My finacee was issued a k-1 visa on 01/30/2020 and the validity was for less than 3 months. Is to expire on 04/24/2020. We were planning on me going to her country on 04/10/2020 and come back together on 04/14/2020 (I even had my airline tickets booked and hotel reservation). Now, because of COVID-19, her country closed its airport until 04/25/2020 (since 03/18/2020).

Since her visa is going to expire on 04/24/2020 and there was no way to fly out, do you think we can get the K-1 visa issued (issued with a validity period of less than 3 months).

Please let me know what you think and what we should do. Is there any probability to have an extension?

Since you already responded to the RFE it is just a matter of days. You surely will hear good news in a few days (hopefully by end of this week). Meanwhile, prepare yourself for next steps.

I am so excited to inform you that I finally got my NOA2 (Approval Notice) dated 07/03/2019. I responded to a RFE on 06/26/2019 and my NOA1 is 02/21/2019. Keep your heads up!!

Stay positive. I got the same and was so anxious to know what the RFE was about. Finally it came and they just wanted a "legible" copy of my Judgment of Divorce. So, don't stress yourself out. Just wait with a positive mind.

Just for your information. The same day I was told by USCIS Customer Service that a RFE was issued (6/13/2019), the old Website updated my status. But until today (6/19/2019) the USCIS new website is not updated yet.

If you want to quote more then one post then select the plus sign (next to the quote) for each one that you want to respond to. Then in the lower right hand corner you will se a box that popped up that says "Quote X posts". Select it and you will have all the posts in one area to respond to.

On an unrelated issue, I received my RFE and it has an envelope for returning what they asked for. Can I send it Overnight by Fedex and put the little envelope received from USCIS inside the big Fedex Enveloppe? That is, I put the Judgment of Divorce and the cover letter from USCIS inside the provided envelope and then put everything in the Fedex Overnight envelope.

Please let me know as I am going to mail out the response to the RFE this week.

USCIS does misplace things once and awhile also, keep that in mind, an RFE might not just be for wrong paperwork or lack there of, but just because they need a new copy of it. Doesn't mean it's your fault, they are humans over there too.

Thank you Ben&Zian. I understand and will just sent them a brand new and legible copy. And I hope to hear from them soon. An RFE for just that is nothing to worry about. Just adding more days.

Yes I sent the complete divorce decree from New York State (all 9 pages). I am looking at it right now and wondering. Maybe it is too old and hard to read.....

I received the RFE yesterday. To my surprise they are asking for a copy of my "Divorce Judgment" again. And I already sent it in my initial application. It is weird but I will just send them another copy.

I hope once they receive it they will quickly respond with a nice NOA2 (even though they say it might take up to 60 Days).

Just for those wondering how many days it takes to get the RFE hard copy in the mail. I was notified on the Old Website (New Website is not updated yet) that a RFE was sent out on 6/13/2019. And today 6/17/2019 I received it in the mail (notified by Informed Delivery). Will keep you posted this afternoon when I get home as to what is requested. My NOA1 is 02/21/2019.

Just keep your heads up please. It is tough but the only way to survive this is to consider every day as a victory getting you closer to your loved one.

Called USCIS this morning and was able to talk to a Tier 2 Officer. She told me they are working on a RFE to send me by end of this month (And that if I don't receive it by 7/1/2019 I should call). I am wondering what the RFE would be for so I am just here all anxious. But at least I know that my petition has been touched and I will be fine once I answer the RFE.

I am one of the unfortunate Feb-19 K1 Filers who are still waiting. I am happy for all of you who got your NOA2.
