Hello I am in Lawrence  Ma. My case just changed  to ready to be scheduled  for interview

Today I received a courtesy letter for medical but my status is still on we received  your RFE.How long will it take to change to ready to be scheduled  for an interview?

It wasn't my parents that went, my brother did he asked them that he needs bc for me and they showed him what to do. Temi I am still confuse. From your explanation,  this is what I understand. The attestation of birth comes from NPC, then I need to do age declaration here in a court near me. Then I will get two affidavits from people in Nigeria and then send it with my birth certificate issued at birth for my RFE. Please  am I right.  Sorry for disturbing, just want to be sure I understand all

 Temi thank you very much for the info. Really  helpful.  Apart from my old birth certificate,  what other documents does my parents need from me to get the new birth certificate.  Also,how much is the cost.  Just want  them to go prepared for a smooth process.

Apparently it is different if you were born before 1992 even though is the same one we took to the embassy, USCIS only accept long form. Contact your family back home to go NPC and do 1. Attestation of birth 2. Age Declaration 3. Get two people (parents/older sibling) to do affidavit confirming that they are aware of your birth. Everything can be done in a day or two. Tell them to scan them very clear to you, so you print out and reply your REF asap. They can mail the original copies via Fedex later. 

So after  doing  all these, will then give me birth certificate and which npc did u go to?

Our changed Oct 17 and still waiting for interview date. According to VJ AOS statistics we are in one of the fastest field office (Louisville, KY)

But waiting for date and 3 weeks later nothing don't feel fast to me.

Please  I need help. I just  got RFE asking  for long form  of birth  certificate.  I am from  Nigeria.  Is there a different  form from the short one I have from Birth. How did you get the long form. Please  help. Thanks

Hi Ibrahim, 

When you say you submitted police report, do you mean police report showing u r a person. Of good moral character  or did you call police  on your abuser and got the police report ?

Good for you cata. I am in Boston  filed Sept. 16th and I am feeling  down now as I woke up to a notification  for REF. I am waiting  to get the REF in the mail but this will put my case on hold.😭😭

I-485 was delivered May 29, 2019 but we were one of those whose form wasn't processed for several weeks so NOA1 was June 18, 2019.

@sandranj @Stillwinning!!!😊 I am putting together my vawa application with my lawyer. I have a pending i-485. He said we should withdraw the i-485 and file new one with i-360. My problem now is I am scared of withdrawing it so they won't put me in removal proceedings or send Notice to appear. Pls house i need your views

I have a pending AOS but would be filling Vawa due to psychological and mental abuse. I currently have letter from shelter, medical report, drugs prescription. I have put together a 22 pages of self affidavit and within the coming week,i will be getting affidavit from people who witnessed or heard about the abuse.  Can i submit my documents with these, while i submit my pschological evaluation later as i have not started any session?. Thanks as I await your response. I plan to do this myself. Also my interview will be coming soon,what should i do?  Please help a sister

I came across this website after doing a lot of research. Please Sandra I need your advice.

I am currently on my Legal student status. I got married December 2017 and I am yet to file my i-485 due to school and all. I have gone through a lot in y marriage and my husband want to file for divorce. I will give you a little things about my marriage and please let me know if I qualify for VAWA because I am loosing my mind. 

My marriage was sweet from the beginning not until I found out that my husband do bring in a male boyfriend to the house anytime I am out at school. The guy do sleep over in my matrimonial bed anytime I am out and when I come back he will give abusing and insulting me and starving me sexually. He got into a fight with his boyfriend and his boyfriend came over to my apartment to threatening him and me with a knife that involved the police. I was mentally devastated and I was not emotionally stable in school. He got STD from the guy and abandon me at home. I pay the rent every time and he does not contribute to the bills. I finally finished school and got a job in another state. He encouraged me to relocate that he would join me when he sort out his police case with his boyfriend. I relocated November of last year and he December, he started acting up. He stopped picking my calls, on Christmas day he send a message that he wants to file for separation that he is interested in guys,he insults me and call me all sort of names. I traveled over to go see him and we settled it but now it has gotten worst. He stopped picking calls. He said he will not file my papers for me, I called his mum she did not pick.I am emotionally and mentally going crazy. I can focus at my new job. He has my car, he closed down our joint account and withdrew the money,he called me fraud and abandoned me in this new state. I am lonely and I want to enroll for therapist. Please sandra and everyone, what are my options. I am tired of this marriage I want to walk out. I need my Sanity.

Please help a depressed sister.
