I meant to update this post last week. I wrote a letter to the USCIS office processing our case explaining what I forgot to fill out on the forum and copied the updated I-129F page. I then requested an official document from the state police since the court record was destroyed more than 10 years ago to support my claim. (It was the only option to obtain such info) I then gave the copy to my Fiancee who been informed for a while. We passed USCIS and Embassy interview with no issues, but the CO did ask her about my DUI that was on file and told her not to drink and drive. That told me the letter did make its way to the person at USCIS processing the papers.
They mainly want to make sure your fiance(e) is fully aware of the past convictions.

Update…So she had her interview and passed with flying colors…6 minutes. They didn’t look at the extra trips I made with her for ongoing proof of relationship and pictures of chat logs but he did look the I-134F I rushed at the last minute. She is more organized than I am by far. She said the guy was joking and laughing with her the whole time and she felt embarrassed because of the intercom, but all in all a good experience. 5 Stars. She had some interesting/crazy relationship stories about people who failed interviews. Thanks all for the help and guidance, I know I can’t read, I kept thinking that affidavit of support was built into the I-129F! We had a setback with the transfer, but other than that things have ran smooth during the whole process. Hopefully the visa will show up within 3 weeks so she can make the flight, I know it’s a stretch with the upcoming holiday. CFO is in two weeks. It’s been a long time coming. 😁😁
-
Update: I emailed both embassy asking them about the status of the transfer and the next week we received an email for the letter confirmation on the 9th. Physical file took a month to arrive as estimated. We moved the interview up a week after that email. CFO is scheduled and medical was last week. Some questions before the interview this week. I’ve been hung up on the affidavit part.
For affidavit of support I gave my fiancee:
3 years of W2s
6 months of pay stubs
I didn’t include a letter from my employer or bank statements, is that ok? Has anyone gotten a 221g for not having any of those docs?
I don’t understand this line from travel.state.gov:
Quote“The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e).”
My fiancee mentioned she needs to bring a copy of I-134 after talking with another K1 patient in medical who had her own checklist...... but I told her it’s not needed and I can’t seem to find that requirement on the checklist from US govt site. I said they have that in our case files already. Am I correct on this?
Thanks,

That is fine with the NVC letter having the Taiwan case file prefix on it, you are not the 1st to have their case file transferred, that is still what SLEC requires. Appt confirmation is "only if available" for SLEC with the K-1 (do take note that you are only allowed to cancel and reschedule twice without having "issues")
It is not ONE OR THE OTHER with the NVC letter & Interview confirmation. Do follow the SLEC website instructions.
Thanks. Will make sure she has the letter with a screenshot of the updated CEAC.

firstly, sorry I accidentally pressed submit without typing anything yet 🙂
based on my personally journey, please wait for the eligibility email before booking appt and medical. My case got transferred from Abu Dhabi to Manila. From the time of confirmation that my request has been granted, it took another 3 weeks to receive the letter.
Please patiently wait for now
We are patient, no rush. She speaks Mandarin fluently so she could have had the interview in Taiwan but decided to visit family and gather other docs. The interview is now scheduled a month from now and this Monday will be 3 weeks since they shipped the physical file. I been tracking the case updates on ustraveldocs and they do not have the case as of the 25th. It’s on the slow bus. I understand there were holidays last week. Talking between the embassy’s took 2 weeks before they shipped the file. I was reading old post where it use to be READY then rock n roll time 😂😂

You never got a letter/email from NVC with your case file # ? That is what SLEC wants for the medical. Appt confirmation page (copy) is optional for SLEC .. the NVC email/letter is listed as required.
Yes, I have a NVC letter with the bar code but it saying they sent the case to Taiwan. I didn’t know if this would help or have them raise questions at SLEC with the Taiwan number. When the case transferred, I did see it go from Case transfer for about 2 days then back to ready in MNL. There is a MNL after the original TAI case # now that it transferred. The odd thing is that we filled out the DS160 using the TAI number with the intentions of having the interview in MNL before it left NVC. I should have paid attention when I first received the TAI number that it was going to Taiwan but o well you live and you learn I guess.

