no need for 24 hours before. It says on website to do it no later than the day before interview so you are good for the 3:30 pm appointment.

The petitioner doesnt have to be at interview, only applicant.

PD doesn't matter for CR1 cases. Interview dates get set up depending on your cc date.

same here, I wonder how many of us are still waiting for Mumbai interview. Other embassies are way faster in giving interview dates. They should allow New Delhi to take CR1 cases again!!

Haven't been scheduled yet - I am guessing they'll start scheduling us sometime next week.

Have you tried calling nvc about interview letter? Like they give case numbers over phone, maybe they can give interview date if they already scheduled. They send emails at a later time I think after scheduling date.

That was because at that time Mumbai embassy was transitioning to the electronic processing system I think. Yup fingers crossed.

yes but how does it take almost 3 weeks and no interview notice yet for you? Is there a way to check how long Mumbai embassy is taking? Like is there a visa bulletin for CR1/IR1 cases? Are they going per the priority date?

I actually thinks its random now. I see people who submitted on feb 9 and getting replies within a week while some people are waiting 2 weeks and longer. doesn't  make sense on how NVC is operating now.

That I am not too sure about how Mumbai operates. I would have your wife call and confirm what they need. My wife is in Punjab so the procedure may be different.

If you don't have any other dependents other than your wife who will come here, than you should be fine because according to the poverty guidelines, for 2 people in household, you need above 20k that is if I am reading the chart correctly. If I am wrong, I ask my fellow petitioners on this site to correct me.

I've petitioned my wife to bring US from India, and i am originally from India US Citizen. So my file has got received in NVC and have to wait few weeks to till case get assigned. Meanwhile what do i need to prepare for?  what are the documents i need to submit and prepare? can you please list if you dont mind for preparing the package? will 2018 year tax should be ok to submit as i have made less in year 17& 16 under poverty guidelines but for the 2018 i've made $32k? Please help me out with questions if you can.

Since nvc just received your case, you will have to wait 6-7 weeks to get your case number. Until then, i would assume your 2018 tax return transcript would be available assuming u already filed your taxes electronically.  If not then u will need a co sponsor. Note: tax return transcripts are now mandatory for both petitioner and co sponsor. For civil documents make sure u ask your wife to get police clearance certificate from passport office ahead of time because i know in india, they can take forever with preparing such documents as u know too how india operates....smh....other than that, everything is pretty simple. you need to send transcripts for the petitioner and other sponsors. I am assuming you only sent transcript for only yourself or did you also include your household member's transcript?
