  1. Hi, I’m about to apply for AOS for my spouse that came in on a K1 visa. Actually I applied 2 weeks ago but received a rejection “I-485 priority date could not be established”. I am guessing I made a mistake in part 2) 1.a I checked immediate relative but she came in on a K1, I’m guessing I should of entered the person admitted on a k1 box, but how do I make sure the box labeled “priority date” is correct? What is the priority date I should enter there so I can resubmit my I-485 asap.

  2. I was in the same situation. The only way to get through is if you can early and catch them right when they open or late, about an hour before they close. Just be ready to stay on the line and wait it out. I was on the line for about 1 1/2 hrs the first time I got in contact with them and the second time, I called early and it took me about 5 minutes.

    Greetings Everyone,

Hope all is well and everything is still in proper order. My fiance and I are still awaiting our interview date, currently 515 days. To clear she will interview in Abu Dhabi on October 17th, 2021 and hopefully we will receive approval. I'm not sure who is left from the original May group, but I wanted to reach out and encourage anyone remaining to keep the dream alive. Thanks for the support and good luck out there.

Im also at 502 days as of today. Been waiting but nothing has changed. I’m still stuck at the NVC. We are using the Tashkent, Uzbekistan embassy.

No updates here. We filed a mandamus action towards the beginning of July and that has not helped so far. July statistics show they issued 172 F, J and B visas combined. That number of interviews is astonishing with how few they have given per month the past year. But, of course, they could only find room for 1 K.

I don’t understand why they’re not issuing visas. It just doesn’t make sense that they’re open but “limited”. It’s been almost 2 years! At least give the people who are pending an option to transfer to any open embassy or just another option.

My wife went to her CR1 interview in the beginning of August and was asked to provide additional proof of relationship. I went to the embassy with her as the petitioner, but they didn't let me in. Seems like they're slowing everyone down. I spoke to another person with a CR1 case who has been in administrative processing since November 2020. The day of the interview another older lady came out of the embassy saying that they requested additional documents from her as well. Not sure whether they're scheduling K-1 interviews at this point.

I had a K1 interview in 2019 and they kept asking for additional documents pertaining to our case. Finally they denied us without telling us why. We found out after we refiled K1 that they said it was non-bonafide. We wanted to do the cr1 but then covid came along so we refilled for the K1 without much option. Here we are, stuck without communication from the embassy with no one to hear our concerns! It seems they deny for any small thing in this embassy.

I know this is kind of an older thread; but if the person received an Emirates ID he/she can obtain a Police Clearance from Dubai/UAE online at https://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae/wps/portal/home/services/individualservicescontent/goodconductcertificatecatalog

    - upload 1 picture with white background (passport photo)

    - Active Email Address

    -cost is 300 Dirhams ($88)

My fiance received his UAE police clearance certificate via email in about 24 hours. It clearly states on the certificate how to validate the authenticity

Yes, thank you! We had already gotten it online as well.

If it was me I wouldn't wait.   When I was in that situation we immediately started planning the wedding

Well that’s what we want to do, but can I get married if my case still says administrative processing? The CO didn’t tell us it was rejected, but they asked for more information on a 221 g and when I emailed it to them they said the petition was returned to uscis. I don’t know if we would be allowed to get married until the application is officially denied?

For a k2 to be issued it requires the standard set of required evidence, the approval of the k1, and for most consulates, permission from the biological father.

For them to send the petition back would be  because of a determination of ineligiblility on the k1 application.

Yes, I need to figure out why they sent it back. I don’t know, I already went over the entire application to see if maybe we entered something wrong that didn’t match with the interview questions. We are lost and trying to figure this out, but nothing else to do gt Han to wait and see. We will take it from there.

  9. Well it now seems like they didn’t even contact the biological father and sent the petition back to USCIS. Looks like a denial 😑😑 I guess now we wait until they tell us what the denial was based on. I don’t understand why they requested the biological fathers information and  didn’t even bother, just sent the petition back.

Wow, I have never heard of so many interviews for a K-1.

Is it possible that per local Uzbek law, a biological father retains parental rights, even if not named on the BC?  Was there ever a DNA test?

Sounds as if you may need the help of an attorney.

The CO said it was “US Law” procedure. That’s why I was very puzzled. There was never any DNA test since the father lives in another country different from my fiancé.

  11. My fiancé based out of Tashkent Uzbekistan has had her 4th interview for K1 since August. We have been on administrative processing since August, but they keep calling back for additional interviews. The last interview was today, October 29. We had a 221 g requesting for a PC from Dubai. We turned it in. Now they are asking for the contact information for the biological father of the K2. Fiancé did not know the whereabouts of the biological father, but was able to locate information through social media. The biological father is not on the birth certificate since he did not acknowledge the child and wanted nothing to do with the baby. Now US Embassy is requesting his contact information to ask for consent for the child (1 year 3 months) to come to the US. Fiancé reached out to him and he said he would consent.

    my question is...

    1) what is the process for this?

    2) will they have to sign through an attorney? Or do they just contact K2s biological father and speak with him?

    3) does the embassy help us out with this or do we have to deal with this on our own?

I just wanted some input of someone who has been in a similar situation.

I am confused here since the father is not on the birth certificate, but they said it was procedure for US law, which I understand, but I would assume they wouldn’t contact him since he is not on the birth certificate.

I’m looking for some  opinions..... I am well aware of the requirement of having met each other within two years of filing the  petition.  I went to visit my fiancé in October 2018, and we will be filing our petition within the next few months. But since it’s approaching a year since we have Physically seen each other and  although  we have plenty of proof to provide , I  was wondering if it would be a good idea to try and have another visit before we actually file the I-129 F.  Any comments and/or experiences would be appreciated . Ultimately the interview would take place at embassy in Mumbai

Personally, I felt confident with my fiancé going into the interview. I haven’t seen my fiancé since February and wanted to go but it’s expensive and she wanted to fly back together so I decided to wait until after her interview. So she had her interview yesterday and they told her they wanted me to be there at a different Interview. I know it’s not a requirement, but they requested I be there with my fiancé. I’ll probably head out there in early-mid September.

  13. Hi, my fiancé had her interview in TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN and our case was sent to administrative processing due to her not obtaining a police clearance from Dubai, UAE. We thought since she no longer lives in Dubai, she was not able to obtain a police clearance. Can someone point me in the right direction? Fiancé said she was on tourist visa for 12 years in Dubai. Don’t see how this is possible, but we have until September 30 to go back for 2nd interview and resubmit the Dubai police clearance for K1 Visa. There was 2!checks on the form provided, it was #11 for the UAE police clearance and #21 which says additional verification is required.
