Just got the interview scheduled for Dec 9th. This clearly shows that the cases are held up at NBC for who knows what reason. But once its kicked out of there the local FO if not too big schedules pretty quickly. Best of luck to all and will keep posted.

Hey guys, my status just changed to interview scheduled. @Rambava, how did u find ur interview date? Also I think you must be fully vaccinated in order to get ur medical done.

    Hi guys,

i hope I can bring a bit of positive energy to you today.

i woke up this morning with a lawfully notification that my case was ready to be scheduled for an interview.

i checked on Uscis and it in fact changed. I am not sure what helped but my recent congressman inquiry recently came back with a generic “can’t do anything” type of answer.

i also talked to a tier 2 officer a few weeks ago and was asking for an info pass appointment at my local FO, she said this wouldn’t do anything but she would send a request to my local fo for them to ask nbc what was going on.

so that’s where I’m at, hopefully I get an interview soon.
I’m not sure if my case was actually transferred to San Antonio so hopefully once I get the interview I won’t have to wait for month for the GC.

Hey congratulations. I hope your interview is scheduled soon or hopefully before 2022.

This process is painfully slow its been two years now since my wife had Biometrics taken and now website finally says ready for interview. Wow crazy slow process.

Who knows how long it will take to get an interview date and then the green card........

Were in northern california the slowest

Sorry to hear that man, at least ur status is changed now so that’s some good thing. What’s ur field office?

Update to all waiting: I finally moved from fingerprints were taken status to ready to schedule for interview. This came within a week of our local congressman reaching out the second time on our behalf. Even though they got a very generic reply I think it has something to do with it. Hope yall get this long awaited status soon as well.

Hey congratulations. Same thing happened with me as well. My case status changed to ready to get scheduled for interview after one year.

FOIA good advice!! I didn’t think about that. What did you learn from that inquiry?

i feel like you should be scheduled soon now since your PD is so long ago.

Well I was researching some options such as contacting congressman, senators and writ of mandamus and then while researching writ of mandamus I read that lawyer submit FOIA request to see what’s happening with the case. So that’s why I decided to apply it online.
My FOIA shows nothing except my filled forms which means they haven’t done anything on my case since April 2020.

Still waiting on a green card interview but good news about my wife's work permit extension letter.   She was able to use that here in VA to get her driver's license renewed.  They did not need the renewed work permit card and said the letter of extension was good enough.  Got her license extended for another year.

So for now she can still work with the extension and is good to drive for another year.  Hopefully we don't have to worry about those deadlines and an interview comes soon.  My wife's extension is only good till March of next year.

Well my license is gonna be expired tomorrow and I went to multiple locations in Texas but they didn’t renew mine. They mentioned not being able to see my extension from DHS. 🤦‍♂️. I got my i797 renewal receipt letter in the first week of September.

I feel bad to say that makes me feel better. But by that I just mean I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Hadn't thought to file the extension for an EAD or that I could, really. Just never expected the interview to take longer than the expiration date of the EAD.

Yeah, u r not alone. I am pretty sure that u wouldn’t have to apply for another renewal 😂 as we will get 2 year EAD

I know exactly where you are at , i filed in feb 2020 same thing message never changed from fingeprints taken, i have done 3 inquirys they kept giving me a date for a response and nothing , our lawyer is looking into sending an ombudsman since no response has been given, EAD already expire we did filed for renewal but we havent received it yet .

If shes pending her renewal EAD when you receive a the notice of renewal that counts sort of like an extension while she gets her EAD again.

Facing the same issue. Case is stuck at this status since November 2020. I think it’s something related to background check.

    Hello all,

I got Documentary Qualified on 18 Feb 2021 and case the was filed on 3 Jan 2020.

I was thinking to apply for visit visa instead,as it has already been too long.

Need suggestions/guidance if i should go for visit visa or wait for my turn.

If yes, for visit visa then what are the pros and cons.

I think it would be quite tough at this point to get a B2 visa. U can apply, but it’s highly unlikely that consulate would issue B2 visa while u r waiting for immigrant visa to get scheduled.

    Hi all,

Houston based. I had my biometrics on Dec 3 and finally got a letter yesterday saying my EAD and AP was approved. Do you know how long it takes for the combo card to be processed and get to me and how long for my SSN to be issued? I currently have an ITIN but due to offices being closed never gotten a SSN.

I suspect I won’t get scheduled for an interview for a Green Card for a few years the way it’s all gone so far!

They must reschedule interviews at different field offices. Applicants from various states are getting their interviews within 8 -10 months. Right now, the Houston field office is scheduling October 2019 PD applicants.

What was your timeline if you don't mind me asking and when did you take this action? I filed the ombudsman request and they took no action claiming I just have to wait.

Hmmm, what’s your current status? I filed online form at ombudsman website on 14 October and after 5 days I got an answer on my service request for non delivery of the notice for i485. I am not sure what actually worked but I received a response from ombudsman office that they will contact and inquire about my case.

Filing an ombudsman USCIS request brought any practical result in your case? Did you receive a proper action response?

I got a response from the ombudsman office that they have contacted Uscis regarding my issue and will let me know the outcome in 30 days. Within 5 days uscis took action on my service request and sent me the appointment notice.

  13. 2 hours ago, KK and UR said:

Hi, thank you for the suggestion, I didn't even know one could do that. Do you think that might help?

I think it worked for me. I filed both - online service request for non-delivery of the appointment notice for I-485 and ombudsman uscis request. Before that, I was contacting them through helpline and online emma representative and found it useless.

My experience with service request is that no one ever answered to it.

Question for April filers: how long did it take you between Biometrics Appointment and Approval? I see a lot of people getting combo cards, but I don't know how long you are waiting after fingerprints.

    Thank you!

Experienced the same thing. Nobody replied to my service request. They told me to wait 90 days since the opening of Asc of my location; My location ASC opened on 13 July according to uscis website and today the officer told me that it was opened on 20 July. During all inquiries they kept telling me that my Asc location was opened on 12 July and today they gave me a new date...What a joke.

When is the 90 days up? I’ve been debating on giving them a call but I am sure they will just say they are backed up due to COVID.

90 days since the opening of Uscis ASC of ur location. My location has started on 13 July, so my 90 days are going to be completed by tomorrow, and then put up a service request which has a time frame of 30 days.

    Hello everyone.

I am in a kind of panicky mood this morning. We have been patiently waiting for the notice to come in the mail with our biometrics appointment. We filed for I-485 and it was received by USCIS on April 11th, 2020. Since then, when checking our case status it has just said fingerprint fee received. I was told that we would receive a letter from USCIS in the mail with details about the biometrics appointment. Well, it has been 5 months and no notice. I am getting kinda nervous that maybe it was lost in the mail or something. Is anyone else experiencing this? I know that they were shut down for a bit due to COVID, however, they have been open back up since June.

In the same boat. My PD is 13 April and haven’t received the bio notice. Tier 1 officer refused to transfer to Tier 2 officer and told me to wait 90 days since the opening of Asc. I would say just wait 90 days and see what other excuse they bring up.
