I had the file ready for hubby to send since february..Guess what? it was still collecting dust!! I had to update the application and such get him to sign it and went ahead and sent it 07/09/12. He drives me nuts with this kind of stuff but I love him.

I entered Morocco with my us passpost twice. I never had an issue. the only thing they want to see is La carte nationale which is the moroccan ID , if you don't have it you will be treated like any american and can't stay in morocco longer than 3months without extention also you have to register with local police. anyway Moroccan don't have to pay as I am hearing Tunisian do leaving(at least since last time I visited Morocco in summer 2006).

I don't post much, but was glad there a mena pregnacy/baby forum. I am 20 weeks pregnant and have no idea what I got my self into. I have a lot of mixed feeling about being a mother. I am not sure I will be a good one. all my adulthood I lived a single quit life never had to take care of more than a cat . the most thing that worry me right now is that I am not going to have the familly support and help I would have gotten if I lived in Morocco, going there now isnt an option since we have just bought a house. financialy hubby isn't working and going to school full time and bringing mom to stay with me few weeks is going to be a though call .

I am leaving feb. 28, and returning march 21. My boss could only give me 2 weeks at first, but told him the next day that I needed another week. They were great, but did have to sign a letter stating that I will be back to work on March 22, and NO LATER!

here are some pointers that will help you. get your fiancee to find out what exactly the kind of document you need. translation in morocco could take 24 to 48 hours but getting the document here is sometimes a pain. tell him to find someone with connections to help you get things done quickly. we both moroccan and we had to get several documents to be able to marry. I had to prove I am not married in usa and him in italy. both consulate italy and usa had to confirm that they agree and stamp our documents(divorce decree and marriage in usa in my case) before we left to morocco. that helps alot. my dad and his dad got all other documents needed from morocco on our behalf (birth certificate....). the doctors visit took us couple of hours because we had his brother in law there. we got married within 3 days. again just make sure you know what you need and be prepared. best of luck.

Do i need to bring Them from Palestine or From The Country of my Whole Life Residence as I dnt Thing Palestine have Record about me Ever....

you only need police certificate from places you lived in more than 12 months.

my USC sister filled I130(oct-2006) for me and now approved.Sis got latter of approval on oct-2009.

when she filled I was canadian PR(through my citizen canadian husband).she included me and my hubby name in petition while applying for I130.

i m still PR .i havent applied for citizenship.

I got married in oct-2004(in india)

I became canadian PR- sep-2005(through canadian Husband and came to canada).

Took divorce-aug-2008(in canada ,have divorce decree)

Marry again : Sep-2009(in india,he is also divorcee.he hv D.decree)

I130 filled:Nov-2006(by USC sister)

Approved(NOA2)I130:Nov-2009(case being transfering to NVC).

1)Should I inform(NVC or USCIS) to make changes about my divorce and marriage again.

or I should inform NVC when they send me DS-230 form? Inform the NVC now to avoid any delays later down the line. If you wait for them to send the IV bill (DS-230), the NVC will information about your ex-husband and not your current. For them to make changes, it could add months of delays. Let them know now so you can avoid this potential delay. Send them copies of your divorce paper and your new marriage certificate. Do not send any original documents. How I can Inform?is it by re-submitting my Biographic form (where I have to mension my recent husband name and cancelling ex-husband name and details?and submitting divorce decree of both and marriage certi of us.)

if by the time I get latter of interview then I and he should be physically present in canada ambessy for interview(as my file is based on concidering I am candian PR).but my husband would be in india(if not came by the time to canada).so how come NVC process case for him??does NVC send interview latter to him also in indian to appear for interview in indian US counsulate? or they may deny the case for him and issue visa for me alone . You can request the embassy/consulate that you wish to complete your final paperwork. However, I have never heard of a derivative beneficiary being processed separately from the beneficiary. You should check with an immigration lawyer to see if that is possible. It may not be; in which case you will want to be processed in India as your husband may not be able to go to Canada.

Your situation is rare. Generally, the beneficiary and derivative beneficiaries have their IV applications all processed in the same interview at the same embassy/consulate. You should really get an immigration attorney.

