I will transfer money from my homeland to USA to start my immigration journey.
I am wondering whether this money will be taxable or not.How to prove that this money were my savings before getting the green card?

Recently I entered the states after recieving F3 visa ( me, spouse and son)
we all left USA as we still have obligations outside USA.
we all recieved our social security number
My son and my wife received their green card ( me not yet)
my question ?
how long could we stay outside USA?
Our immigrant visa stamped (endorses) when we entered USA with the notation that it is acting as I551 -

When did you enter the US? If it was more than 4-6 weeks ago then you should go to the nearest SSA office with your passport and IV and check with them.
Best of luck

Will appreciating sharing forms &/or links to file a case for my daughter.
I am lawful permanent resident just entered the states and received my green card & SSN.
All the family is here except my daughter she is unmarried 26 years.
Me, spouse and a son are lawful permanent residents while I have another son born in USA and carried US passport.
How could I apply for my daughter and are there any chances to expedite her case?
Thanks

We arrived on Jan.10 my kids recieved their ssn after a week though my husband and I am still waiting for our ssn, sometimes green card issued before ssn.You can visit your local ssn office to inquire the delay! And you can also track your green card status on uscis website on check case status by putting ur receipt number of green card fee!
Thanks a lot, that was of great help

Your I-551 serves as your proof of identity and proof of legal status until your physical greencard comes. You should be able to take your passport with that I-551 into your local DMV (or DPS in my case) with proof of residency and apply for your driver's license. Those state agencies can do what is called a SAVE verification which will check the USCIS database and verify your legal status.
The bank might be a bit trickier, but, depending on the bank, you should be able to get a bank account. The reason there is hesitation is because the banks do have obligation to report to the IRS and to do so, they need your SSN. Additionally, it's challenging to build your credit rating without a file to report to. A local credit union can probably help you out until you get a SSN. At that point, you might choose to stay with the credit union or open an account with one of the larger banks.
This information is quite helpful, thanks for the guidance and clarification.

Then take your information (I-551, other ID) to the SSA and inquire. Sometimes the SSN's aren't issued, despite having checked the box on the DS-260.
Can I open bank account or apply for driving license without SSN? could I walk in or there I should take an appointment?

did u mark the ds 260 for USCIS to do the work to get your SS #
If not, make an appointment with SS office taking your passport with the stamp for the F3 and another proof of ID and apply for SS card
Yes, we filled Ds260 when we applied for the immigration visa

Usually new residents can for a while which varies by State. Some are more generous than others.

Read with understanding - I said: If you haven't paid already, pay for the green card production fee.
Clear, I will pay the fee before entering the POE.
Do you advise to inform the embassy?
what documents should I carry with me? -

Yes, you can. If you haven't already, pay for green card issuance and once at POE make sure everything it correct in the SAVE database.
Why I should not pay for green card issuance?
many advices us to pay for it before we travel? -
3 hours ago, JeanneAdil said:What does ACC FTJ mean?FTJ means "follow to join." ACC means "accompanying". You simply will need to prove, when you arrive, that your relative has already entered the US. You can do that with a photocopy of the entry stamp and I-94 card, which you should carry with you when you arrive, if you arrive after and not with your relative.Jul 28, 2018
What is I 94?

Either there's something in your background that needs to be checker further or there's somebody with the same name who got you flagged.
There's no set timeline, could be few weeks or months.
What visa are you seeking?
F3
my wife was the principal applicant,
And her visa was approved while mine requested the questioner
-
During our interview, I was requested to complete an online questioner and given a yellow card showing that.
Why it is asked and how long it usually takes

The principal beneficiary must be physically present in the US before or at the same time as the US entry of derivative beneficiaries. So it's ok for your son (who is presumably a derivative beneficiary) to travel to the US with you or after you. Just not before you.
Clear, thanks
Do we have to mention that to any authority?
like the embassy or during entry of the Principal to USA?or just our son could travel with his visa at the date he wish before 6 month of getting the visa
Are savings before getting green card taxable?