Thanks. I wasnt sure about the TAI number NVC letter. We were looking to schedule the interview and hope that by the time another month comes they would send us an email saying the case/physical file has been received. Worst case is I would have to reschedule. I flipped a coin a while back and scheduled the flight for mid-June on a hope and a prayer. Couldn’t avoid the cheap rates! I’m sure it will cost me way more in the end.
Thanks guys!

Hi All,
We had our case transferred from Taiwan to Manila on the 8th. (The pouch was also shipped same day).CEAC has been Ready for 2 weeks now. I emailed Manila Embassy and they don’t have the physical file yet, they said they would receive it soon and that was on the 11th. Is it possible to schedule the interview a month out from now? We have all documents except the NVC and Embassy eligibility letter. Would an appointment confirmation and a screenshot of the CEAC be good enough for the medical?
Thanks.

By joining the March group here: (see * below for additional information)
If the beneficiary is living in another country then that country is the choice that NVC will make for you. You can transfer the file once it arrives at TAI to MNL but expect about a delay of 30-45 days. Why not just do it from TAI?
Thanks. I must have been confused from the start, it doesn’t make since why they ask for question 62 on the i129f if current residence overrides where they ship to. We had plans for her to go back home for 2 months before she makes the trip to the US so we figure she would do everything in MNL. She has a flight lined up for the 28th so time is not on our side to make the interview.
We filled out and submitted the DS160 using the TAI number intended for MNL embassy, do we create another one once we receive a MNL#? How do we discard the old one?
If the package gets to the embassy this week (assuming it ships the 19th) can she go to the Taiwan embassy and request it be transferred when it arrives?

I just realized I have a TAI case number but I was expecting a MNL number. Did NVC mess up? We just completed the DS160 when it hit me in the head. Our i129F (62.a + b) stated the Embassy was Manila, PH. My fiance currently lives in Taiwan for work but is leaving in the last week of this month. Is there anyway the manila office will accept a TAI case number or do I need a newly assigned MNL#?

I called NVC late last night and the guy that answered said my case was at the NVC and confirmed my USCIS approval date: 2/4. They asked me what visa it was and I said K1 then he said its been 3 weeks and I need to give them more time. For the last week I've been checking every other day now. We should be cooking with gas next week. 😁

Got a text message today at work saying my case was updated. I was thinking they finally found the 9/13 pile. Checked my email and it said we were approved, pumped up!! Crazy thing is I signed up to the old site just Friday and the new website a week before. New website didn't update but the old one had the news!
9/13/18 NOA1
2/4/19 NOA2
Cheers, Best of Wishes To Everyone. 😄

Thanks for the advice guys; my beer eye was acting up
We all make mistakes. This mistake did lead me to a successful career which I’m very thankful for today and would not change the past. Things happen for a reason. I do read on this forum a lot since I filed the petition. The act of crime wasn’t aggression of any type and no drugs were involved. At any rate, my fiancé knows about it and I will have the official documents ready. I will make sure she has all the documentation if we make it to the interview. Just to be on the safe side I will give them a call. I was a bit confused when I searched because I didn’t see anyone who selected “no” and what the outcomes were from a DUI point of view. I also wasn't sure about question 4a on the old and new I-129F fourm.
5 hours ago, John & Rose said:I don't know if they will send an RFE for that. I had a very similar situation. We received NOA2, had a successful interview and were denied during AP after the interview. In my case it was a 30 year old misdemeanor arrest that was dropped and later expunged.
I would contact USCIS and explain and hopefully they will allow you to amend the petition.
Interesting, I’m curious…Did the USCIS send the information from your background check to the Manilla embassy? If you selected no and the USCIS found something in the background checks why didn't they ask for more information???? Did your fiancé have supporting documents (and was aware) in hand of your past crime when she went to the interview?

Hi,
I was looking over my application and noticed i misread the check box in 4.a of the I-129F by selecting "no"
I had one DUI 11 years ago, but forgot to check that box and attach my information. I have received a NOA1 in mid September.
Is there anything i can do to fix this now that it has been sent? Can i send documents to the USCIS to prevent a Denial or Refusal????
Please Help! Interview coming up but found out filed I-129F wrongly(merged)
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

That’s news to me....
If your case has made it pass USCIS then I would have a copy of the police records at the embassy interview just in case the DUI shows up on the police records attached to your case file. I wouldn’t bring it up at the interview unless asked.
