  1. Hi everyone

hope you all will be reunited with your loved ones soon 🙏🏻

I have a question and I hope anyone who has an answer or any information about it to provide me with it ..

Has any of you “ Syrians in particular “ been rejected or been subject to delay of getting visas in regard to military service! Or have you heard of any cases like that !

Does military service have anything to do with rejecting a visa or delaying it !

Thank you in advance for any help and wish the best to come for all of you 🙏🏻

My interview was in Amman in June 2019 and I’ve been in AP since then .

Finally, our journey has come to an end as well. We picked up our visa today. Interview was 2 days ago, and visa was ready the 2 days after interview. We are ecstatic. The visas are being given out everyday, almost everyone is getting visas within a couple of weeks of interview. We talked to many many people who came, got their visas and left. Many were second interview (first interview was before the automated system) but many more were first interview like us.

Bottom line, things are back to normal for the most part, almost everyone interviewing is getting visas. I did hear some refusals for men who have served in the military, but have not spoken to anyone that had this so I don't know how widespread it is.

We are going to visit a few places in turkey and then hopefully fly into the US next week!

I wish everyone here speedy visas and unification with their loved ones. We were in AP for a day, and the mrs was going nuts, so I cannot begin to imagine what many on this board are going through. It is deeply unfair to people who interviewed between dec 2017 and july 2019, but the one piece of hope I can offer you is that many people I saw were getting visas were second interview where the first interview was 2018/early 19.

Congrats bro .. I’m so happy for you

May I ask you pls how did you make sure that the refusal cases were mainly because of going to military service??

Do they tell the ppl who are refused that it’s because they send to mandatory military service ????

i hope you count provide me with more info about this part or if you could me in connection with ppl who had experienced it.

Thank you in advance and congratulations again

Had our interview today in Ankara. Iranian beneficiary. They could not see many of our documents in ceac. Asked us to upload them again. I suspect because we switched embassy someone dropped the ball somewhere. They kept her passport and told her not to worry at all. They said once we upload documents in 3 to 5 days we should have our passport back with visa in it. Fingers crossed. Hopefully they kept her passport is a good sign.

Was it your first interview ?

Abd how long have you been in AP ?

Hey Ali , what about your passport ?? Still with the embassy?

    Hi

they called about a week  ago and asked me to hire DHL to go get my passport back from the embassy as my AP is not complete yet .. they made me pay to send it to them two and a half months ago and now they also made me pay to get back .. this is ridiculous.

but it’s ok I’ll get the visa eventually when AP is complete.

    thanks for asking bro

I have 2 missed calls but when call back it says call cannot be completed.  I dont get calls from abu dhabi number so I thought it could be the embassy.  I am not able to do anything since morrning

I checked thier website thier numbers starts with 009712414…

I’ve just checked it for you  on a phone app I have and apparently it’s the phone number of a bank in UAE

I watched the whole thing too, it was very interesting. I think the ban supporters have a strong point. They probably won't issue the no-ban-act.
Because it is clear that it is NOT a Muslim ban, all the citizens of the countries are being affected regardless of their religion. So, I really do think that treating it as a Muslim ban is not going to solve our problem. They should focus on having an effective short waiver system instead. and grant exceptions on a case to case basis, like children and older people.

That is just my opinion. And I am saying this because I imagine the Syrian government for example will not cooperate with the US government. What are your opinions? And please correct me if I am wrong.

I do agree with you .. it’s not a Muslim ban at all .. its a ban against specific nations out of a  political regard.. and this is proved by the fact that many Muslims got their visas approved recently and many Christians are still waiting for their AP to be completed .. so I think if there was any act to be conducted it should be fighting the ban in general as a presidential proclamation and trying to at least make them make the process faster and clearer

we are all waiting i mean you said that it is at the embassy is it still there?

Yes it’s still there my friend.. we tried to email the embassy and ask about what’s Going on and they got us wrong regarding our intentions and thought we were asking for it back and they were going to send it back before AP was complete  .. but we sent another email and clarified  our intentions to them and I hope they kept it until They’re done with all their checks and reviews.. that’s why we’re not going to ask about anything anymore even if it was going to take ages .

    Wow!

The idea of holding someone's passport for that long is shocking for me

I thought they have 10 days limit.

    Good luck

That’s how I thought too at first .

But I’ve heard recently of ppl who were asked their passport to the embassy and it took two and a half months to issue their visas and return the passports .

    We’ll see what happens .

    Thanks for asking bro

So I am sure most of you know that now the embassies are issuing immediate visas for CR1/IR1/K1 for travel ban countries (now that the automated system is implemented). SOME people who are interviewing now are reporting immediate visas being granted, no AP. This has started just in past 1 month or so, and I know for certain I have seen people report visas from various different embassies. Is there anyone reading this who has interviewed in the past 1 month? Could you please post your embassy and interview result?

I was interviewed on end of June at embassy of Amman and was called by embassy to send my passport on late July .

i was really surprised about it.

They got my passport on 28th of July and I’m still under AP but got about 9 updates within 40 days so far .

Still waiting for my passport back hopefully with visa stamped on it 🙏🏻

and may I ask if the person you know got his visa issued after two and a half months from the time they received his passport or from the time of the interview?

Sorry forget about the part of my message asking if it was two and a half months from passport delivery or interview 😊. I just read your message again and apparently I didn’t pay attention to what you typed carefully.

After i lost my job i kept searching for 6 month and i finally found one and recived an offical offer in the same day embassy called me and asked to redo medeical and submit passport so I rejected the offer and told them I am travilling and sold my furintur for cheap money and give back my house and then they returned passport with no visa and put back on AP.  Tell my about firstration I esstmated my loss to be at least 10000 usd not adding to that the income that I would made if I acceppted the offer and had to search for another 2 months for job and to rent new house and to buy new furinture.  Pluse when they call if they ever did I have to redo medical for me and my dughter and sell my furnitur again same shitty process . pluse we will have new baby next month that need to apply for in same process. I wish to see 1 update on my case

I feel you my friend and I’m sorry for you 😔

    which embassy !

Well if I was him I'd be going crazy too. I check CEAC now multiple times a day even though this behavior makes no sense. When they had asked me to submit a new DS-5535 I was going crazy asking about it in multiple threads. I read pages and pages and pages of the DS-5535 thread looking for clues. This whole thing is agonizing. Oh..and my "or" changed to "/" - lol

Thank you for your understanding bro

but Anyway I agree that we have to have patience but sometimes I really can’t help it

    wish you the best
