how do you check the change of address through congressman??? I hear this for the first time. What's the process?

I had case approved jan 31, changed my address last week.

couple of weeks after the case was approved.

Well what to do. I intensely hated New York. Could no longer stay here. Just not my place to be.

No just Courtesy letter. And I have just changed my address from NY to CA. Not sure how it would affect. Anyways I don't think they transferred case to NY yet. I have heard that CA is faster.

Hi Everyone!

I have a questions about medical exam. We did not send the form I-693 together with I-485 2 years ago and now we got the letter saying the form I-693 is missing, bring it to the interview.

Please advise how it's better?

Should I get it done right away now or wait till I know when the interview is?

I'm also worried of how the case will be processing because right after my I-360 was approved I changed the address in the form I-485 from New York to California.

So concluding two questions:

1) how long medical exam is valid 

2) anybody here moved from NY to CA or other states at the point of when the case was approved and interview was pending? I appreciate any ideas of how the process is going etc.

and additional question:

My lawyers applied my son under a separate case (don't ask me HOW, I don't know too). So his case is still pending and only my case was approved. In case something is wrong, what might be the procedure to just re-apply him under mine? Anyone ever faced this type of stuff? I'm a bit worried. Good to know my case was approved but what about my 9 year old child!????

My lawyers even don't tell me this means the approval.. I check every single document after them and collected all the evidences myself paper by paper..

They made me collect weird paperwork for my son.. however why should we at all prove my son's abuse? He is my dependent.

Well why I come to this forum. Because only here I can get at least some valid information.

My timeline:

3/2018 filed I-360, I-485 and I-765 (my lawyers mistakenly filed it under C31) for me and my son 

ONLY 3/2019 THANKS to this forum I found out that my lawyers had to file I-765 under C09 and this was the reason I was without EAC for SO long!

3/2019 they filed the new I-765 but made a lot of mistakes and it got back..

only 5/2019 the new forms were accepted

I received my EAC pretty fast after that in 8/2019

At the same time end of August we received request for additional evidences for my I-360

In the end of October we sent the documents back

today 12/5 I received this notification that the card was produced!!!!

HOWEVER there is something that worries me. My son's case also received request for additional evidences for some reason. He was not present with me at the time of abuse, BUT he is only 9 years old and is a minor. Should he not receive documents together with me?

Lawyers sent the documentation yesterday with my affidavit and few other affidavits to support. But it doesn't make sense to me. Why do they ask questions?

So his case is yet to be approved. Which is very weird.

Good morning everyone. My I-360 this morning got the status "new card has been produced". What card is meant? It can't be a green card?

We sent documents after the request for additional evidences end of October and today this is the update.

Who knows what card? And what generally does this mean? The case approved or what?

PS: I was thinking what if this is an EAC, but I got my EAC in August. They can send the second one? But this is too early.. I'm confused.

OMG, it was forever. I wrote quite a while ago my lawyers filed under the C31.. so of course that one still pending.

But i made them file the new C09 and there were also some mistakes. So the receipt was beginning of May and I received it by now. Did not even expect so fast from the receipt date.

The case itself is March 2018. They requested additional evidence. Need additional for good moral character, good intentions for marriage and criminal history from here and home country. They need last 3 years. I've been here for 2 years now.

Hopefully will collect everything and send out. At least I have work authorization finally. That's first huge relief.

But still a lot of fight on the way.

After long of wait I finally had my EAC delivered yesterday!!!!!! Question, some people say SSN comes to the same address automatically now, some that I have to go to social security office.

What is true?

Prayers to everybody! We all here can relate to what has been passed. My lawyers also applied my I-765 under C31 and I'm still without papers. We filed the new under C09 2 weeks ago.

Wonder if that new form is there along with other papers might it affect any bad way since they started review the petition?

Everything is unclear and with my lawyers I have to dig into all information myself sadly. They're not useful at all.

Mine was sent 3/2/2018 and just today I received this first notice after fees were waived. A bit nervous. But will hopefully provide everything they want and it will all goo smoothly.

Just now received an update for my I-360. It was filed in March 2018.

They request additional documentation. Normally what they want comes in the paper notice, right?

I don't trust my lawyers at all and suspect they might filed something wrong. What do they normally request and what recommendation you have regarding this? And how long does it take them to start reviewing these additional evidences till they make a decision on the petition? Thank you so much in advance! Thanks to this forum I found out lots of important things.

My update. They agreed to file under C09 but said c31 wasn’t a mistake and it was ok to file it under Vawa.... no comments.. well at least they do it... now fingers crossed to receive it ASAP..

You have the right to fire the attny and hire a new one or fire them and do it yourself. Be wary of sending your own form- many attnys will drop you as a client if you do such.

By the way at this point how can I change my lawyers? If they applied my case and their address stands on all documents. All correspondence comes to their office. Not sure how technically it can be. 

But at least what I decided to do is I found another lawyer and agreed she will take my case for check. If such a mistake was already made who knows what else they could file wrong. I was told till the case is started to process we can send additional documents.

however being as stressed as we are on Vawa cases it’s so terrible to meet lawyers who don’t really care about you.

They are my huge headache. I’m so stressed. I want to make them fix their error with C31 by submitting a new form, then at least I’ll get it 3-6 months because nobody knows when my Vawa will start moving. Just am scared. Lawyers are people who love to turn stuff against you to cover their mistakes. I need to be calm. I’m just thinking of all time wasted. When they were bull**ing me about shutdown, trump reforms and such reasons for my I-765 to be delayed. Can I protect myself at all from such lawyers?

Here is VJ sample form, your form may be different because this is the most recent version. The previous versions are not that much different. On this version you can see at the bottom of page 1 (number 16) where it says what category. If it says C09 then you are well with in your rights to ask about whats going on since its been 1 year now. 

 

Also didnt see the part about the fee waiver stuff. Using a fee waiver or paying makes NO difference to how they handle your case except for them needing to approve the fee waiver before processing - where if you sent a check they start processing immediately. Even factoring in time for the fee waiver to be approved puts you way out of normal processing times for a C09 EAD. 

Do you know if I can apply the new I-765 under c9? My weird lawyers applied it under C31. I’ve been waiting a year already and how long would I wait till I-360 approved nobody knows. Extremely frustrated with lawyers incompetence:((((

I can't trust them at all. Waiting SO long without trying to double check under what form they filed it. I did not know a things about it before I was advised here on it.

Well my lawyers did not even know there there is NO interview on the petition itself just during AOS. Face palm..:((

IF you filed under C09 in March 18 you should have had it by now. I suspect they filed EAD under C31 which means you dont get EAD until VAWA approved. Please check your forms and see what category was used and post back. You can either request an EAD under C09 now or wait for VAWA to be approved. If it was under C09 you need to find out what the delay is. Probably will need to use congressperson.

Can't find this number on the notice. Please advise how to check it? Thank you!

My lawyers are strictly against linking congressman saying it will negatively affect the case and the case can be dropped or reviewed even later.

It feels like I'm stuck. Do you have any true information regarding this? If they are right or they just don't know for sure and want to get rid of me.

As I understand if there would be problems or any additional papers needed they would had request them?

But this is just a long wait nothing else.
