  1. The consulate has responded!

    Here's what they said:

Please read instructions again on police certificate: 3rd countries you lived in for more than 12 months after the age of 16, you are required to obtain clearance.

3rd countries?? Anybody has any idea of what that means?

Though, that's sounds like happy news to me! Coz I've only stayed in Australia for less than 12 months, so I don't need a cert from them right!

  2. The consulate is the section (or department) within the Embassy that issues visas. I suggest calling or e-mailing the consulate that you will use to issue the visa to you. The consulate should answer your question regardless of whether you have packet 3 or not. It takes time to get all the documents... getting started now is a good idea....

And that's what I'll do! Thanks a million fwaguy! ^_^(F):star:

I'll post here when I receive a reply from my consulate.

  3. waaaaaaaaaaannnhhhh :(

I'm the only one left that didn't get a NOA2 yet...

I am in the same grouping as Nini & Bee along with two others that are filing for K-1s

No one's touching my file!! =(

Aww liz_legend, I'm sorry to hear that... But did you register for a account in USCIS? When was your case last updated? Here's a link if you haven't created an account. https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp

Be glad that you're a VSC filer though! I'm sure you'll get approved much faster than us CSC filers! :innocent:

  4. Be careful here as you are dealing with an issue that might vary from consulate to consulate. The best answer will come from your consulate. However, there was a VJ'er who applied via the consulate in Kiev. In Kiev, a police certificate is needed for time spent abroad of 1 year (some consulates are 6 mos.). His fiancee spent two different stints in Japan of 6 months and a few days each. Kiev aggregated the time to get over the 1 year threshold and required a police certificate from Japan.

    Hi fwaguy,

Thanks for your response. When you say ask my consulate, do you mean calling the US embassy in my country? Sorry if this seemed like a stupid question, but I'm new here. Also, do you think they'll entertain me if I haven't even received my Packet 3 yet?

The thing is that, I've checked on how to go about obtaining a police cert from Australia, and it seems like they don't need to see documentary proof from the immigration authority requiring the certificate. So I thought if I really needed a police cert from them, I can obtain it in advance, prior to receiving my packet 3, just to get a head start on the process. Since getting a police cert takes time.

    Should I do that?

  5. Yay! I logged into my bank today and saw the $170 check had cleared. Clicked on it and found a lovely WAC#. Created my account online and I see:

"On April 13, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)"

It's gonna be a good day!

way to go....I saw today that our check had cleared at the bank...you said you found your wac# on it can I ask where i would found that? thanks Debbie (usa) Martijn ( Netherlands)

    Hi Debbie,

You should be able to see the WAC# at the back on your scanned check's image. :)

  6. Hey to all my fellow April filers,

I've received some great news. :D

    "Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On April 25, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)..."

After receiving that email, I tried calling my fiance at work, and then ran around the house screaming in joy.

Here's to hoping that the rest of this process is going to be just as fast!

*waves the good luck pompoms for the rest of you all*

    OMG OMG CONGRATS!!!

Wow, that's really fast!! You got your approval within a month!

Thanks for the good luck, just wish CSC will get a move on!

  7. Hey all,

I spent almost a year studying in Australia. And fact is, I was there for about 5 months, flew back home for term break, and then went back to Australia for about 5 more months before returning home for good. That means in total I've spent about 10 months in Australia, though not continously. Do I still need a police cert from Australia?

And if I do, can I obtain it before my packet 3 arrives? Thank you all! :D

  8. Another slow week in NOA2 world as only 9 people reported receiving there notification ...

    K-1 Case Views

    Hi there fwaguy!

I was looking through your April filers, and don't see our timeline updated in there? We have our NOA1 receipt date of 10th April....

Thanks for the great work you've done on your website!

Out of town all weekend (amazing that I do have a life outside of VJ  )..... I will get an update done here soon....

    Thanks a million fwaguy! (F):star:

  9. Evening everyone! :D

I've just checked my timeline and my estimated adjudicated date has gone down from the 21st July to the 20th! A small move sure, and I know it's only an estimation but it's made me smile nonetheless!

Where do you check the "estimated adjudicated date"?

    Hey there,

it's at the bottom of your Timeline, if you've filled it in. :D

  10. Evening everyone! :D

I've just checked my timeline and my estimated adjudicated date has gone down from the 21st July to the 20th! A small move sure, and I know it's only an estimation but it's made me smile nonetheless!

Hey wellywench! Wow, I didn't know that the date will go down! Good for you! :D:thumbs: Here's hoping that everyone here will get a speedy NOA2!

    GO APRIL filers GO!

  11. I'm new to all this posting stuff, besides the K-1 process.

Sent I-129F from MN to Nebraska certified mail on Mar 30. Got the card back from post office Apr 9, says it was delivered on Apr 2.

Got my I-797 Notice of Action (NOA1) from CSC :) on Apr 9, the Recieved Date on the notice says Mar/30, which is wrong becuase that is the day I sent it, but no big deal. The Notice Date is listed as Apr/5.

I am wondering how some of you have the timelines attached to your posts? I found the official timeline that I updated but some of you have lots of other info on your timelines. I'll probably figure it out.

    Good luck to all :)

Hi there TT&QQ! Welcome to the April Filers club!

I see that in your Timeline, the consulate stated is Singapore! Hey! Is your fiance or fiancee from Singapore? My fiancee is from Singapore too! :D

  12. Wow!! I am mailing off our I-129F Package tomorrow to TSC... I think I will use USPS Express as well... Is it true that all 129Fs are going to California except Vermont? or including Vermont?

Its mid April, so hopefully I will see how fast everyone elses came in as a good estimate for me... God grant us favor!

Welcome MaRob! ^_^ Yes, all I-129Fs from TSC are going to CSC, which is a lil unfortunate! Yeah, we all wish they're going to VSC instead! But, oh well..
