Outside of that, a couple can be romantic even at the local reastaurant or the now-dying breed of drive-in theaters

She's not here yet, but, we're planning on going to either Niagara Falls or Disney World.

Did you/anyone see the (travel channel?) special on DW? (It's got a whole adult-oriented night life - was pretty interesting, I never knew that.. I'd list it as a definite spot... I think anywhere (OK, maybe not anywhere...) a couple is can be romantic..

That is very fast @ CSC!!! I'm super jealous, and happy at the same time. I wonder why I haven't got an approval notice since my timeline is the same as yours.

I don't know what happened, but I'm really stoked!!! I woke up and checked my email today and here's what it said -

On the page for Immigrant Visas Packet IV - http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivpktfour.html - it mentions that we need to bring:

Completed Biographic Form DS-230, Parts 1 & 2

Hence the confusion ...

Just trying to get these forms ready; I guess I have that itch... as long as I'm occupied doing something related to this whole visa process, I feel there is some progress!! lol!

It was free for me here in Canada. It was covered under my Provincial health care plan. I went to a Medicentre (walk in clinic) and asked to be sent to the Lab for a Titres test. I know for me and my age group I need proof for MMR- measles, mumps, rubella. Tetnus, and the Doctor when I go for my Immigration Physical will take oral testimony that I have had Chicken Pox. I do have a letter from my childhood Doctor that I went to him when I had chicken pox.

Results for me took about 4 days. The first time I got my results I showed no immunity for tetnus (I had the booster a few months earlier, so that was strange) and I showed low immunity on mumps and measles. I went to the Health Unit and redid all the shots- also covered by healthcare. They said to wait a month to redo the Titres so it would show up in my blood. I did my second test and got my results back in a few days.

I'm glad I did all this early. You can go to any Doctor. Here in Canada you need a Doctors referral to be sent to the lab for any blood work. I'm not sure how it works in other countries.

I'm guessing you can provide pictures of the wedding ceremony, maybe a wedding invitation, affidavits from a friend/s that they were witness to your marriage and can vouch that it is bonafide, copies of emails you received from people suggesting that you are married...

I have only been Married for 4 months what am I suppose to send for Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage? All we have is our certified copy of Marriage Certificate.

For 2003, 2004 and 2005 I have the tax transcripts. I have copies of those notarized by an Indian notary which my wife can take to the interview and leave with them, while bringing the original tax transcripts back.

For 2006, I will file my return next week; not sure if IRS can issue a tax transcript for this once it's processed. I believe it takes a year for them to issue a transcript. So in this case I will provide her with a copy of the return including W-2s.

I guess that will cover it all off...

Interestingly, my aunt had applied for the IR1 (I-130) for my grandparents in Sept 2006 at the CSC. While they are still showing processing dates of August 2006 at the CSC for such applications, my grandparents already received the packets to confirm and set-up their interviews in Mumbai for next month!! For an IR1!

So miracles do happen, hoping for the best!

In your case, between the first NOA and the 2nd NOA from your I-129F, it is about 98 days on average.

Anybody have any recent experiences with CSC - how long before they approve and forward the K3 petition?

For K-3, Vermont Service Center seems to average to about 40 days for an approval. I have a few more days.

My tax man said he had to file cause we were married in 2006. So the passport has to be notarized. My dad's sectary is a notary would this work? We are filling an extension cause he will be here at the end of May. He has to drive 5 hours to get this done to a dangerous place in his country and we will not take that risk.

I don't think the secretary's notary will work. Who is coming in May - your Dad or husband? If your husband is coming in May he will ikely have the passport with him so you can get it notarized here in the US since you are filing for a tax extension.

You may not be able to answer this question, but if my spouse did not work in the USA in 2006 and therefore did not earn any money "here", I should still be able to file "Married Filing Jointly"? In my mind, that seems logical but I will haev to consult a tax man to be sure, and I welcome any other information in this regard.

Yes, even if your foreign spouse has not earned a dollar in US you can file as "married, filing jointly".... however best to consult a good tax professional to get everything in order.

Notarize the I-134 at any notary. Copies of the W2's are included with the tax return copies you provide along with the I-134. Actual tax transcripts are preferred. You can order them free from the IRS.

HI Everyone,

I am wondering what i should do with the time i have between the I-129F NOA1 and NOA2; can i do anything to be better prepared.

Once i get the NOA2 for the I-129, what is the deal with the I-134 the form does not seem difficult. What are the next steps for me and my wife.

Where does the medical exam and police record check etc come into play.

I see a lot on these boards about eh I-130 and I-129F, filing it, NOA stuff like that, but not much about the rest of the process from I-129f NOA2 onwards.

That process will take too long. IF she doesn't have the records, she can have a couple of the required shots when she goes for the medical, then when she gets here she can takes whatever that's need at the Local civil Surgeon. for form 693 medical supplement when filing AOS.

One little secret I would say, Once your wife gets here, add her to your medical, and find out what's the required shot, then make an appointment at your doctor on your insurance, gets the required vaccination they will ask for, so when you go the the civil surgeon all you have to do is show proof she had those shots already. IT's been awhile but you can IM me if you need more info i can dig for the I693 from India.

Thanks! Makes sense to do it under medical coverage once she's here, but its significanly cheap in India as well, isn't it? She has a lot of time and could take the required shots over a period of time in India until her interview gets scheduled.

And does this mean that the medical requirements she will go through as a part of her K3 visa process in India is different for those required for Adjustment of Status in the US? i.e. they are more stringent once she's on American soil?! Or tougher before she leaves foreign lands and comes to US?!

You can go for what is called a Titres test. They will draw blood and check it for what she has been immunized for.

I had to get a Titres done. They didn't have my records here in Canada.

Some vaccines have to be updated every 10 years, so she might have to get them again. I know my husband does and he's not happy about it.
