Yes we uploaded them and then sent them to the person who did the "seminar."  Keep trying the system though as eventually it will work.

I finally figured what I needed to do... I have to reregister again. Unfortunately it only allowed me to do that when I use a different laptop. Which I wish I shouldve tried earlier so I would have enough time. I did follow your advise to inform them to call me asap as my flight is on thursday... crossing my fingers that they would respond asap... 😕

We received ours in February.  They will tell you that they need a week once they have all of the documents to email you the temporary certificate.  Our situation was slightly different as we had a stolen passport and visa involved, so once we got the replacement passport/visa and sent that copy to them, we had our certificate within 15 minutes.  However, they had plenty of time to prepare the certificate and review the documents.

If you need it super urgently, including a copy of your plane ticket and tell them you need it in a day or two and they may comply but normal time is one week.

Thank you for getting back to me... I have been trying to upload my documents since wednesday but I keep getting an error... I tried yesterday too. Did you encounter any problems while doing it online and how did you manage to get thru it? My flight is next week and sooo Im very anxious at this point and I have been trying to send my docs but im not getting any luck!

We have original cfo sticker from a k1 visa 3 years ago.

We just registered for another, online yesterday.

Now we just need to find an open bayad to pay, so can get the scheduled online counseling.

Thank you for your update... I was also trying to send one yesterday  and wednesday but I keep getting a time out... Can you tell me if you have encountered errors sending as well and what did you do to get it quickly?

  4. Hi, Anyone had applied for the CFO sticker recently? recently meaning during this pandemic when they started having the sticker online? May I know how long it took you to get one from your submission of documents?

No theres no issue with having a new passport at interview in married name. It's not uncommon.

Thank you! u were such a great help!

After you get the new one you would only need to travel with your old (and new one) if there was an unexpired visa in the old one.    Mary went from a passport holder with her old passport in it and marriage certificate to a new passport and a paper copy of the Canadian eTA and her US and Mexican Green Cards.   Oh and 3 different driver's licenses ;)

Thank you! you were such a great help!

The original documents should have your maiden name.   So that is not an issue.

Yeah no need to overthink it.   Getting the new passport and putting the Visa in it just makes your life easier.   You can stop carrying around a copy of your marriage certificate while traveling.

Thanks... Thats actually one of the things I'm worried... My work requires me to travel from time to time so I want to make sure I wont have any issues.

You need 6 months validity at interview because the visa has 6 months (generally from medical date.)

If you want your green card in married name, change your passport before interview.  Green card in visa name, visa in passport name.   Bring both passports to interview if you've already completed the DS-260.  The name isnt an issue.

alright... so from your response i can just bring both my expiring passport and the new one on the embassy interview... (from most of the recommendations here, I can put my new passport on married as it wont matter). Now that we clear that my passport name wont matter... I guess my final concern is Ive sent all my original docs on USCIS and NVC with my maiden name... will that not impact any future processing? sorry if im overanalyzing this...

You can change your passport anytime in the process.   We started with one in Mary's maiden name and miraculously received a new one in her married name in about a week when she did the renewal in Mexico City.  She took both to the consulate.   ASC and medical used her old one and the consulate officier changed it to the new one during the interview.   Absolutely no problem!  Saves the $$$ cost of doing a I-90 to get a new one.

Thanks is this during the NVC processing as well?

Why are you worrying about a passport that still has a year of validity?  Get your visa, travel to the US. Visit a Filipino consulate that has control over your area. Submit your passport renewal. Wait for it to be completed and returned to you. Easy Peasy. This is much ado about nothing.

No my passport dont have a year validity anymore it is less than a year... my point here is that theres a requirement to use passport that has a 6months validity upon travelling... we are currently in process of sending my documents to NVC and that may require 2-3 months of processing... after that theres a month or less before US embassy stamped my passport... it would leave me atleast a 7month timeline in my passport... i still have a job and I dont think I can leave with all the things i needed to do in a month so theres a risk that I may have to renew before flying but my problem is if my visa is stamped on the old one... if i dont renew and use my current passport i may have issues travelling either manila immigration or us immigration. I hope this clears why im having my concern.

