  1. Hi! We received our I-751 application package back from USCIS. The letter said we sent the wrong payment amount.  Isn’t the payment $680? $595 application fee + $85 for biometrics.  What am I missing?  Also, we paid with credit card, should we have sent a check instead?

Lastly the application and all other documents, now have some codes and markings at the bottom of the forms, can we resend those same documents back or do we need to print new copies of everything?

Since you used credit card, there's a great chance the payment was blocked as fradulent. If that's the case, your petition would be rejected and you'll get the packet back eventually.

I don't think my card would have blocked the transactions since i've used it in the past and they typically notify me if they block or decline a transaction.  But thank you, I really appreciate you responding.

  3. Hello Everyone! I mailed off the I-751 package on May 6th.  We haven't received a text confirmation or a NOA yet, nor has our credit card been charged. I noticed most people receive some kind of confirmation that their package was received within a few days. Do you know of anyway we can track the package? Unfortunately we can not find the USPS receipt with the USPS tracking number to even confirm its been delivered. Any suggestions on what our next step should be, besides just waiting? Thanks in advance!

    Hey Guys,

I am still waiting for an interview at the Sacramento location and have a question regarding the combo card.

My Spouse's card will expire in April this coming year and I really don't think we will have an interview by then (Sacramento is currently processing applications from January 2019). I know I will have to re-do the I-765 and I-131 application and re-send along with a copy of the original receipt notice. Do I also need to mail in the combo card? Also, my understanding is that we can submit the renewal up to 4 months in advance of the expiration, is this correct? I would rather start the process in January than later if possible.

You do not need to mail in the combo card.  Just the applications and the relevant supporting docs.  Yes, you can apply up to four months prior to expiration.

Hi all, we had our interview completed on June 21 and our case was approved on June 22, received the actual card in the mail last night! Thank you all for your advice and encouragement throughout the way and see you in about 2 years!

P.S. Does anyone have some insights/tips on how to best reach out to the local SSA to book an appointment to update SSN card info? Could never get through the phone line. Thanks!

    Congrats!

I called my local SSA office (at 1-877-512-3849) for something else, i had a long wait time (about 20 mins) but someone finally picked up.

Do you have to request an updated SSN card after you receive your green card? I thought it was automatically updated and sent to you.

We had our interview today in the Baltimore office. The interview itself was fairly quick (about 15 minutes) overall the whole process took 1 hour.  We got there at 8:00 for an 8:15 appointment. We checked in and sat in the waiting room for about 30-35 mins.  Then our immigration officer (IO) called us in. He asked my husband (applicant) the following: name, date of birth, employer name, home address, if he has a criminal record, if there is anything that would come up in his background check that could negatively impact him, then he asked me for my name and my mother in law and father in law name.  That was it! He asked if we had any questions. He said everything looked good and he's going to run a background check and then we should hear something in 7-14 days.  He shook our hands and said congrats and wished a nice day!  Due to covid he was only in the room with us in the beginning to do the oath, then he went next door in his office and we spoke to him through the computer, similar to zoom video call.

We had a very pleasant IO and the interview was somewhat conversational.

Best wishes to everyone on this thread still waiting!

Status changed June 29th to new card being produced.

I had my interview yesterday for K1 AOS

The questions IO asked were very straightforward and not too many of them.

However, IO said she didn't see the medical exam that I had submitted at POE in the system and wanted me to do another medical exam.

    This was a frustrating experience.

Where do you find the details regarding what type of exam you need for the interview?

Thank you!! We actually just received our interview notice. So I am going to hold off on renewing.

Still no interview appointment in sight here in southern California, PD early June 2020. Status has been sitting at "Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" for 3.5 months now.

Same here! I am so sick of seeing that status.  I really wanted to avoid having to file for an EAD extension, but looks like its unavoidable.

I was stalled at interview is being scheduled for the i485 but I was also stalled at finger prints taken for the i765.  In fact that’s still what my i765 is saying as I never got the EAD.  I contact my Congress and in no time I was given a date so I stopped stressing over the i765 and just focusing on getting the i485 now that I have my date.

How do you go about contacting your congressman, and what did you ask them, exactly?  I have been in "ready to schedule interview" since Oct 8th.  Thanks and congrats on getting your interview date!!

  12. hello all!  For those that received EAD, what has your experience been with explaining your status to potential employers?  We have EAD but have not had the green card interview yet (i hope we get a letter for interview soon).  So is it considered green card or visa EAD?  I did not think it would be Visa EAD because technically my spouse is not on a visa anymore but haven't received green card yet.  thanks!
