@LarryDay I've been trying to find out how long it actually takes a supervisor to respond to those service requests. I thought the service request would go straight to a supervisor, but after two weeks I received an email saying that the update is that it's now being forwarded to a supervisor. Is your 40 day count from the original day the request was made or is it from that 2 week email mark?

Hi...40 days was an estimation but i have looked up the actual timeline.....

9/12   filed the last service request via phone

10/4   received a letter stating a supervisor would review case and action would be taken within 60 days of receipt of the letter.

    11/2    email from NVC...case received

11/5    email from NVC....case number and Invoice ID!

Been a long wait, but things are moving fast now.  Coincidentally, I'm in my wife's country visiting her as we receive this good news.  😀

Congrats!! My case was approved on 5/7/19 so I hope this means it will happen for me too...soon! I have already contacted the NVC, USCIS and the congressman several times with no help. Do you think your case was received by the NVC because enough time has passed or do you think it happened because you kept escalating and work the process? I am not really convinced contacting the NVC would help the case anymore...but basically wait until the enough time passes for them to receive the case...

It's hard to know, but we were currently about 40 days into a 60 day service request period where a supervisor was reviewing the case.  We never contacted an ombudsman or congressman, but that was next.  Good luck, everyone.

Hi all. I submitted my I130 petition January 14, 2019 and was approved by USCIS on July 9, 2019. It has been over 8 weeks and NVC has still not received my case. I emailed NVCResearch and received the following response:

Based on your USCIS receipt number, your case benefited from a pilot electronic process for the I-130 petition. USCIS reviewed and approved your petition faster than average cases of this type as we develop the fully electronic transfer of data from USCIS to the Department of State.

I am having a difficult time finding other people who are in the same situation or who have received the same response and had luck later on. Is there anyone that can give some insight as to tips and/or what I can expect for the future?

Our priority date for our I-130 is actually the same as yours, 1/14/19, and it was approved on 4/1/19.  We were also part of that pilot electronic process, and we still have no NVC case number.

Nobody seems to know where the file is, and it cannot be re-sent as USCIS says they have no copy.  I made my last service request a few weeks ago and if not resolved in 2 more weeks, I will contact my congressman.

I can say that my calls to both USCIS and NVC have become more pleasant as the reps actually seem concerned now instead of merely annoyed.  And they always remind me that we are still ahead of the other Nebraska applications that are taking more than a year to approve.

    Hello.

Have you heard any news yet from NVC?

    Have they received your petition?

She hasn't heard anything and calls seem futile (I'm her petitioner :)).

But a girl in her FB group with an IOE receipt number and USCIS approval date of mid-March recently received her NVC case number.

We are April 1 approval (insert joke here...lol), so we're hopeful it will come soon.

  5. I'm interested in this topic, also.  Has anyone who received an IOExxxxxxxxx receipt number when submitting their I-130 actually received their NVC case number?

Us:  Nebraska Office / Filipina Applicant

    Our timeline:

    1/14/19   Priority Date

    4/1/19    I-130 Approved

    4/2/19   Case sent to NVC

15 weeks later, still nothing from NVC.  Calls and emails to both tier 1 and 2 USCIS agents result in no information other than "we sent it to NVC, its out of our hands."

Calls and emails to NVC result in being told they have not received it and we need to wait.  No info on possible problems, options, or timeframes.  Very unhelpful on both ends.

Hopefully others with IOE I-130 receipts will post their experiences and timelines here.

Yes you have a chance. The current full years income ,  estimated at your current rate of pay, is the first marker.  So multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours you work each week then multiply by 52 .. that’s your estimated current  years income. If that is more than $21137 then you pass that hurdle. The final decision though is made by the CO who assesses the risk of the immigrant becoming a public charge. If you get an RFE then you get a joint sponsor .. it adds a few weeks to the process .. or you line up a joint sponsor now and submit their I864 and documents along with your I864 and documents. Then the CO at the interview will decide.

Thanks for the reply.  So if we are denied her visa at the interview due to public charge risk, we can just submit an 864A and joint sponsor online or via mail and they will then decide? Or is another interview required?

    Thanks for your replies.

We are 3, including our daughter who is already USC.  I think the minimum is 24k for us.

I have earned more than that in the past 7 months, but its spread out over two different tax years.  I know the C.O. has discretion over the approval, but I wonder if we have any chance at all with my income.

I would really like to avoid having a joint sponsor.

  8. Greetings!  We are at the NVC stage of my wife's case and I'm preparing my financial documents.  I didn't have any income for several years, but started work last September and have since surpassed the 110% poverty level.  2018 taxes only show $13000 and 2019 YTD earning total about $14000.

I've read many times that current income is most important, but in your opinion, will I surely need a joint sponsor?  Thanks.

  9. Greetings!  We are preparing to apply for our child's CRBA, and I need to plan a trip to the Philippines to attend to this.  The Embassy website says you can schedule an appointment up to two months ahead.  Does anyone have experience with scheduling their appointment for a certain day or week?

Also, for anyone who was required to have DNA testing, how long after the interview was the sample taken?  Is this something that can be done the same week as the interview?  Or were multiple trips to Manila required?

Thanks for any info.  I plan to contact the embassy asking the same questions, but its good to hear an applicants experience, also.
