    But you are thinking about doing the next one more by the end of the year, right? So that will be a healthy amount of time in between visits.

    CBP is strict because there are plenty of people who try to enter on a non-immigrant visa or Esta and will try to stay. So make sure that you keep your job (or get the other one you mentioned), have shorter visits and don’t extend your stay once you’re in the US. CBP will see a clean travel history (you leave the US as scheduled every time) and that will help!

    I don’t see a lot of issues there, just make sure to have a shorter visit than you had now. I was able to visit my bf/fiancé/husband throughout our entire relationship, even after we started the spousal visa process. I visited for 2 weeks every 3-4 months. I had a stable job/life and never had any issues visiting.

    You are the Canadian citizen, right? No, you can’t enter the US on a non-immigrant visa with the intent to adjust status (meaning: staying in the US). What you can do is get married and your spouse then needs to file for the CR1 visa so you can move to the US after that is approved. You will go through the process in Canada, not the US.

    Keep your next stay shorter than this one for sure. How were you able to stay this long? Do you have a job?

    Nope, not legal. Your spouse needs to start the spousal visa process. You can try to visit as long as you keep strong ties to Canada. I was able to continue to visit my husband while my spousal visa was pending, I did short visits of 2 weeks every 3-4 months.

    Yes, your cousin is related to you (as you know) so you need to answer that question with a yes. And you will have to move to a state that allows first v cousin marriages

    Okay, so then your SSN should arrive somewhere in the first week of the New Year (maybe a little later because of the Holidays). Nobody receives a pack upon arrival, maybe you are confusing this with the pack that some people receive when they receive their passport back with their visa and that they have to hand over to CBP when they first enter on their immigrant visa? But a lot of that is digital now, I didn't receive a pack, it was all in the system.

    The SSN takes about 2 weeks to arrive in the mail. When did you enter the US? Your greencard can take up to 90 days to arrive.

    Just wanted to let you know that I hope that this all works out for you, but more importantly that you will be okay once/if he gets to the US. Dealing with a spouse with an addiction is not easy, and I hope he manages to stay clean from now on and that the adjustment of status process (which is a very challenging process because he basically will not be able to work until he has his work authorization) is not going to make him relapse.. Sending you big hugs!

    You won’t receive that extension until you after you file for the removal of conditions. The window for the removal of conditions opens 90 days before the expiration date of your conditional greencard.

    This is normal, the status will change from this to Administrative Processing and eventually Issued, but this could take from a few days to a few weeks, to a few months. Hope it'll update soon!

    Not mandatory for the K1, you will be fine. Some people choose to do it but it’s not required.

    Yes, that advice is not above board.. Also, that wouldn't be the K3 but that would be an adjustment of status. Immigration takes a while, it is a marathon and not a sprint.

    Your status could go to “refused” for a little bit (could be for a few hours, or days) but don’t freak out about that. After that it will change to “Issued”. It took 7 days for me to receive my passport back, but that was in the NL congrats!

    USCIS understands that couples who live in different countries might not have that type of evidence. We had no shared back account or credit card etc, and we had no issues. No need to create evidence just for the sake of it. Focus on evidence of time spent together instead.

    It would be a moot point because you have no control over which service center your case goes to.

    I think I’m school 4: “the service center might matter, but you can end up in a ‘quick’ service center on the desk of a ‘slow’ rep. This is a public forum, so anybody can respond how they like of course, positive or negative. Honestly, I’ve been a member here for a while and don’t recognize the schools you are referring to, but maybe you put me under school 3, I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Everybody here understands how difficult and frustrating the long wait times are, we’ve all been there. As frustrating as it is, please don’t go down this path. It’s just not right..
