Depends where you'll be at (the weather can be quite different from downtown to the northeastern part of the city where we live, let alone into the suburbs), but normal December San Diego weather is highs in the high 60s or low 70s with lows in the 50s.

Every once in a while you'll get hot, dry Santa Ana winds that mean it's unseasonably warm for a few days (and a higher risk of wildfires).

It's much more likely to rain San Diego in December - March than the rest of the year, but it's still not likely to rain.

thanks so much! we plan on staying in la jolla area.. in google said that during night it could drop to 40s F which is cold for me😅 but i guess i can just use normal clothing as in indonesia i guess with 60 f

TBH I'm still trying to figure out weather in San Diego. Lately, temperatures at night have been around 48-58 F.  I imagined it'll get colder during daytime by December.  I would definitely bring some layers(not too thick)  and dress accordingly.

Also, for what I've read here the NOA1 should be enough to proof your authorized stay in the country.

is text msg from uscis count as NOA1?

thanks for the info! some of my friend said that its still wont be too cold, but for me it would be chilly 😅

Hopefully you will get you NOA1 in time. Be aware that there are current forum threads where folks have waited a month for their NOA1. Check some recent threads for particulars. Biometrics appointments happen when there are openings at the local field office, it may or may not be within a month of acceptance of AOS applications. The appointments are scheduled by the ACS scheduling minions in Alexandria, VA.

i hope so.. but i think at least uscis approval is sufficient in case CBP shows up?

    Hi all...

I've read many statements that it is better to apply for SSN 10-14 working days after arrival to U.S. by K1 Visa, before we have our wedding. Thing that makes me don't understand is what is actually the benefit/s of applying for SSN before married rather than getting married first ?

Could anyone tell me the pros and cons about doing it before married vs after married ?

    Thanks in advance.

Do it soon as you can! i've been waiting for my ssn and its been 6 wks of waiting. I already called them too and they say it can take up to 2 months to produce. Its really irritating not be able to have debit card and bring cash everywhere and very much depending on your husband lol

My fiance has arrived into the USA this Saturday October 26! I read online that it's better to wait 2 weeks for her to be in the system before applying for a ssn as otherwise USCIS needs to do a manual verification. Is this actually true? Is it detrimental to apply for a ssn this Friday?

dont wait! i waited for a month and kinda regret it, because for some reason ssn took more than 2 weeks to made now. I've been waited for mine like 6 weeks now, i even called them and they say ssn can take up to 2 months to produce :(

Hi Fellow Indonesian, Im wondering how long did it take you from mailing the visa packet to receiving your visa?

I am currently applying for one. We mailed our packet in October 2019, and our wedding is supposed to be in July 2020 and I am not sure if that's enough time. Im afraid i wont receive the visa by then. Should i postpone the wedding to august instead?

hello! i wouldn't take risk, especially if it's involving a lot of wedding guests. I suggest you hold the planning until at least you have your interview date, or after your visa is approved, bcs everything that happen before that is really unpredictable.

Things can go fast or worst case some people took 10-12 months until they got their visa in hand. You can go with other route of course, do court house wedding first for 90 days requirements, then plan for ceremony and reception afterwards. Thats what i did and i can involve in every wedding planning here😁

    Good luck!

Excellent post, suggest that you heed the advice given in it. :thumbs:Flying into or out of San Diego without proper documentation hopefully won't present a detention problem for you. Personally, I wouldn't want to risk an interaction with CBP at these times of "enhanced immigration enforcement."  YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

thanks so much! i will try to file 2 weeks prior the trip. Is biometrics appointment always happen 1 month after uscis get the application?

I live in San Diego and flew for 4th of July holidays to South Carolina when  I was on the last days of my i94, flew back without the noa1 because it was in the mail,  my I-94 was expired by then. My I94 had expired 4 days before flying back. And I had no issues but I was asked a couple of questions.

HOWEVER, checkpoints might be anywhere recently specially in the south. I can recall the other day a friend warn me of taking all my documents with me because they were checking people close to the airport and downtown.

If I were you I'd file ASAP. Better safe than sorry.

I understand and i decided to filed 2 weeks before i leave to San diego. Do you think receipt of USCIS already received our application is sufficient enough in case i bump into CBP?

btw, if you dont mind, could you please tell me whats the weather gonna be during early december? i dont want to bring wrong outfit lol

    thanks so much!!

  9. Hi! I need help. So i entered US and marry my husband within 90 days. My i-94 will be expired on Nov 20th. We plan to apply AOS by beginning of December due to some document works,  but i must fly to San Diego on December 6th.

    My question is:

    1. Should i be ok to fly domestically with only foreign passport and marriage certificate?

    2. What other documents or things i should prepare for tsa checking?

Your help is very much appreciated! thank you so much!

    HELP! INFORMATION NEEDED:

    Hi everyone!

needed some information from your experiences in indonesia.

How long to wait for interview call date after submitting all documents?

I have submitted all of the documents needed and mentioned including the med exam.

And have requested for an interview date but its been 3 days and haven't got any reply yet, and now waiting for their reply for an interview date from the embassy. Due to my pregnancy I've been waiting a lot for it. needed info's from your experiences.

    Thank you.

I think the embassy are in pretty busy time of the year. I asked for interview date early june and got the date 6 weeks after, on July 17th.

My friend also got 5 weeks after she submitted her K1 interview request. I don't know if its applicable to everyone but thats my own experience.

    Good luck! :)
