No problem, just don't mess up too badly
-
I think you're better off going through a K-1 (I-129F), this way you're not going to be able to marry in the summer (maybe fall or likely winter) but she won't have to leave you anymore. It usually takes more time to go through a K-3. I'd postpone the wedding for good, she's going to understand if you explain her the reasons. You can still visit each other until her visa is approved.
-
Don't forget that it takes some time to send the documents over. I'd reschedule just to be sure.
-
Use the money you would've spent on a lawyer for your honeymoon instead.
Believe me, this website provides you with tons of information, your lawyer might not even know as much as you can learn here by reading the guides and through the forums. Absolutely no need to worry. In fact I'd worry less (rather than trusting a 3rd party) because I did it myself after learning about the process.
-
You don't really need a lawyer for this process, the guide on visajourney.com is often a lot better. Many here made the experience with bad lawyers who forgot things or simply gave wrong information causing the process to slow down even more. Filling out the forms and sending in all the evidence is relatively simple, all you need to make sure is that you don't forget to sign and include all neccessary forms.
To find out how much time you will need aproximately (remember, each case may vary greatly!) see the "Immigration Timeline" Link on the top of this page.

Yeah. They better not issue an RFE for us...
-
We haven't even been touched once since our NOA1 on 3/1/2007
-
What did she make last year - over the minimum required? If she did, then you are likely OK.
She didn't really make money until this year because she was going to university. I guess we're in trouble
-
She's going to have around $6000 on her savings account (and no debts whatsoever), so maybe that helps? Also I could wire her some of my money (around $5000) (I will have to transfer it sooner or later either way) to her account, but the question is if that'd count... Or should we really search for a Co-Sponsor, which might be not that easy and I think she wouldn't want to do that in any case.

My girlfriend currently works for IRS, but it's only a temporary position until November. She however meets the 125% minimum (only slightly higher than that). In a few weeks she's going to have to get these documents ready and signed in presence of a notary so she can send it to me for my interview. The question is, will it be a problem since it's only a temporary position, or will it do even for AOS (which we plan to file for in September/October, depending on when we can get married)?

Oh wow, must have done that accidentally some day. I only looked in "My Controls" without any luck. Thanks

How can I get VJ to display the replies in a thread in chronological order rather than the tree? I noticed that it works fine in Internet Explorer, but in Firefox I always have to click every single reply. It's very confusing to me.... How can I change that?

Nothing yet, 79 days since NOA1
-
Also on the G325A form they ask for the Alien Registration number, but my fiancee clearly doesn't have one yet - should we just leave it blank?
Don't leave *anything* blank. Always write "none" or "N/A", otherwise they might issue an RFE.
-
I feel stuck in between February and March because I am right on the cusp...my online NOA1 is March 1.
Our online NOA1 is March 1, too
Hope it doesn't take too long because we plan to get married on September 1, but we're still waiting for NOA2
-
Our last touch was March 5th, which was a few days after NOA1 (or was NOA1, I don't know)... So don't worry
-
However sometime this year there is suppose to be a big increase on this fee to over $1000.
I've never heard of this before. Do you have a link with further information?
-
We received NOA1 on March 1st and we're still waiting (probably for another 3 to 4 weeks)...
-
We also didn't add them and we haven't received an RFE yet. However, if everything works out as planned we should get NOA2 in the next 3 weeks (or an RFE...). So just to be sure I sent copies of the few boarding passes that I still have for my flight back home to my girlfriend. Unfortunately we threw away those for my flight to her. However, we included a copy of the bill for the ticket, hope that's enough...
-
We attached copies of personal handwritten letters, some of them not in English. Most of them without a date, though (because we didn't write one on it and it's not primary evidence anyway). Is it likely that something like that can cause a RFE because they can't read what it says? Should we have sticked to English "evidence"?
-
Someone may have said this already but...
We got a RFE because we took "passport OR birth certificate of USC" to mean "passport OR birth certificate of USC" LOL. We put birth certificate and not passport, and they RFE'd for the passport so my advice is read all OR's as AND's
Good luck to you dear reader
oh well, that's stupid. We also only submitted her birth certificate...Not everybody even owns a passport...
... or read it as a binary OR
-
Did anyone get an RFE for leaving the Apt# empty (instead of writing N/A)?