I think the process at the nvc takes a long time because you are in category 4. my brother is in the same boat as you. the wait is long to get a visa number especialy for category 4.If I were you I would,t worry about the husband interview now. he will be in canada when you guys get a visa number.

To answer the OP, whatever you or anyone decides, it should be because it was something that person wanted, and found a peace with... not for anyone's sake, or fitting in, or looking good, etc. Everyone should stick to a religion and lifestyle which suites them. I think most people in the world, are labeled one religion or another, but they aren't really that religion. Is a Muslim that doesn't pray, fast, or abide by the rules really a Muslim? Or just labeled one? Is a Hindu that eats beef and doesn't believe in reincarnation really a Hindu? It's something to ponder... I often wonder if someone picks and chooses what they like of a religion and leave off things they dont' like...are they really of that religion??? Or have they created their own religion by doing so? Does religion require an all or nothing approach? Lots of things to think about after reading some of these posts. I think I've found some good conversation/debate for my husband tonight

I wasn't asking people so I could make a decision. It's just something I've been thinking about alot lately, and was curious about others' thoughts. I just don't really have people to discuss this with, and thought it would be something interesting to do online. I also figured this group would be a good place to do it, since we're more likely to understand than the people who live around me. I was right! I mentioned before, and want to mention again that I'm really impressed how civil everyone has been!

I think you had a really good point - most people probably aren't very strict about their religions - at least from what I can tell. I know in my case, I was only exposed to Catholicism, and was led to believe that "we" were "right", and everyone else was delusional. I wouldn't choose Catholicism if it wasn't "assigned" to me. I haven't found a religion that I want to choose. If people ask, I usually just say "I was raised Catholic" because getting into a long conversation isn't usually the best idea. First of all, most people don't really want to know - kind of like "how are you?", they just want a short, simple answer. Not only that, but you just never know how people will react, and I am rarely in the mood to deal with people's possible reactions to what I might say. Especially if it's someone in my family! I love my relatives, but... this is not something I want to debate with them. And trust me, it WOULD be a debate. Sigh.

I love that I've been able to post without being attacked, and that so many have shared their thoughts with me - and that they haven't been attacked either. This is just the kind of interaction I've been craving!

I don't know if I'll ever "pick" a religion, but at least I've come to terms with the idea of not really identifying with one. It sounds like there are a few other people here with the same situation. Makes me feel almost normal!

I guess it's good that most parents teach their children about "A" religion, even if the children don't always end up agreeing with it. We need guidance when we're young, until we can make our own decisions about things. I just wish that there wasn't this thing attached to it - the concept that if we decide to follow another religion when we're older, that we're going to Hell or something like that. We call it "Catholic guilt", but I don't think Catholics are the only ones who do it to their children!

I'm sure many people just don't really think about it, or at least don't think about it for certain parts of your life. That was me for many years - just disassociated myself from the whole thing. Hearing my husband talk about God just brought it into my thoughts, and I think that's a good thing. My husband's faith has brought me closer to God, and I appreciate that, and have thanked him for that many times.

Well, I think some people DO think that religion is an all or nothing thing, and that's what I used to believe, too. Now I don't think so. I'm sure some people will disagree with me, but I think it's ok to pick and choose what I think is "right". Then again, I don't consider myself to be a member of any religion either. And part of that is because I can't consider myself part of religion if I don't completely agree with it. If others want to consider themselves part of a religion they don't really follow, that doesn't bother me. That's something we need to decide on our own. Then again, I can understand how an observant member of a religion might not be too thrilled about someone who identifies themselves as part of that religion but don't take it seriously.

I'm a "to each his own" kind of person.

This is such an interesting discussion. I reverted to Islam 2 years before I met my husband. It was my decision and was not based on any other aspect other than this is what I believe. There are many people who question Islam and I am heavily involved in what we call da'waah, which is getting the information out there to those who want to hear it. But I also believe that no one should try to convince another to believe one way or another, because that kind of belief does not come from the heart. I think that when we question things we need to seek the answers that will satisfy our needs. I think most religions believe that there will come a day of judgement and if you believe that, then only we can justify our own actions. I believe we stand before God alone. In regards to my husband, we believe that we serve God as one person. Thanks for bringing up such an interesting topic.

