Did you request combo when filing N-400 in cover letter? Or did you ask for combo on the day of interview? If the latter, no surprise IO was annoyed.

The good news, if you don't hear anything in the next 60 days, you can sue USCIS for decision (Writ of Mandamus).

Also, did you have spouse with you?

I was there with my spouse , she didn’t let him in since the beginning when she came for me, I didn’t have a cover letter as it was filed online , I did ask for a combo interview and asked if there was anything I could do, but she said no and that’s when she was angry and preaching my about who is telling us (in general filers) we can file n400 without an i571 approved or what a bad lawyer I had, then she told me it was over and showed me the exit.

  2. Just had my N-400 , but they didn’t agree to make it combo, so I passed the exam and gave me a letter stating that , yet, told me they couldn’t make a decision because the I-751 was pending. And the officer basically preached me about who told me to file N-400… anyways , has anyone been in this situation ? Suggestions ? USCIS says that Vermont is 25 months , so 80% chance they’ll process my I-751 until January 2025 :(

Hi there!  Thank you for sharing. My husband filed under 5yr rule.  He’s been in the U.S for over 10yrs. He’s just now applying for citizenship lol. Idk what made him wait so long. Nevertheless, I’m not sure why some are being processed faster than others.  I’m hopeful that we’ll hear back very soon.

Question: did you file with any criminal record, violations, unpaid traffic tickets, unpaid taxes etc?  Asking because I noticed that the people that filed with these things are taking longer to process.

if you don’t mind, keep me updated on your status.  I’ll let you know how it goes for my husband. And have faith! I’m sure we’ll hear back soon enough. :)

Hi ! nope, nothing outstanding :( boring here lol no news yet

  4. Hi ! I filed the last day of September 2023, so I consider myself under October filers, also from New York, unfortunately haven't heard back yet and was looking for some other New Yorkers as well to see if it's a NYC thing.

I was filing under the 3 years rule, idk if your spouse is under 3 or 5 years, hoping to get an update soon, I try not to stress as in the other threads people seem to be getting their appointments, right now my status say "Estimated time* until case decision:  Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You will be notified if you need to take any action." 😕 😢

Today I applied for N400, after 329 days of total inactivity on my ROC... and as it's an electronic application, already received NOA and Bio reuse.

Same here ! applied for N400 as soon as I could this week, had the 48months extension on Green Card, but pursuing citizenship seems more convenient for me right now. Good luck on your process!

Filed online Sept 29 2023 under 3 years of permanent residency under marriage, still waiting for my removal of conditions I-751 which I filed in October 2022.

Based in NYC, estimated time until case decision on website states 17 months, let's hope it's less! :)

    Update:

Sept 30th Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS. Estimated time went down from 17months to 10months

Under documents, just as described on other posts, biometrics reuse and receipt were available right away on the 29th

I kept calling and calling, each time asking to speak with an agent

Thank u! I was able to talk to a human on my 10th calll, for some reason the robot thought I wanted to update my info, and connected me to somebody.  Before, I had been asking to talk to a representative but kept falling in a loop of "talk to a representative" -> "need your receipt so they can help you better" -> "the status of your case is" -> "talk to a representative" -> "I can do several things or you can go online" -> "talk to a representative" -> "I'm going to finish the call"

I am currently in the process of calling USCIS to inquire about my case, and I have noticed they've changed the automated menu. Before you could press buttons to be able to speak to a representative, and now they have done away with it.

You are welcomed by a new automated system that will help with case checks and other inquiries, but if you ask to speak to a representative it will hang up on you on most cases. It took me 5 consecutive calls to be able to be connected to the representative queue. I had to try different phrases, like "transfer me to operator, transfer me to tier 2, late adjudication, emergency adjudication, please just transfer me you piece of s***," and some others.

I am still waiting to speak to a representative, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had luck with the new system.

Having the same issue but hadn't been able to get on the queue, what exactly did work for you?

    Hello everyone,

Has anyone been interviewed during these months in NYC? are they even open to interviews since lockdown?  I've filtered the cases and I only see 3 in the past month, I'm ready for the interview since Jan 31st 2020, anyone else in the same situation ?

My status changed today to interview scheduled, now gotta wait for the notice, does anybody know how to know it beforehand? (this would be really helpful as xmas season is coming and I'm planning on travel) I'm trying to call USCIS but the robot is not letting me speak to a person and keeps repeating the case status just like online.
