When was his interview and did finally he got his passport or what. Did they give him 221G ,Please share thx.

His interview was in 2013, they give him 221G saying your case needs more processing or something like that i dont remember exactly, it was a basic father daughter petition. They emailed us at then end of 2014 i think and asked us to do Medical exam again. After redoing the medical they sent us his passport with visa in about three weeks.

No luck with my relative with his passport they just kept it without any reason almost since three months after interview 😞 God knows what they're doing in  ISL EMBASSY , no response to inquiry even anyone have any case like this please share . Thx.

I dont know why they are doing this, but they did the same thing with my Dad he was in AP for about 10 months and kept his passport the whole time.

Any thoughts or experience shared will appreciated if anyone knows anything about this kind of case in visa journey. 🤔

I really hope its a glitch in the system, like why would you give someone hope and then refuse it.  Honestly everything thats happening in Pakistan and now the US immigration is driving us crazy.  We lost a whole week of appointments. It SUCKS

What is wait time in Dubai embassy?

What is wait time in Dubai embassy?

If i could i would get work or student visa for Abu Dhabi they are faster than Dubai i think. If it was possible i would do India because right now they are processing October 2022 DQ's for IR1 cases.

Yes she needs to take updated IRS Tax return transcript, W2, paystub, and I864. I would wait to upload them to Ceac after i get the interview letter.

if there has been pay change or position change especially promotion get an updated employee verification letter.

My husband case was DQ'd May 2022. Once the US consulate Islamabad is close to that time (hopefully this year) i will complete a new I864, order 2022 Tax return transcript and W2. i will upload them online once we get the interview letter. Also i believe you need Covid vaccine proof for medical exam, i don't know about any other vaccine info.

Anyone who had interview for their wife ir1 spouse recently. Can you let us know if we need to update any current pay stubs or tax return to take with when the interview time comes? Or any other updated documents or they can just bring the ones that we uploaded on ceac website and how about for vaccine for when they go for medical examination. I want to make sure everything is good when her interview letter comes. And no any issues.

My wife give them the certified sealed + Stamp divorce copy. They refused the visa and told her to courier Passport + Original divorce certificate . I did confirm with the court here and court is saying they can only give Sealed + Stamp copy.

I dont know how to convince VISA officer ?

If someone have similar experience or suggestion please share

I would suggest go to the court where your divorce was finalized ask them to write you an official letter saying that they dont issue original certificates. Then send it to them i did a little bit of research and its true they wont give you the originals just a certified copy.

I uploaded as well as my wife bring the certified copy too. However officer asked them to get original certificate. In my State Connecticut court only give certified copies

Same in California we dont get original divorce certificate, only certified copy of divorce decree. Did your wife take the original certified copy of the decree or just a copy of it?

Anyone who's been same situation please answer.

Hi! Thanks for replying :) i do have a joint sponsor already, and am currently working, but if i move back then i’d have to leave that job. But considering i have the joint sponsor then it shouldnt be an issue right? And i plan on coming back a month before my husbands interview so that i can set up a place for us. I did that recently thinking we would get the IL within a month of being DQ’d as thats what their website said, and then later stumbled upon this page after waiting for months. So i dont really see a point in me living alone and so far away from him for an indefinite period of time. First they ask us to prove how real our relationship is and then put us through this torture of being away from one another. Sorry for the rant, im just honestly fed up and this forum really has provided me with a lot of my questions no one could seem to answer. Its comforting to know im not alone in this boat

Trust me, we know exactly how you feel. Imagine being pregnant alone and working full time to sponsor husband.  I'm losing it here lol.

They seem to be moving at a good pace, everyone please keep the  peaceful pressure on the ISl embassy.

Anyone know why they are skipping some DQ dates when sending out IL. I just saw on the Instagram page a lot of people got skipped for May 2021 DQ.

  13. I just read on a website some US citizens who spouses were waiting in Pakistan for interview filed a case against US consulate Islamabad. on the article they said that consulate is prioritizing afghan cases and B1/B2 visa appointments. Is this true? is this the reason we have to wait for so long to be with our loved ones?

    Hi there all:

It is a good sign to see that Islamabad Embassy is maybe moving a bit faster.

My wife is undergoing spouse visa process.

We were able to expedite our interview at ISL embassy (have been DQ since Oct 3rd, 2022)

We received an email indicating that our interview was expedited, that our interview date will be scheduled and emailed to us shortly (still waiting for the date)

It was expedited due to medical reasons for our newborn medical issues.

