  1. You don't really need a lawyer for this process, the guide on visajourney.com is often a lot better. Many here made the experience with bad lawyers who forgot things or simply gave wrong information causing the process to slow down even more. Filling out the forms and sending in all the evidence is relatively simple, all you need to make sure is that you don't forget to sign and include all neccessary forms.

To find out how much time you will need aproximately (remember, each case may vary greatly!) see the "Immigration Timeline" Link on the top of this page.

  2. She's going to have around $6000 on her savings account (and no debts whatsoever), so maybe that helps? Also I could wire her some of my money (around $5000) (I will have to transfer it sooner or later either way) to her account, but the question is if that'd count... Or should we really search for a Co-Sponsor, which might be not that easy and I think she wouldn't want to do that in any case.

  3. My girlfriend currently works for IRS, but it's only a temporary position until November. She however meets the 125% minimum (only slightly higher than that). In a few weeks she's going to have to get these documents ready and signed in presence of a notary so she can send it to me for my interview. The question is, will it be a problem since it's only a temporary position, or will it do even for AOS (which we plan to file for in September/October, depending on when we can get married)?

  4. How can I get VJ to display the replies in a thread in chronological order rather than the tree? I noticed that it works fine in Internet Explorer, but in Firefox I always have to click every single reply. It's very confusing to me.... How can I change that?

  5. We also didn't add them and we haven't received an RFE yet. However, if everything works out as planned we should get NOA2 in the next 3 weeks (or an RFE...). So just to be sure I sent copies of the few boarding passes that I still have for my flight back home to my girlfriend. Unfortunately we threw away those for my flight to her. However, we included a copy of the bill for the ticket, hope that's enough...

  6. Someone may have said this already but...

We got a RFE because we took "passport OR birth certificate of USC" to mean "passport OR birth certificate of USC" LOL. We put birth certificate and not passport, and they RFE'd for the passport so my advice is read all OR's as AND's ;)

Good luck to you dear reader :)

oh well, that's stupid. We also only submitted her birth certificate...Not everybody even owns a passport...

... or read it as a binary OR
