Go here to request for your missing paper notice: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do;jsessionid=26E38183DF4DA576E827BACE0F316DED?sroPageType=ndn&entryPoint=init

When you call USCIS, say 'technical problem' and at some point you'll get routed to an agent. The agent can also give you your receipt number verbally while you wait for your paper NOA.

Thank you! I went to the link and filled out my form but it wouldnt let me submit because I don’t have the receipt number

Did you ever get your response for your expedite request?

Not yet :( Received another update from the congresswoman though. She called USCIS today and said the case is now with the supervisor of the unit, under review... and said that the final decision should be made in 7-10 business days.... kinda defeats the purpose of expedite if we have to wait for a month! I doubt I would still received an answer in 2 weeks... sucks...

    Hello,

I've been refreshing USCIS case status page few times a day and today it finally changed to new message (first message was that they have proceeded my wife's fingerprints).

    Now it says:

Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview

As of July 10, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC999999999, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

What does it mean? Should we expect interview letter soon, or they are just teasing us? :)

Fingerprints were taken on June 3rd 2019.

    Thank you

That means you're in a queue for an interview. It could take months though. My friend status changed to that and the interview wasn't until 6 months later.

Hi may I ask how you got to expedite your advance parole travel document? I am also thinking the same thing since I’ve been waiting for almost 8 months and still nothing. Pls let me know if you got urs approved. Ty!

Call the 1-800 numbers and ask for an expedite. They will give you the expedite numbers. Prepare all your documents for expedite and write a cover letter explaining why you need an expedite and back it up with a proof. I went to my congressman and give them the proofs. And she submitted them to USCIS.

For me the next thing after that notification was a letter asking me to fax some evidence in (most people get an email instead I think). Either way you should expect to receive a communication from them detailing the next steps within the next couple days to a week.

I didn't get an email asking me to submit anything, but I believe the congressman have sent all the documents this morning (mentioning the expedite case number as well) before this email update from USCIS

  6. I called USCIS yesterday and asked for an expedite of my travel document. Today, I received this status to my email:

"The status of this service request is:
Your request has been forwarded to the proper department for further review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly. We hope this information is helpful to you."

And I got these updates as well on my USCIS account:
    • 07/09/2019

On July 9, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1B1*********NSC, was completed.

    • 07/09/2019

On July 9, 2019, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1B1*********NSC.

    • 07/09/2019

On July 9, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1B1*********NSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

What does it mean? Does it mean my expedite request has been approved? Or they're still deciding if they're going to approve the expedite or not? Anyone experienced this before?

      Thanks guys for your time.

You will have to apply for a Japanese visitor visa at the appropriate Japanese consular post after you receive the travel document: https://www.us.emb-japan.go.jp/jicc/consulate-guide.html

That's true, but can I still use my Refugee Travel Doc.... my Refugee Travel doc is currently pending with USCIS, and my greencard was approved today.. Or should I jusy update them on my status? If I refile it from the beginning, not sure I will have enough time to travel..

  9. Hello guys, I'm so happy today!

Here's my story! I hope I can help you feel at ease if you're in the same situation as me...

My I-485 has been pending since May 2017. I had my interview back in April 2019 and received an RFE 3 weeks later asking me to renew my I-693 since it was expired... I submitted the new I-693 two weeks later. Few days later, I received a denial notice!! WTH!! It was because the civil surgeon failed to answer one question on the form which was me having no class A and B condition. I was so mad! The doctor didn't give me the copy and I forgot to ask. I trusted him. I should've reviewed it, ugh. (Guys, please review everything. Don't trust your doctors or lawyers! They don't care about you.) So, I went back to the doctor, he kept avoiding me, and his office didn't even apologize.. The supervisor was like "Maybe you were denied because of something else" despite me showing her the denial letter mentioning only that the only reason for the denial. I was pissed! My lawyer will help me file a lawsuit against them demanding a reimbursement of the I-290B fee and my lawyer's fee to reopen the case. Anyway, another civil surgeon in that office decided to complete a new I-693. This time, I reviewed everything before they seal it... and guess what!!!! This time, they forgot to include the evidences of the vaccination shots.. and the test results... I was so pissed!! So, I informed them that everything should be included!! They were really careless...they didn't care about making things right. I also demanded them to write a letter acknowledging that it was their mistake and not mine. So, they did.

