Yes, ask your future employer a letter and Social Security will give you an appointment, they don t have choice if you have a job offer

I had the same problem. applied for SSN with immigration paperwork. Never got anything ...
Applied direcly with my work permit, but SSN had been declined because "no in person appointment possible until you get a job" ...
for me it was crazy ... I needed a SSN to have a background check , just a nightmare
I had to call many times for weeks to have an appointment scheduled because of my professional situation. They finally gave me an appointment after 3 months -
I'm also waiting for my SSN and Card. We called the social security and they told us it could take 30 to 40 days actually to get the card ...
Did you guys got a interview date by chance ? I'm at Case ready for appointment since May 5th ... 😕 -
Hello,
I just got a RFE about my birth certificate. 😕 I sent an Original long-form (in french) and the translation i did.
RFE asking for the "long-form" but i already provided the "long form" (intégral birth certificate)
Can it be only because of the translation ? (not certifed by a certifed translator)
I'm thinking to send :
An original + a certified translation
And as second proof of evidence :
- An original church record + certified translation
- A letter from an authority (the mayor of my previous city in France), certifying my : date of birth, place of birth, parents names
What do you think about that ?
Thank you

Hi!
we had our interview on 19th, and approved the same day
The officer was very nice, asked for my i-693 and original wedding certificate, nothing else , and went over all the i-485 questions very quickly, asked where we met and how many peoples were at the wedding.
5 minutes later the status was updated online, waiting for the card now !
