For those of you who are getting a Philippine immigrant visa from your spouse...be aware...SLMC is really cracking down on x-rays and making a lot of spouse's go through sputum culture testing (which takes 2 MONTHS to get the results back).  My wife just went in for her physical at SLMC yesterday (she had a visa interview appointment with the U.S. Embassy scheduled for 21 Sep 2020).  They said they saw "some thickening on the lining of one of her lungs" .....whatever that means!  She has no symptoms at all....no coughing, fever, wait gain, etc, etc that indicates TB.  She has had many x-rays done over the past couple of years....with no issues.  Now she must go in for the next 3 days and do sputum testing....then wait 8 weeks for the results to come back.  I will be cancelling her visa interview appointment today.

She saw "several" people yesterday with the same story at St Luke's.  These tests are to detect any bacteria in the lungs... (to include COVID-19)....not just TB  The doctor at SLMC indicated  yesterday that they were just concerned about TB....but i think the U.S. Embassy is telling SLMC to do this to slow down immigrants from going from Manila to the US because of COVID-19...and using the "we are just focusing on detecting TB" as an excuse.

Sorry to hear that happened. I read this post as my husband was in SLEC today doing his medical. A bit panicked, i message my husband every 30 min about his progress at SLEC. No problems. medical report released same day. I wish everyone the same luck.

Hello everyone. Is it a alright to schedule a medical at SLEC 2 days before the interview date? Applicant is from the province and will need to be home quarantined for 14 days after travelling to Manila. Will SLEC release the medical result (sealed envelop) same day of medical completion or it will be sent directly to the USEM? Thank you.

My husband just completed his medical at SLEC today. He was walk in no appointment. Arrived at 8am and registered there inStead of online. He got his medical report release by 2pm.

My wife and I have almost the same situation. She has her EAD/AP combo card. Our AOS interview was scheduled for 3/20/20 and was canceled due to COVID. Has not been rescheduled as of today. Her Philippine passport expires 1/2021. I spent several weeks working on and submitting our report of marriage by mail to the Philippine consulate in Los Angeles. Don’t know where you live but I suggest you find out where the Philippine consulate is for your area, and read the instructions on their website. I spent $200+ on notary, birth certificate, postage and application fees. We received the report of marriage, then the Philippine consulate opened 6/17/20. For several weeks I tried to schedule an appointment for my wife to renew her passport (must appear in person for that), but to no avail. The slots were filled and every day no appointment was available. Then this message appeared several weeks ago:

So at this point we are still waiting for an AOS interview appointment and a passport renewal appointment.
I’m reading in the news that the schools are supposed to open for full time in person instruction, while the rest of the “non essential” government offices and services remain closed to in person services. Totally unfair...

Hi, so was report of marriage required for/during interview by embassy in Manila. We did mot report our marriage and our interview is this month.

Why would you want to register the marriage?

    I see downside to it

Actually it would be better to not need it registered because everything is shut down now in hong kong and it would all just be a headache roght now to get it done. Im hoping the thenus embassy manila will not request this at interview. I hope they will jist take the marriage certificate from hong kong , annulment decree, and cenomar woth annotations. Anybody married abroad have any experience with this?

  7. Hi, my husband and i married in hong kong. He is filipino and im american. We did not register our marriage at the Philippine embassy in hong kong. We have his annulment decree and cenomar with annotation. Will they still request a marriage certificate issued by PSA because if we registered our marriage the  we would beable to get this but we didnt. Im wondering if the original marriage certificate is enough with the annulment decree and cenomar with annotations.