Anyway, I filed Motion to Reopen and sent it 6 days later after my denial letter was received. I included Form I-290B, the fee of $675, a cover letter that explains why my I-485 should be reopened and that it was not my fault. Since the civil surgeon was authorized and trained by USCIS to perform this, they are partly responsible. I also included the new, sealed I-693 and the letter from the civil surgeon. I sent it with USPS Priority mail to Chicago Lockbox as mentioned in the denial letter, and it should've been received 2 days later, but it arrived a week later. I thought it was lost. Since the tracking updated the same message on the same time everyday for 4 days "In transit, arriving late" Maannn, I was so anxious. It wasn't a great month for me. But, it finally arrived 6 days later than the expected date. I received the text message from USCIS acknowledging that they received the package 5 days later. Then I received NOA1 4 days later. Anyway today is the 20th day since the MTR was received by Chicago Lockbox. I received an email and text message that my case was reopened... then 10 minutes later, the status changed again to approved!! I couldn't believe it since I read some topics here on VisaJourney discouraging people to not file MTR and just refile the wholething, I was kinda discouraged, but I filed MTR anyway. Since, I just didn't feel like waiting for another 2 years if I refile, just ridiculous. Last week, I contacted my congresswoman for a help making an inquiry regarding the case, and 4 days letter (including weekends), my case changed to reopened and approved.

    Here's the timeline:

Denial letter received: June 1, 2019

MTR filed and sent: June 6, 2019

Received by USCIS: June 12, 2019

    Text message: June 17, 2019

    NOA1: June 21, 2019

    Contacted congresswoman: June 28, 2019

    MTR Reopened: July 2, 2019

    I-485 approved: July 2, 2019 (10 minutes after reopened)

I won't be back to this form til it's time for me to apply N-400! haha Have a great day!! Thanks for everything!

This was not recent...this was back in 2018 when I filed my packet.....BUT, I called USPS customer service and made an inquiry. They gave me a case # and I was contacted by the person who receives and signs for all the mail that go to the main USCIS center in California. He said somebody didn't offload a mail bin off one of the trucks and it "accidentally" went back to the main center so that's why I saw it transiting back and forth between Florida and then en route to California and then back to Florida.

He was really nice and said he specifically searched for my packet when the mail bin came back to their facility (don't know if he was truthful) but claims he found my packet and was processing it for distribution to a case worker at the facility.

If 1 week has passed since you mailed your packet out, I suggest contacting USPS customer support and getting a case number so that a human being can physically follow up on where your packet is.

    Good luck!

Glad it worked out for you. Mine seems stuck in the final distribution center and hasn’t made it to the local office yet. I don’t know why.

So funny that it's USPS at it again 😕

I mailed my ROC packet thru USPS and it made it to California in 2 days BUT.....it was then shown as being returned to West Palm Beach on the 3rd day.....I was like WHAT???!!!!!

Then, on day 5, it made another loop and was headed back to California.....USPS does not surprise me with their shenanigans.

Sorry that you are going thru this and feeling the pressures of anxiety.

Sorry to hear that. Kinda sucks actually... hope it does not get lost. =\

This is not unheard of from USPS. Happens all the time. Should only delay things by a day or 3 max.

Next time stick to fedex or UPS. I understand it tends to be a bit on the expensive side but

I know both do not deliver to PO Boxes but you can remove that and just add

    USCIS
    Attn: <Form No>
    400 Some Address

    Random City

    State ZIP Code

I would have sent it using fedex or ups, but on the letter I received from USCIS asking me to submit to the pobox address in chicago lockbox, hence I sent using USPS... I am thinking of resending it, can I just send it using fedex to their address on here?

  13. I mailed a time sensitive document back to USCIS on June 6, 2019. It was supposed to be delivered on June 8, 2019, but the tracking has not been updated since the 8th... now everyday from 9th to 11th today says "In transit, arriving late" It's so agonizing. I'm anxious AF. Anyone else in this situation?