  11. Hi, my passport is about to expire on May 2021. Given the processing times and the current pandemic im not sure if I could leave before December 2020. My concern is im about to send documents to NVC this upcoming weeks depending on when I can finish all the docs. so my question is do I change my passport now before sending it to NVC? or do I wait for them to stamp my visa on my current passport and apply for a new one, once I have it? And if im going to renew my passport now should I change to my married name or is it ok to keep my maiden name? I have used my maiden name during application to USCIS since my passport then is still my maiden name. I am not worried if I change it, it may cause a dispute on my end. and if i dont change it maybe they would question me about it? (although im pretty sure its legal everywhere to keep their maiden name even if they are married)

We need to buy a house to apply? You need to be a citizen to buy a house. So how could buying a house be a requirement? My wife can't work. How can you even work if you are here illegally? Pay what amount in full? What do we have to pay? No, they pay in PHP here. Not dollars. And that is not minimum! It is one of the highest salaries. We are renting. So we can apply with our rental contract? Do you know where? How?

Well you are reported! What a disgusting person!

Im wondering if its the wife or the husband writing these... it seems like comprehension is very futile....

Pretty sure. But I am 100% sure. The I130 is a US form. It does not apply. You can still be arrested. Even with Filipino parents.

Edit-How long ago was this? You know the laws here change almost monthly, right? Also, since the BI is part of the DOJ, all they have to do is issue a memo. basically, they write a note, and it is law. it is 2019 now. Dual citizenship ended in 2003.

Sure that you are wrong? Are you saying you we filipinos dont know whats our right? This is getting confusing... As for laws we dont change it monthly (i sure hope this is sarcasm) anyway it didnt ended on 2003 it was revises and is now called retention or reacquistion of Philippine Citizenship.  http://immigration.gov.ph/index.php/services/citizenship-retention-and-aquisition/application-for-retention-re-acquisition-of-phil-citizenship

So i think you might have confused that information. that is an official website so you can say it is legit.

My guess is you are trying to buy a house or car here in the Philippines.

If that is the case here is an information that may help:

    1. Both you and your wife has a regular job or employment.

    2. Bank account that proof of income and savings (this should show that you can pay the amount in full if there is no work or not a regular employee)

    3. For the case of a house and lot foreigners are not allow to purchase unless they become a citizen however for Condo i think its a different case. but you said your wife was in the US for only a PR card which means she is not a US citizen yet which means her Philippine citizenship is still valid. proof of validity is the fact that you were able to return to the country with her Philippine Passport.

Now you being a foreigner you cannot acquire a property  but you wife being a Filipino citizen can (despite you claiming she is stateless when we dont have state based criteria in the Phils)

     a. but she needs to have a proof of income or employment that can pay for that expense

    b. you have a joint account that states that she has enough money to buy the property ( shouldnt be an issue as you claimed above you are one of the millionaires in the philippines because you are earning 10,000-20,000 a month which i hope in dollars because if its peso then that is just a minimum salary)

    4. sponsorship or joint sponsorhip - means a person who agrees to pay for your debt in case you failed to pay for it. which is a filipino citizen too. but this is usually required if you dont have a steady income or doesnt have sufficient evidence that you can pay out debt.

so the big question is are you and your wife currently employed? If not then i suggest to rent out first, find a job and buy it as soon as you have enough evidence of financial support.

Yes I130 is a US immigration form. You mention above that you dont know that you have to sponsor her. when you petition her to be in the US it was noted that you should be able to sponsor her while she doesnt have a work? Or are u saying that you have to sponsor her while you are in the philippines?

Fear from arrest? Why would the US need to be involved for asylum? She did go to the US. I said that. But not sure why that matters? She is stateless, because we cannot afford to buy her citizenship anywhere. Why would we go BACK to the US? We just left. Why would I want a US-based job when I left the US because of the jobs? Also, are plane tickets to America free? If so, why can't we just fly somewhere else? Surely it would be cheaper to fly to Thailand than the USA? Might even get a boat? I was unaware I needed to sponsor her. We have no assets. Where can we find a sponsor or joint sponsor? I had no idea this was required.

  15. 5 minutes ago, tim_lyn_brigade said:

Yeah one year. You can come back to the Philippines, but you are very restricted. Can't work, can't buy land. And have to leave after a year. Leave to where? They did away with dual citizenship years ago. Back in 2003. So no more dual citizenship allowed. No, not a US citizen.

Sir Im from the Philippines and im pretty sure that you dont lose citizenship by being in the US for just over a year. I have friends from who left the Philippines already with PR in US and in Canada but are still FIlipino citizens by right of birth until they revoke citizenship when they acquire a new one. Also as for sponsorship wasnt that required when you apply for I130?