I know that there are many Muslim/non-Muslim relationships in MENA (like mine), and others that start out that way until (usually) the (non-Muslim) woman converts. Of course, there are also some that are Muslim/Muslim from the start - either both born into it, or conversion came before the relationship.

I know that there is the perception out there that people (again, mainly women) convert just because they marry a Muslim. While I'm sure that does happen (and I'm sure some of them regret it and/or abandon it, some don't think much about it, and others find it was actually a good choice for themselves after all), I'm also sure that many do it for very good, solid reasons that may or may not have anything to do with their SO.

I remember someone mentioning that she converted before meeting her SO, because she researched Islam after 9/11 (sorry if I'm not getting the details quite right) out of curiosity, and realized that it was right for her. I thought that was a beautiful story, and I'm happy I heard about it.

I'm very interested in hearing other stories, from anyone who would like to share. I hope I don't offend anyone by asking, and very sincerely hope that asking isn't an offense to the religion. I have good intentions. Yes, I want to hear some heart warming/inspriational stories, but I also think that maybe there are people out there who would like to share.

I was brought up Catholic, and my husband is Muslim. I've had people ask me about converting, but I honestly don't feel the urge to do it. I actually don't feel drawn to any specific religion, at least not right now. I don't attend religious services, but I do pray, thank God, talk about God to my children, we say grace... things like that. I do practice the Islamic lifestyle to an extent - I don't drink, I avoid pork/gelatin for the most part, do my best to be respectful of my husband and myself, fast during Ramadan... things like that. I feel better about myself, doing it. Some might wonder why I don't convert, then. My only answer, which I say with the utmost respect (and I apologize if it doesn't come across that way) is that I just don't agree with all aspects of Islam. I honestly don't agree with Catholocism either, which is why I haven't really practiced it for a long time. Some might consider me a bad person for "picking and choosing" certain aspects, but I really don't know if anyone adheres 100% to any religion. I KNOW I'm not perfect, but I'm doing my best. If others want to judge me, that's their issue, not mine.

Anyway, if anyone would like to tell about their conversion - or not converting - please do so. Feel free to tell why you did or didn't - what led you to your decision. For those who didn't, did you (like me) contemplate it at all? What was/were the deciding factor or factors? If you did convert, do you have any information you'd like to add - where, when, how you converted? For example, some might have done it very informally, maybe others had some type of ceremony? I'm just really curious - and this is something I've been thinking about quite a bit lately.

As a muslim that grow up muslim, I tell you one thing if you choose to be a Muslim it shouldn't be to please anyone. you must be 200% sure that islam is the way of life that you want. you do it for YOURSELF , not your husband, buddy or who ever. you do it to please ALLAH; the only GOd. if you are interested in other's stories and how they found islam, I would suggest www.turntoislam.com.

Words cannot express how excited I am aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Aziz just called me 30 minutes ago, I'm still floating on air. We were approved for our CR1.....First of all, I sincerely want to thank my visajourney family because without you guys and helping us prepare, I would not have done this so easily..Aziz told me that when his interview went smoothly. First he was interviewed by a Moroccan man for 3 minutes, then he was handed over to the feared blondie. For him, she was very nice and didn't take too long. She didn't look at any of the evidence and his fingerprints were actually free. She asked him a ton of questions and told him the magic words, "you can come back tomorrow to get your visa." I was surprised no AP, but I thank the lord that it went so easily and I wish the same for others that will be having their interviews in Casa.

OMG I am still processing this, but yes my day is good so far.