My question is: For spouse immigrant visa interview: after the interview, how long does it take to receive the passport? and be able to fly? I am sure there are varying time frames for different cases. But our case is straight forward, and an expedited interview due to our newborn baby born in Lahore (who is an American citizen at birth and needs to go to USA asap) medical issues. And there are no complications in our case, it is the first time I have sponsored for a spouse.

    Any input would be appreciated.

We are hoping to fly asap after the interview.

Also, Is there a way to expedite the passport handling and delivery?

Answer: After interview is approved and visa is issued it takes about one to two weeks to receive the passport back. They can fly as soon as they have their passports on hand, but i would advise not to buy tickets until they have passports on hand.

Oh yes 2023 my bad. I believe so they have interview dates for 13,24 and 31 March so they should be done

I dont know why Islamabad is so slow. Bangladesh and India are way ahead. Islamabad only issued 296 visas in the whole month of December. SMH

Yes, they doing this on purpose to the people of Pakistan. It’s better to shutdown this useless embassy in Islamabad.

Everywhere else is speeding up, but to be honest there is always something happing and roads are closed in Islamabad and they have to reschedule and cancel appointments. On their website there was a notification saying all Jan 30 interviews and appointments has been canceled like this adds up.

Does anyone know if courier services listed on the embassy site are reliable information? we went to submit our documents to Peshawar Speedex office today but it was closed, they said its been closed for a while. now im debating if i should trust that info. https://pk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/courier-services/

we are planning to try Islamabad office but not sure if its legit? anyone tried recently?

No.  There is no provision of the law to take anything other than the annual numerical limit, set by Congress, into account.

I'm not sure what you meant by "...if not for covid related backlog they would have got it on time based on previous timeline...".  The PD advancement is not "...almost three years behind".  When the petition was filed in 2015, the Priority Date (PD) being processed was in early 2002 (e.g., in February 2015 the current PD was 15 Apr 2002).  The earliest time for their PD to be current would have been predicted to be in 2028, more likely 2029 to 2030.  It has been rare for the F4 PD to advance more than 7 or 8 months per year.  Take a look at the approximate advancement per year during  past 12 years, using the February PD as an example:

    • 2010 was 15 Nov 1999
    • 2011 was 01 Jan 2000, approx. 1.5 months advancement
    • 2012 was 08 Sep 2000, approx. 9.25 months
    • 2013 was 15 Apr 2001, approx. 7.25 months
    • 2014 was 22 Oct 2001, approx. 6.25 months
    • 2015 was 15 Apr 2002, approx. 5.75 months
    • 2016 was 08 Jun 2003, approx. 12.75 months
    • 2017 was 08 Feb 2004, approx. 8 months
    • 2018 was 22 Jul 2004, approx. 5.5 months
    • 2019 was 22 Jun 2005, approx. 11 months
    • 2020 was 01 Jul 2006, approx. 12.5 months
    • 2021 was 15 Oct 2006, approx. 3.5 months
    • 2022 is  22 Mar 2007, approx. 5.25 months

The average advancement over the 9 pre-COVID years was slightly less than 7.5 (7.47) months per year.  The average advancement in the past 3 years (Feb 2020 to Feb 2022) was approaching an average of 7.1 (7.08) months per year -- certainly not "three years behind" and a difference which could just as easily be explained by an Increased number of applicants as by COVID delays.  As more and more F4 petitions are submitted, the wait time is more likely to increase for those filing now, as Crazy Cat pointed out, since the annual numerical limit is unlikely to change.

Thank you, make sense now.  i thought since they are still in 2007 for the last few months was because of covid related backlog. I hope they get it there faster.

I am surprised by looking at other F4 cases takes time to approve. My friend's case got approved within a few months. So they cant even use CSPA. Oh well i hope there is no need for it and they all move to US together.

No Feb is done for interviews we all are waiting for March interviews and IL supposed to come in January  for March only one day left in jan but as usual the famous ISl embassy didn't issue any IL in Jan. So let's see in 1st week of Feb if they wake up from sleep and issue any IL but don't know if they are for March or April bcuz they give a month time to prepare God knows what they are doing.😡

I was going through visa journey timeline for Mumbai and they are sending out IL for DQ June 2022. Like they picked up fast most consulates in India are now open on Saturdays too. SMH Pakistan
