Unless the applicant needs a translator or has special needs, no other individual is allowed to accompany the applicant to the interview.

Thanks I was hoping to go with him since I’m here anyway.

Hello my parents have their interview on feb 15. In the interview email that my parents received, they asked for following. We are confused whose documents they need? mine the petitioner or my parents the beneficiaries? I don't work i got affidavit of support for them. This is an IR5 visa. If anyone could help I will appreciate. Below is what they asked for.

Your sponsors (petitioner, household members, and joint sponsors), may be required to provide updated or additional information for you to present at your interview, such as:

o Other Income o Assets • Proof of current employment

You just need to update your i864 and  if you had a joint sponsor they also need to update i864 update tax return transcript and w2, paystubs or employment verification letter.

Yes, the joint sponsor's husband should provide the I-864a even if they have never filed jointly.  It's the ONLY way to count his income with hers.  Note that income is stated two places on the form.  One is numbers from past tax returns.  The other is "current income".  You calculate current income, by multiplying the gross income on a full pay period pay stub, but the number of pay periods in a full year.  1k a week is 52k a year, for example.  State each of their current incomes separately, and the forms will total it.  Nothing special from the non-tax filing husband.  What is needed is in the instructions.  Become an A-Student of that document before proceeding.

Sounds good. Thank you for responding

You can't combine your brother in -law's income with your husband's.

Yes, not working will affect your chances of him getting a visa, as will you not being domiciled in the United States.

I suggest you read the I-864 form to get a better idea of the requirements.

My domicile has not changed.  I still live there I’m only here for visit. I have health insurance car insurance everything active.

my brother in law will be combining his income with his wife my sister (joint sponsor). My husband is the applicant.

Each joint sponsor must qualify on their own income, they cannot combine it unless it's a married couple.

They are married. Plus her income is good enough on her own but since ge got a job and it will make the total household income more that’s why I asked.  The only problem is they have not filed taxes together yet as he just moved there and got ssn etc.

  6. I have a few questions. My husband interview is coming up next month. I’m in Pakistan with my husband and our baby. I been here since the last three months. I left my job in September. My sister will be my joint sponsor and her husband will complete i864A.
    1. They have not filed taxes together yet, husband just moved to US and got a job?

    2. I had good income in the last few years but  currently not working will that affect our chances of him getting a visa?

    2. Is 41000 good income for a joint sponsor, her husband and my husband?

If the joint sponsor’s husband never filed taxes what documents should he provide with i864A?
again her husband just moved to the US last month and got a part time job and is willing to combine income with wife to sponsor my husband.

Congratulations on receiving the interview letter and regarding 2023 tax it's not a problem as long as you have w-2 for it. I had the same issue when my wife interview was coming but the IO didn't even looked at the papers although I didn't updated any thing online too except the 3 previous years tax documents and I gave her 2022 tax return to take by hand but IO didn't look at the papers so you are good just let your wife know to take every thing incase he asks for them. All the best

Thank you very much. I want to be 100% prepared. It’s been a long wait.

Thanks and yes I had the original divorce decree from California since my ex was an American national.

Did you divorce decree had any gold seals or just stamp? I didn’t get original because they said you only get certified copies in California.  It’s the two forms you get from county when everything is finished.

Yes he needs tax return for 2023  bcuz technically you can file in February if IL come in Feb then interview will be in March so for safe sides try to do ASAP when you get your info about taxes and able to file please after all that waiting don't give them any excuse to delay.🤞

Hopefully he will get his interview letter in January for interview in Feb. our DQ is May 2022

  10. Question everyone. With the current interviews appointment rate hopefully my husband will get his interview in February inshaallah. I wont be able to file tax by then for 2023 would that cause a problem. Should he just take W2 for 2023 to his interview. Or do you guys think they’ll ask for 2023 tax to be filed?

I'm in this boat. I was married 2015 in Lahore to my Canadian ex-wife and it was registered in Nadra (I'm American, we were both there studying).

I was in America when we divorced in 2021, and she was in Canada (had divorce in Nevada, also her case was rescinded and she never came here).

When I went to Pakistan to marry my (current) wife, I had my divorce decree stamped from the Los Angeles embassy. The nikkah haan used my divorce decree as a basis to put my marital status as divorced in my new nikkah nama.

What would the situation for myself be? Do I need a divorce from Pakistan even though me and and my ex-wife were never in Pakistan when we got divorced? My Nadra certificate shows my marital status as divorced. Will the embassy care?

Same they used my divorce decree as proof and change my status on my nadra marriage certificate. I only have marriage certificate from nadra and wondering if I need anything else.

  12. 2 hours ago, Kuchiki said:

Did your previous marriage take place in Pakistan and is it registered with NADRA? If not, then you do not need divorce certificate from Pakistan. US divorce certificate is all you need.

It took place in Pakistan but was never registered with nadra back then it was only Urdu nikah nama and English translation

Certified Divorce Decree from US is also called divorce certificate, it’s completely fine & acceptable, plus you should have taken divorce certificate from Pakistan too like from municipal committee.

If the divorce took place in the US how can I get divorce certificate from Pakistan? Thanks in advance

  14. Guys question anyone who made FRC did how did you guys add a US born child to your FRC. Nadra In pakistan won’t add my son to our FRC until he is issued a Pakistani birth certificate and to get a Pakistani birth certificate we have to give them original US birth certificate. Any tips are appreciated

I'm sick of waiting alone with my two kids, I miss my husband. I want to visit him. He wants me to visit him and stay until his interview but my toddler will go to school and I need to enroll her in April 2024. I've been traveling back and forth but now I have 2 kids and flying is a drag with them two. A toddler and infant. Knowing my husband he'll send me back to the States pregnant with a third baby😅 I wish Islamabad would hurry up. My DQ is Nov. 2022

I’m in the same boat. Planing on going to Pakistan with my two months old and staying there until hubby gets his visa. It’s a show.

  16. Do I need the original Form DS-3053: "Statement of Consent" or my overseas spouse can scan and email it to me for our son passport. My husband is in Pakistan and will notirize the consent form at US consulate in Islamabad. I’m just wondering once that’s done can he scan and email it to me to submit with our newborn passport application or dose he needs to mail the original. The passport is kind of urgent.

Why would you take police certificate since its not required from Pakistani applicants?

its not required but i know someone who was still asked for it, so we got it ready just in case. Dont want to get stuck in AP.

Congrats👌when is yoir interview scheduled for? and please let us know if you updated your documents on CEAC before your interview or just handed updated documents to officer because thats 1 question i was always confused on.

I would 100% take the updated documents to the interview, especially I864, Tax transcript, W2 and police certificate. I would not upload them to CEAC until they ask me to do it after the interview.
