Well had my interview first thing this am in Houston. Time was 7am but arrived 15 mins before and checked in, did biometrics etc after that. Got called maybe 10 minutes later or so by the IO. She was very very very nice. Did civics test and got all 6 first try, very easy questions. Then the yes no and we chatted a bit. Asked my wife's name, kids name where I live etc. It was very easy going and we joked and laughed a bit about somethings. Approved on the spot.

Waiting for Oath to be scheduled. I informed her that I have traveled plans at the end of May and she said no big deal just reschedule your Oath, they make it easy to do this.

Overall, 10/10 experience with the office and this officer.

Congratulations ! Did she asked you about tax scripts?

You can change answers / make corrections at the interview. Just bring the errata sheet and evidence. I'm not 100% sure they count as citations, but disclosing won't hurt 99.9%

Thank you . Is a screenshot from .gov website saying my tickets were dismissed would be enough?or should I go to dmv or something?

If your only tickets were for parking violations (that is, things like staying too long at a parking meter or parking your car in a red zone), you don't even need to mention these on Form N-400. But for any violation where you were behind the wheel, or your motor was running, your best bet is to mention it.

Thank you .I wasn’t sure if I need to include it since both tickets were dismissed, and then I simply forgot about it because I thought I should provide information about the last 5 years only.

  5. Hi !

I just realized that for question 23- I replied No, but I have 2 DiSMISSED tickets  more than 7 years ago . One for - “ no standing “, and the another one - red light violation ( I turned right on yellow/ red  ). Do these tickets means citations?? I received it by mail, Police didn’t stop me to write it. Do I need to mention it during the interview? Do I need any proofs , and where to get it ?

Why would the officer ask you to explain the application itself to him? No one is going to ask you the definition of the questions on the N-400. They will go over your application with you and confirm that you haven't committed crimes, been imprisoned, broken the law, etc. You will need to answer either yes/no or in some cases provide a brief explanation where applicable.

I hope they will not ask  🙂 However , just recently I heard the story where they did ask older lady with very bad English what this means, and she didn’t know. She didn’t pass the test . Couple months after she tried again after learning  the meaning of these words and she passed. I guess it’s depends. Maybe they ask if a person doesn’t  speaks English good enough.

Oh I wasn't close to the five years. I applied under the 3 year rule; actually 2 months before my 3 year anniversary as LPR

    Congratulations!
If I applied for a citizenship after being a Green card holder for 6 years , what rules apply to my case ? I got my green card through marriage, but we divorced before I received a permanent green card ( without an interview).

You should receive the notice about about 3-4 weeks prior to your interview.

If you filed N-400 online, I would strongly recommend checking the "Documents" tab regularly if your mail is not being delivered as expected. All notices pertinent to your case are posted there the moment they are generated. You should expect to see the paper copy about 1-2 weeks after a notice is posted online to your account.

You can print the online copy and use it at your interview, in case you find that your interview notice was somehow not delivered at all.

Thank you so much ! It’s very helpful.

You can upload the last five years of your tax transcripts. I did it with the original application, but you can upload evidence now. Would’ve been better if you uploaded it to begin with but it doesn’t really matter.

Also the timelines on the USCIS website are not any indication of the processing times of your case.

in case you haven’t noticed, everyone’s increased by a few months, that’s because everyone gets the same timeline and it is a useless measure of when you’re going to hear back about an interview

Thank you! Can I just attach tax returns from TurboTax or freeTaxUsa? Or should it be original transcripts from IRA? 📚📚📚

Thank you ! I didn’t know that I should upload taxes to my online application 🤔 Is it mandatory ? It didn’t mention  in the instructions or anything like that.

Checked USCIS account. the estimated processing time went up to 6 months from 4 months. :( I'm planning to have Chik-Fil-A tonight.

Hi! I applied online around 3 weeks ago and received a notice in my profile that my biometric will reuse. At that moment it says waiting time was 4 months ( Chicago ).Now it says 7 months . I don’t know why …

Also, do we need to upload out taxes for the last 5 years to online profile ? Or do we need to bring it to the interview?

I second this. We have been waiting for the interview to be scheduled since April 2020. His GC extension letter has March 2021 expiration, so what happens after that? No way to leave the country? Any help is immensely appreciated.

People talking about the stamp in the passport 🤔 I hope we will get our before March . We will see soon ! Good luck to us 🍀