Abed & I met online as well in a yahoo chat room. At first I thought he was just a young, stupid, drunk kid having fun (I am a whole 5 years and 4 days older than him). We met June 2006, right before the Lebanon/Israel war. I always rushed home from work to see if I had any messages from him to tell me he was OK, internet was sparse, needless to say. It finally dawned on me in August that I was already in love, he knew what I was thinking before I did and I worried about him horribly! It was a strong connection and still is. I talked to his sisters on the phone and promised I would come meet them in February 2007 and I did, stayed a month, got married and pregnant all in the same trip, but not in that particular order unfortunately. He finally arrived on US soil 10 days before our oldest daughter's first birthday. Life is challenging at times, he is a Leo, I am a Leo...he is Pali, I am of German descent...but he is the best thing that has ever happened to me, aside from my two babies of course . And I wouldn't trade him for the world. People I used to work with said he was only using me, and talked viciously behind my back, but I am the happiest I have ever been, and they can kiss my lilly white rear end! Some people will never understand how you can fall in love over the internet, but believe me, it is possible, though your feelings aren't completely validated until you are in each others arms.

Hopefully this made sense, I keep running back and forth between the living room and the computer room!

This is why only people I know and trust (family only) know what is really going on with my relationship. All others know he is in Morocco taking care of family...They don't need to know more than that! Beautiful kids btw!!

My sister in law that I have never seen before(my brother married without a big wedding and I was in the usa)insisted that I attend her brother's wedding...she convinced me to travel see her the family and in the same time attend a traditional moroccan wedding.

The first time I seen my husband he had this big smile on his face and he just kept staring at me.I was thinking this guy is creepy, who is this dude? come to find that was her other brother who resides in Italy and who is also attending the wedding and visiting family. he was engaged to an italian, I was married and going through a divorce.

my own family didn't know I was divorcing b/c I didn't want them to worry about me . His fiancee broke up with him.. I got my divorce then told my family.A week later I got a phone call from My brother asking if I was interested in talking to him ..... we talked for hours at the time every day....3months later his familly asked for my hand officialy from mine... 5months later we were married the in moroccan . Hi everyone! I've been a member for a while, but opened a new account. I want the freedom to post questions without my SO knowing that it's me. I love him dearly, but... he's stubborn sometimes, and very sensitive.

Ok, I brought this up to him before, and he got upset about it (I have no idea why), and wouldn't discuss it with me. It's his passport - it's going to expire in a few months, and he doesn't want to renew it. He says he doesn't want to leave the country until he gets his 10 year card, which I understand - even though you can come back in with an expired card and an extension letter, he's nervous about doing so. The thing is, if he doesn't renew, he won't be able to leave the country (and return) until he gets an American passport, which will be a minimum of a year (and most likely longer). First of all, I was hoping to travel next summer. Second of all, you never know what could happen, and I'd hate for him not to be able to go see his family if (God forbid) there was some kind of emergency. Also, I wonder about things like getting a stamp in his passport if his letter expires, and does he need a valid passport for any reason for citizenship or anything like that? I mean, I just can't fathom why someone would willingly let themselves be without a valid passport - at least someone who came on a visa, anyway... I know people can forget, or maybe find themselves in a situation where they don't have the money or something - but to just decide you're not going to renew (and not even give a reason why) seems irresponsible.

The ONLY thing I can think of while racking my brain is that I remember a conversation I had with him about marrying Islamically and registering with the consulate here. I'm under the impression he needs to do that to renew - and he didn't seem interested in doing that for whatever reason.

I don't know. I love him, and he's wonderful. But every once in a while.... let's just say I get frustrated.

you husband may think he has to go in in person to renew or extend his passport which is a big hussele,but he doesn,t have to. I know how bad that could be the beaurocracy @#@#@

okay. here is my experience. my moroccan passport was on the verge of expiring, I reseach it and it wasn't that big of a hassele exept money wise. I had to send my passport and other forms filled that I was able to get from there web site. I had also to send a prepaid express mail envelope for them to send me back my extended passport. I think it took them about 2 weeks before I got my passport back. calling as I recall was a pain.they were rude and act like they are still in Morocco. they make you feel like you are bothering them for asking questions. so many complaints and a freind of mine told they are trying to do better. they even have thank you for calling message when you call.

it is a sweet thing that you are worried about the situation if he has leave urgently.but keep in mind leaving won,t be the issue comming back will, and he can always wait 2 to 3 months for his passport to be renewed in his home country to be able to come back.just tell him that and he will agree with you and renow it here. best of luck
