  1. Hello, One of my friend petitioned her parents to come to US through IR5 visa. She is filling paperwork at NVC step and there is required to upload petitioner marriage certificate. My friend was married but got divorced. She is not sure how to handle this section. I was thinking to tell her to choose not available and explained the reason. Please help and advise. Thank you
  2. Hello, My parents will soon have interview in Vietnam for IR-5. I knew that I have to send original birth certificate. I wonder if I also need to send my spouse and my naturalization certificate or copy is enough. I scare it will get lost during shipping from US to my parents in Vietnam. Thanks.
  3. uhm is it on DS260? I know I-130 has that blank page.
  4. Hi All, My brother deceased 11 years ago. My mom needs to fill out DS-260 for IR5-visa. There are two questions that related to my brother. 1. How many child do you have so we have to include my brother who deceased as well. 2. Next question is the child living with you and address without any comment section to explain. We have to say not living together and address is do not know? Thanks.
  5. @pushbrk Sorry for tagging. Can you please help with this question? I filed tax together as married jointly for all years including 2022, 2023 that I did not work. Do I put my income only or total income (my spouse and me) as married filed jointly? The tax transcript has total incomes and they dont list how much I made so I scare I will get RFE on any scenario as it did not match. Thanks.
  6. I have one more questions if you can helps as I keep getting conflicting information even I watched few youtubers. As mentioned above that I started working in 2024 and still currently work so my income for 2022, and 2023 are 0. However I filed tax income as married jointly with my spouse for all years. The question that I keep getting conflicting is total income on I-864 incomes for 3 previous years in Part 6 questions:16.a, 16.b and 16.c. which is total my income as reported in federal income tax returns for most recent year was 16a) Most recent year 2024, do I put my income or total my spouse and I together as we filed tax together. My 2024 tax transcript has total incomes and it does not show how much I made. If I put my income only, then will NVC send me RFE as it does not match to tax transcript? 16b) 2023, same do I put 0 or I put total income of my spouse and I as married joint filed. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I petitioned my mom and dad for IR-5 visa. I am confusing the questions in DS-260 that I might overthink the questions here that I need helps from members. For my mom DS-260: 1. Is your spouse (my dad) immigrant to US with you? They are going to go together to US if they will pass interviews but they are separate petitions. I would say No? 2. is your spouse immigrant to US at a later date to join you? Again I feel like it is not derivatives visa so it is a No? Thanks.
  8. Do we need to explain why my income was 0 in 2022/2023 when I use my spouse income to fill I-864A? I stayed at home during 2022-2023 due to pregnancy and waited my son to grow up a bit before looking for job.
  9. All, I (US citizen) petitioned my mom and dad. USCIS recent sent it to NVC. I started working in 2024 and made 65k which my spouse and I filed 2024 tax as married jointly. We filed tax together as married jointly since we got married. However, I had no income in 2023 and 2022. I am still currently employed and expected to make around 75k in this year (2025) however the tax 2025 is not ready at NVC hence my spouse will fill out I-864A. I want to make sure I will not miss any document at critical NVC step specifically for affidavits of support. Financial documents I will submit on myself: 1. I-864 filled and signed 2. Tax transcript 2024 married jointly 3. My 2024 W2 4. My paytubs 2025 5. US passport Do I need to submit tax transcript 2022,2023 that we filed together but my income is 0? Financial documents my spouse will submit: 1. I-864A filled and signed 2. Tax transcripts 2022, 2023, 2024 married jointly with me 3. W2 for 2022, 2023, 2024 4. Paytubs 2025 5. US passport 6. Marriage certificate and translation 7. Do I need to scan driver license of my spouse and I to show the same address or marriage certificate above is enough 8. My spouse previously divorced, does nvc need the divorce document? I assumed No from NVC website. Is there anything else I missed here? Thank you in advance for reading and helping.
  10. All, I (US citizen) petitioned my mom and dad by filing I-130. I am filling out I-864 for my mom first and I have some questions to ask for I-864. I started working in 2024 and made 65k which my spouse and I filed 2024 tax as married jointly. We filed tax together as married jointly since we got married. However, I had no income in 2023 and 2022 but my spouse income had been steady around 80k the whole time. I am still currently employed and expected to make around 75k in this year (2025) however the tax 2025 might not be filed during NVC step. I assume I need my spouse to file I-864A. I have question relating to I-864 incomes for 3 previous years in Part 6 questions:16.a, 16.b and 16.c. which is total my income as reported in federal income tax returns fir most recent year was 16.a) most recent year 2024, do I put 65k or my spouse plus my income together in irs transcript? 16.b) 2023, Do I put 0 or total income from irs transcript that only has my spouse income? 16.c) 2022 same as 16.b) Thank you.
  11. same i got two emails about it. I checked document tab and all tabs but I could not find anything. It might take time to show up.
  12. All, I (US citizen) petitioned my mom and dad by filing I-130 in early 2024. I am filling out I-864 for my mom first and I have some questions to ask for I-864. I have read instruction form few times and I still confused. I started working in 2024 and made 65k. We filed tax together as married jointly since we got married. However, I had no income in 2023 and 2022 but my spouse income had been steady around 80k the whole time. I am still currently employed and expected to make around 75k in this year. I have few questions and hope someone can help me out. 1. My first question is do I need my spouse to do joint sponsor for my mom meaning that my spouse will file I-864A form as I heard somewhere that I need to have two years income tax? 2. Part 3) Question 2 is the one that confused me” I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within 6 months of principal immigrating in part 2 (do not include any relative listed on separate visa petition)”. My dad will or might fly on same day with my mom but since it is two separate visa petitions and not dependent, I would not checked this box for question 2? 3. For total household size question since I have filed for mom and dad. Our household size is now 3 (Spouse, son and me). For my mom’s I-864, is it going to be 4, and my dad’s I-864 will be 5? Thank you for taking time to read.
  13. Agreed. I think Timona thought I might answer the question 61a/b Part 4. My mom lives outside of US that is why I dont fill in City/ State questions for 61a and 61b Part 4. I only filled for 62a/b/c Part 4 questions for consulate process. I was asking what city/state the application was filed for my mom when I submitted her application online in Part 5 for questions 3a/b.
  14. Yeah I did not enter US city state in other question for I-485 because she lives outside US. I chose outside of US and entered city/ country for consulate process. This question in other hands do not pop up country and it is same on hard copy with city and state.
