip looks generic and all intructions are translated to Vietnamese except for one paragraph re: timeline of relationship is not translated to Vietnamese, why? They ask for 1)timeline of relationship in detailed story and 2) proof of purchase of airline tickets--paid by cash or credit card? I compared mine and my friend who was interviewd by the same CO, we both got same instructions.

Anyone out there has any expirences re: blue slip, please help/share.

    Gracias!

    Hola all:

Just an update on my case--we've submitted all docs requested above. Then we got another blue slip asking for my parents' Birth Certs and her's parents' Birth Certs. We all have different last names, but have no ideas why this being asked. I will send them to her asap and will update you all. Anyway is this good or bad? Thanks all peeps out there for reading and responding to my posts.

    Peace

    Hi all:

She submitted the Birth Certs yesterday & got a Pink Slip. Will pick up Visa on 3/17.

  7. Hola 2007K1:

If your fiance'e has not rec'd Packet 3 after 1 month from mailing date, have her come pick it up at the Consulate, tell her the case # and they'll give her a copy. If she has not rec'd it by Feb 2 (Sat), then go pick up on Feb 4--is a Monday.

    Peace,

    visao

Thank you everyone for your advices.

I called the HCM Consulate today, and they let my fiancee to come and pick up the package.

    Package 3 (Instruction package) contains:

    DS 2001

    DS 230 Part I

    DSL 1083

DSL 1083 is just for instruction of obtaining Police Certificate, so we only turn in the DS 2001 and DS 230 Part I.

My fiancee could drop off the forms back to the Consulate at the same day.

I guess it's now just waiting for the package 4.

Does anyone know how long between package 3 turns in and receiving package 4?

According to the Consulate so it will take 2 to 4 months :-(

    Thanks again for your help!

    Regards!

    2007k1

It was 4 weeks for me between Packet 3 and 4. They're taking off ~ one week for the Vietnamese New Year, so maybe you're looking at 5 weeks timeframe. Good luck!

  10. Menyoo, at least you are able to provide them what they asked for. From what I understand, they asked for birth certificates from your and her parents because they suspect you two are related. However, if you are not and genuien, you will overcome this obstacle easily. Bes of luck to you and I am eagerly awaiting for your good news.

    Hi Kevin&Loan:

How did you view menyoo's attachment re: the blue/green slips? I could not find it, or it's been so long they'd deleted it?

  11. Hi MR2nice and all:

What is the minimum income RE poverty guidelines? And if one does not have enough income or has no job due to layoff, what amount of $ do you have to have in savings to meet the requirements? Do you have to have 5 times more than the min. amount required? For ex: they required 20k, do you have to have 100k in savings? I also heard you can claim your house if it's been paid off :) is true or not?

Also do I have to send back letters to my fiancee for her to go to the interview? These letters were sent to me from her? And I've sent her a lot of hand-written letters, but not sure if I should send those letters back to her?

Thanks Mr2nice, you're a really nice person, and thanks all for supporting :)

  12. I also have a question on I-134 form: Question 11: I intend or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person named in item 3.

How do you answer this question?

Can you just answer just like this: "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )" as in example forms listed in this forum?

Is that correct or how do you guys answer it? Thanks for helping :)

  13. hi MR2nice:

Can I ask you some ?'s:

How did you find out your case was rec'd at HCMC consulate? Is your fiancee from Saigon? And did she pick up Package 3 at the office or was mailed to her? Your case was fast: they rec'd it and sent out the next day? They said it may take 8 weeks from date they rec'd file to process and send out Package 3? But yours went very fast. NVC forwarded my case to embassy on Oct 17, but my fiancee has not rec'd Package 3 yet. She's not from HCMC, from central VN. Thanks in advance for reading and reply.

  14. I heard some peeps would pass the interview without engagement party! As long as you have other proofs: emails, hand-written letters, cards, phone bills, pictures of you two together...it will be O.K. I also heard that a lot of peeps DID have engagement party (but fake), but no other proofs would fail the interview. So they know who is real and who is fake at the interview. If you had an engagement party, does not mean you will pass! FYI-

  15. I just called NVC, my petition was received on Oct 15 and was sent to embassy today Oct 17. I was so happy I forgot to ask for case #. But she said I will get a notification letter soon. I was approved on Sept 7.

Teddy bear: U have same approval date, did you call to find out? Good luck to U!

I received NVC letter today. Letter dated Oct 18 and was mailed on Oct 19. Good luck to everyone else waiting!

  16. Congrats Kim T!

I was approved Sept 7, but haven't heard from NVC. Hopefully soon this week?

I called NVC and found out case was rec'd on Oct 15 and left on Oct 17. Was fast at NVC but slow going form CSC to NVC.

    Congrats Visao!

I will cross my fingers for us too then now.

It has been so challenging lately to feel good about this.

We got approved on September 13th and no word from NVC, and USCIS changes its story each time we call (3X).

Gracias SpiritAlight. Your approval date is one week behind mine, so I think NVC will receive your petition this coming up Monday. Call NVC on monday afternoon and I'm sure it will be there :) Good luck and let me know! :)

  17. Hey guys.

Well, I'm starting to get depressed. We receive our NOA2 at 09/14 and no NVC so far.

I just saw a timeline from Brazil that has gotten the NOA2 at 09/24 and NVC at 10/11. What should I do?

    :crying:

Hi Clau, I saw that too. I think we can all agree this process isn't always fair :( . Hold tight, you are almost there! Have you called NVC yet? You're over 30 days. Maybe they will give you some good news.

    Good Luck!

Is the processing time through NVC only long for petitions from CSC, or is it long for VSC also?

From what I've seen, there's only a delay with CSC, VSC (although approvals are slow) seems to be mailing cases off right away after approval.

I just called NVC and our case arrived on 10/15 and left today 10/17. Thank God! I hope this sheds a little light on the wait time. We were approved on 9/10.

    Looking up!

    V

    Hi nyblubird:

I got same arriving & leaving date as yours, but I haven't rec'd NVC letter yet. Have you? Let me know. Thanks! Maybe Monday next week we'll get it :)
